  • I was born in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Definitely a beautiful landscape.

  • fleet foxes... oh man. Their songs are just so emotional. I can listen to a song over and over and feel something different each time. I feel so happy like I'm frolicking in a field, or sometimes I feel sad and lonely. Their music just reaches into my heart every time without fail. Lovee you fleet foxes <3333 Thanks for making some amazing music in a world full of autotune and fakeness (:

  • Y'know. I really need a band that I can transition from black/extreme metal into. I've been looking so hard for a band like this and I finally found them. I love this band to death.

  • @LetsGetHighOnMorris check out "and so I watch you from afar"

  • this makes me want to move up in the colorado mountains drinking some tea while sitting in a little cottage with a special someone.

  • @helenamakeitbetter On the way up to Vermont for my great grandmas funeral last december I listened to this album on repeat the whole way. it really made the whole process alot easier and filled me with this blinding white light of faith and love. nothing like these guys, truly timbral magical visually stimulating alpaca forrest music.

  • Magic happens after 2:00

  • @stedhardy Magic happens through out the whole video.

  • god i hate the blue ridge mountains and school..

  • I am so happy that bands like this still exist.

  • At 2:10, you can really hear the snow falling onto some creek in the dead of winter. I bought a tamborine just so I could drum to this song!

  • In Soviet Russia beards grow YOU!

  • Only sound? Great, that's all I need.

  • sounds better live... :)

  • i feel kinda stupid.......

  • @OhMJB HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @OhMJB that's not stupid that's awesome

  • @OhMJB The beauty of music does but a tear of joy on your eyes

  • This song always makes me think of my little brother. He lives across the country now. I'd like to leave some green-eyed lookalike in his place and go on an adventure through the woods with him. It all sounds so right.

  • @Psychoclaw reminds me of my little brother across the country too.

  • my name is Sean and i use to go to college in the Blue Ridge Mountains. uhhhhh.

  • i just wanna live in the mountains, contemplate life, let my hair and beard grow out, and listen to fleet foxes. i'm gonna make that dream come true.

  • does the piano at 2:04 remind anyone else of Spirited Away?

  • @pinataman820 YES! lol i love that movie.

  • @pinataman820 that is a ukelele

  • @theasianyee Ummm... I'm pretty sure that's a piano, pal.

  • @Endlessdonut97 its a mandolin and a piano.

  • @pinataman820 I actually thought that the first time I listened. They are similar.

  • @pinataman820 its a mandolin babes

  • @pinataman820 THANK YOU! None of my friends agreed!

  • @pinataman820 i love that movie ;) i wouldn't expect a reference here though but its okay :)

  • @pinataman820 Are you talking about the mandolin? You can hardly hear the piano there

  • @pinataman820 Thought I was the only one.

  • This version is ok but I prefer the original

  • 23 people cant grow beards......

  • @rafeal98 sexist :D :D

  • The comments in Fleet Foxes videos are always so cute. Almost every single video has something about beards, Jesus and mountains :D

  • @Ssaaarra much like yours :-P

  • @ecasian Oh, right! I fell for that one :D

  • @Ssaaarra Weed, too, but those comments are best left ignored.

  • Fleet Foxes give me faith in humanity.

  • In the quivering forest,

    Where the shivering dog rests

    Our good grandfather

    Built a wooden nest.

    And the river got frozen,

And the home got snowed in.

And a yellow moon glowed bright

    Till the morning light.

  • fuck anyone who hates this song.

  • @numberonepirate7 nobody truly hates it. they just act like they do, then they secretly cry everytime they listen, and contemplate growing a beard.

  • I can't wait to get this album on Friday, my birthday @ Barnes&Noble!

  • 22 people pressed the dislike button... that's it, no punchline.

  • i can i type the word POOP and then say how much this music inspires me?

  • I love this song so much. The simple beauty of it speaks so deeply to my soul. I could listen to this mans voice for the rest of my life.

  • 22 PEOPLE ARE ANGRY THAT THEY'RE DEAF/HAVE NO COMPUTER SPEAKERS.

  • @iRollFlaccid NOT FUNNY SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • @iRollFlaccid I thought it was funny

  • Shivers down my spine ! A gift in these boring musical times. For those who enjoy this surely also will enjoy Antony and the Johnsons.

By the way, the painting on the cover was made by Pieter Breughel, it is shown in the Frans Hals Museum, Haarlem, the Netherlands.

  • 22 people are preys of foxes lilke rabbits and such

  • is it normal to feel like im having a panic attack everytime i listen to fleet foxes? all that beauty, contemplation and effort manisfests into a heroin like rush that leaves me feeling as numb as ive ever felt, FUCK IT S NICE TO FEEL ALIVE ! !!!

  • Terrible am I child?

  • @CherryPinkTomatoes He's speaking from the Grandfather's point of view, asking his grandson.

  • @metalcabana Aah. I understand. :) Quite beautiful lyrics!

  • 2:03 ,god handcrafted this song by itself, piece by piece, nothing left to say.

  • @1DeadSpirit god had nothing to do with this, their talent is just, unimaginably good :D

  • one night i got out of work passed midnight and fed up with the place and then i turned the radio on, this song started playing and it blew my mind away, i never heard it before that night and ever since this song has just been the perfect escape for those late nights in jersey

  • 22 people lost their connection flight

  • @PseudaNexus connecting*

  • Can you please print the lyrics to this? ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

  • 1:55 ♥

  • My favorite fleet foxes song, absolutely everything beautiful in the nature of existence is encapsulated in their music.

  • the piano riff makes me jizz uncontrollably...

  • @bobsbad I thought that was a piano as well, but it isn't, it's a tiny guitar of some sort...saw it w/my own eyes at the concert

  • @slickrick2k1 I'm pretty sure its a mandolin

  • @slickrick2k1 It's a mandolin;)

  • I live in the blue ridge mountains, and this makes me feel beyond special.

  • FUUUUUUCK !!!!!!!!!!

  • @OtE631 Exactly.

  • Dude. I just time traveled back to the late sixties/early seventies! Even the production is retro. Cool.

  • @frnk45071 please tell me youre a dude

  • So evocative! I love Fleet Foxes, their music is so impressionistic. You can see the misty Blue Ridge Mountains as you listen to this song.

  • This is an amazing song but what's with the opening lines? "Lie down with me my dear...tell nobody". Why would you put that in a song about your brother?

  • I wish I could grow a beard, live on feelings, and go on an adventure, every time I listen to this song.

  • @ilovejuice211 I have the exact same feeling, but alas, I'm only 14, so after that awesome experience... Back to studying...

  • @Donnnnnnny Haha, I feel ya.(:

  • @Donnnnnnny tell me about it!

  • surreal.

  • This is a sweet blend of old Graham Nash records (while he was with Crosby and Stills) and Simon and Garfunkel.

  • i AM IN LOVE WITH THE FLEET FOXES!!!!

  • 21 people's beards aren't long enough

  • 21 people have never been to The Blue Ridge Mountain

  • they sing with amazing harmony!!!

    I am absolutely amazed

  • @frnk45071 ? XD??

  • omg this is a good song but all the comments are from fucking nasty hipsters

  • @MaxtonSharif The first negative comment I've seen. Thanks bro. The calming ambiance has been shattered and ruined forever. PISSED ALL OVER FLEET FOXES DREAMS.

  • beautiful, absolutely <3

  • My brother recently left to travel the Appalachian Trail, this song reminds me strongly of him and his journey he's on!!

  • reminds me a little bit of stairyway to heaven. both are phenomenal songs

  • @frnk45071 then i hope you're not a girl. cause it would be pretty nasty then

  • @frnk45071 then i hope you're not a girl. cause it would be pretty nasty then

  • This was my first ever Fleet Foxes song that I found by accident and I'm so grateful that I did! This is too beautiful...

  • I hear a very large amount of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young in this.

Which is a very good thing.

  • @ameliajulius

    couldnt agree more

  • 21 people disliked because GAY DISLIKERS WILL ALWAYS BE GAY DISLIKERS BEHIND EVERY SUCCESSFUL PERSON LIES A PACK OF HATERS ^^

  • @DemonKast I agree 100%. On some boxing related sights it's in almost every post. All you can do is mention it to them and tell them to grow up. Sometimes haters are really just kind of afraid they won't fit in if they don't get on the " gay slur" bandwagon. It's amazing how many Haters are completely different when no ones around to judge them. Everybody wants to be accepted!

  • A similar band are called FOSSIL COLLECTIVE - check out the song ON & ON - it is on youtube .. hope you like it xx

  • this song gives the joy of sleeping while being awake on youtube.......somethings make life better

  • How could 21 people dislike? Simply incredulous.

  • its pretty clear that the bibles revelation has come true. Jesus, the messiah, has returned to earth. He then lived in Seattle for awhile and formed Fleet Floxes. Its the only explanation for the pure angelic golden voice of Robin. Plus the beard really gives it away.

  • This is...the most marvelous...piece of beauty I've ever had the fortune to come across. Wow.

  • the best mountain man band around.

  • Oh the harmonies.....

  • The songs with the most longevity and beauty all seem to have a good portion of ambiguity in the lyrics. It leaves room to project your own thoughts and feelings onto them. That way they are always fresh and somewhat facinating. A little beautiful mystery. Like life itself, at the heart of things. Nature can conjer that too. I think Robin's nature imagery also, for me, evokes that kind of delicious wonder.

  • After i discovered this was the most beatuiful song to grace this planet i reallized it makes me hate life because once it ends im taken away from the world this song takes me to then i reallize that i cant spend every minute of my life just listening to this and walking...so whats the point

  • i kinda wanna grow a beard now...

  • This gives me chills. It fills that little void in me that died when My Morning Jacket abandoned alt-country.

  • My God this song is beautiful!

    I <3 Fleet Foxes.

  • i listen to this when i jack off

  • i could live inside of this song

  • Sublime....

  • i'm arroused

  • Who could ever dislike this song? It's just so beautiful.

  • Listening to this in the Blue Ridge Valley right now... this is absolutely a drive up to Crabtree Falls.

  • @AnotherLifeMaybe Take a hit from the bong and it willl definetly increase the pleasure of your experience

  • Put this song on with shrooms, I literally went to the blue ridge mountains, I heard forest echo's everywhere,

  • the mountains are blue.. my brewski is as cold as the rockies

  • apparently 18 people fell off of blue ridged mountains

  • fucking glorious

  • Tripping acid and listening to this song will revolutionize your life.

  • @Dropkick101 sounds like an ethereal experience

  • @Dropkick101 good times...

  • @rolo3000cle I can tell you for certain that one person who hasn't been to the blue ridge mountains liked this video

  • Check out the song on and on by the fossil collectives, if you like fleet foxes you should take a listen :)

  • What's the (only sound) about in their songs?!

  • @Shadowin77 It means that fleet foxes are the only sound you'll ever need to hear
