Many thanks for sharing your wonderful playing. Till today I didn't like this march. Now I know how it has to be played and I appreciate it much more. Best wishes
Thanks for you best wishes. If i can play it sometimes on the practice chanter, maybe i make than a video an take it here by you tube, so you can see it, and smile :-).
Ah! Wonderful. I am a beginner and have just started on this tune. My version so far doesn't sound anything like this! My speed is all wrong so far. But I now know what to aim for :)
Great piping, wish i can somtimes only 10% so good piping like you. But im only a beginner without teacher, only book and cd, and so i fight with the throw D an this son in the moment.
Thank you for the comment. I can relate, sometimes I feel very isolated from bagpipe teachers/communities. Just practice the transitions slowly and work on the technique part of things. The melody will soon follow.
Thanks, but if you believe or not, 10 Minutes ago, i play it on the practice chanater, and the sound is like this tune. Okay, not so good like yours, but you are a master, im only a ensing. Time comes, i hope, that i can play it than also on a pipe.
Excellent piping! I just realized, after seeing your videos for some time now, that I met you at the Austin Solo Bagpipe Competition a few weeks ago; I was the steward for Mike Cusack. Glad to finally make the association because I knew your face looked familiar for some reason! Take care.
Louisiana, US. The building is the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum in Shreveport. The auditorium is designed well, as most old church sanctuaries are, for bagpiping.
The set I played here are Booth drones and Kron ABW chanter. I also play a set of Dunbar P2s.
such lovely playing. I`ve just bought my practise chanter and the green book. I can see how complex those grace notes are, but it`s awesome in full flow. Thankyou so much .
Great playing.

I'm learning that tune as well, but I have to fix my double Cs and Bs, they are still clumsy. Well done there, your bagpipes have a beautiful sound.

where is bossier city? It looks like a big hall where you were playing, big echoey sound.
Also what make of pipes do you play, the drones have a lovely rich sound?

I'm having trouble with the 4th bar on this tune...
it's really pissing me off.

:o)
you play it like nobodys business!!!!

Thank you for the comment.
The 3rd and 4th bar tend to be finger twisters. Just try to keep it slow and work just that bar until you're comfortable with it.
I have been there. Good luck!

Any soldier sick with dispair at war, can find the comfort and courage to go on with the pipes. Magnificent!

That was a brilliant arrangement..did you compose the second repeat of the tune? One I've never heard-very nice!!!!
ecpiper9 3 years ago
Thank you. Actually the arrangement comes from John Recknagel's book of dance tunes.
