  • i think i was smoking a marb red to this, seriously.

  • The turnpike is paid for. It's that motherfucking blue state that is thick as thieves.

  • Is this from the record-setting Coliseum shows or the record-setting Blossom Music Center shows? Man, did the rest of the country miss out...

  • heartland was the second album i ever had and im sure it was my older brothers but it turned me on to rock and roll forever!!

  • Love this kind of music....then check out Scott Sudsbury from Memphis...playing true to the heart rock n roll

  • Wow,,it's been a long time since I've seen live MSB. And so close to the studio version..Killer~

  • great band..never got the recognition they deserved......love the use of the saxophone they have in a lot of their songs

  • Just got back from a Michael Stanley show. It was amazing. It was my second time seeing him. Wasn't one person there that didn't say the line "Thank God for the man who put the white lines on the highway".

  • I'm not sure if I was at this exact concert, but I can tell you this; my 1972 Ford Maverick was out in that parking lot at Blossom for one of them in 1981. Great show, fun times.

  • Thanx 4 the Memories at Blossom. I saw many concerts there fromlate 70's thru 80's. I rember most, thanx 4 the Trip !

  • This was the best song to come out of the 80's!

  • Cleveland had/has MSB, Pittsburgh had/has Donnie iris.....Another "lost" musical gem.

  • OMG I was at this concert.. I was only in Jr. High, but I was there

  • @melissa0036 Hahha, that wasnt me that pinched your butt, honest. ;)

  • went with my friend and his parents to a free concert in the parking lot of the old cleveland stadium in the early '80s. does anybody know why MSB wasnt a much bigger success than only local? that question has been bugging me ever since then, as a group they have 2 cds worth of solid greatest hits, a lot more than many of the "famous" groups!

  • This concert--8/24/81--was the first date for me and the man i've been married to for 22 years now! Very cool to see the video...thanks for posting!

  • @DeAnnie64 I've been married for 19yrs now and I've seen MSB 5 times. My parents took me for my FIRST ever concert. Can't believe they didn't catch on past C'town! What a lost treasure!

  • Great stuff. Seems like audio could be a little bit hotter.

  • this is the 1st song my Tommy and I ever danced to...Lefty and Jim's March 1989!!!

  • OMG....I was at this concert and 2 others the same year, at The Agora and The Colliseum...What a blast from the past!!! Theses guys should have really made it big...such a shame...Cleveland Rocks!!

  • Never got the dues he deserved!!! always put on great shows

  • Who are the two assholes who gave this a thumb's down?

  • @JawsJaws must not be from Cleveland, or they just don't know great music.

  • All I can say is thank God for the man that put the white lines on the highway. That part always gives me chills!! Love MSB!!

  • grew up in Mayfield Hts Ohio and this brought back a lot of memories. Still know all the words.

  • i love this song it got me through my breakup my first love it does bring back alot of memories

  • my name is Michael Stanley, do i get any royalties for this? lol

  • I grew up in Rocky River Ohio, Michael went to our High school. Grate show's in the 70's & 80's. Long live MSB

  • great song one of the best thanks MSB

  • This group had as much or even more talent than a lot of groups from this era , its a shame politics kept them from being really big, regardless thanks for the memories for those of us that were able to live it with them

  • Michael is still doing House of Blues shows ocassionaly. Still DJing on 98.5 too!

  • Thanks for the memory. MSB was my first concert ever. Never forget the entire crowd singing that one line "thank God for the man that put the white lines on the highway."

Love to see them in a reunion gig.

  • @rileysfire The good memories my first also, it was at Muskingum College. They are/were at the time one of the only bands that did NOT change the way they did a concert from the way they did their concerts, except a few things!!. No extra oohhs, ahhs, changing what we came to see, what we loved to hear, good music.

    (ths sax)!

  • @myleftnostrilhair My first concert too! At BGSU in early '81.

  • Thank you to my brother....he made me burgers and turned me on to MSB....

and "snuck" me into the Lorain Drive Inn....

  • Oh...I was born in Elyria...and had the coolest older brother that turned me on to MSB! I'm sooo old now, 41, but I will never forget the vibe and the FEEL of MSB ever!!! I'm an absolute MSB fan!

  • I grew up with MSB as well....he makes me quiver in my boots. He IS my childhood.

  • such an underrated artist. i grew up too listening to msb. one the best songs he did. listen to this song when your alone driving on the highway in the middle of the night.

  • wow, i grew up to this, I mean, I was too young but I heard it from my mom playing - over and over and over and over

  • That sounds so good....One of the best from Ohio

  • GREAT SONG!!! Love Michael Stanley Band

  • This was back when seeing a concert at Blossom I was cool because now it sucks.

I saw MSB at Nautica is the early 90s.

  • HAHAHAHA me and you, buddy!

  • I wish they had the orginal version of this song. One of the BEST Sax songs !!!!!!!

  • Wish is one hand, horn jerk

    You have a whole new

  • Michael STanley's great, Blossom sucks. I wouldn't pay $2 to see anyone there again.

  • I was there and they were always great! I seen them 6 times and they always rocked it! Hometown heroes!

  • I wish some one would upload Nothing's goona change my mind. MSB's top tune.

  • i have look under the author of the song Jonah Koslen or under my videos

  • blossom isnt even in cleveland! its a long ways from cleveland. its outside cuyahoga falls.

  • I first heard these guys at the Agora in Columbus when a student at Ohio State. I wish I could remember the folks I attended with, but I guess it's been nearly 30 years . I do remember thinking that they were a great band. Sadly, like many other good ones, they never got the airplay they deserved outside of Ohio. At any rate, Go Bucks and long live good bands like MSB.

  • i got to see him last night at the taste of cleveland.

  • I was at this show! Yes, I am old. :-)

  • We're not old! I was there too! A teenager's highlight indeed!! =)

  • We aren't old! I was there also. He rocked it. I was a very lucky teen!!!

  • "Thank God for the man who put the white lines on the highway."

Cryin' and drivin' - been there, done that.

NO fun and not safe! Much love and respect to MSB.

  • Funny how that line has always stuck in my head. It's been 20+ years since i left Ohio. Now i work for the state of Nevada and my dept. really does paint the white lines on the highway.

  • lol. How funny. Somebody has to keep people on the road.

  • Oh that doesn't keep them on the road. We also replace miles of guardrail that they smash up.

  • Yeah this song reminds me of the good ol'e days

  • Thank you!!!!

  • F**** They're AWESOME MAN !!!

  • The AGORA Lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wish I could see his face LOL

  • They always were an under rated band. I think I got my love of sax music from these guys. Remember the old Agora in downtown Y-Town? I mean listen to that voice...oh it takes me back.....

  • Every Summer they'd SELLL OUT Blossom 3 nights in a row in minutes. I was at this one too--will never forget renting a Limo from Elyria with bf's (we're all late 50's now) Jack and Peggy. Partied until we ran into the road block outside-(that dumb one lane access road) Then mototckcle cop thought we were the BAND!!! Escorted us to the front door!!! THOSE WERE THE DAYS ,BLESS US ALL AND BLESS MSB. KICKIN ASS, NO NUMBERS REQUIRED!!!!

  • .... and I forgot Spittin' Image and McGuffey Lane, I could go on and on......

  • Another Ohio band that seemed to be a state secret, like the GODZ or Rosie. Man those were the days

  • man what memories! I saw them summer of '82 at Blossom music center. Still one of the best concerts i have ever been too. Started my senior year of high school listening to North Coast constantly!

  • thank god for the man who put the white lines on the highway!

  • Amen! Great comment.

  • A true fan knows who "MSB" is when you say that. :) Underated band...still a favorite here in Cleveland...the Heartland!!

  • My first concert with my first girlfriend. MSB, new years eve 1981 at the old and gone Richfield Coliseum. Got lost coming home. Great time, Great show, Great memories. That girlfriend is gone, but the music is still around.

  • God, I remember going to Ohio State in '81 and partying with my fraternity on High Street. MSB was the Band. Coming from Maryland I had no idea how they were the "State Band." If only I could turn back time.

  • MSB! Blossom!

  • Its so weird that when i talk to friends out of Ohio, and they have no idea who MSB is...Its just sad. Great Band!

  • That is my favorite question when I meet people from Ohio. I met a girl in her 20's the other night from Cleveland and she knew who MSB was.

  • "So I talk to the night, I head for the light,

Try and hold it on the road. . . Thank God for the man who put the white lines on the highway. . ." I was at one of this 3-night stand in August of '81. I loved how in later concerts Michael would hold the mic to the crowd for the "Thank God for the man who put the white lines on the highway" line - crowd LOVED it. Great concerts, great memories.

  • I took it as my own, drinving out to Grafton on the new 480 with the snow flying like hell. The Jr Senator didn't didn't get wet that night.

  • Yes, I miss them. Michael plays at different locations during the summer, but it isn't the same band. And 98.5!

  • god cant wait to see them at the kshe rock and cholestroll this saturday in saint louis

  • You guys see the contest in Cleveland? You can bid on EBay to win a chance to sing a song with Michael at Taste of Cleveland, some fundraiser for the Cleveland APL...

  • I went to Eddie Money at Pine Knob in Michigan in 82, because of a girlfried, with no listed opening band. Imagine my surprise when we came to the location and the Michael Stanley was listed as the opener! Forget about Eddie Money, all I wanted to see was MSB!

  • I cried my eyes out when the band split up.

  • me too!

  • Any of you guys ever hear this song late at night on the radio when you are driving alone? Holy cow.

  • Hey Dogg... Really you must be from the North Coast, because you don't here this stuff down here in Georgia! I love this, as it brings back memories of crushes growin up in AKRON, OHIO!

  • do u have a video of MSB singing Strike Up the Band?

  • You folks in Cleveland don't know how good you have it. I live in St Louis and never get to see him live again. Best live band.

  • This band was, and still is, so damn good. They will always have a big following especially in Northeast Ohio, but they were just as good as pretty much anyone out there during their time. This song is my favorite. I used to think that it could've made it onto the Eddie and the Cruisers soundtrack and nobody would've known the difference. Great band.

  • Does anyone have video of "Who's To Blame" from Cabin Fever? I'm in a spot and really need that song.

  • Michael Stanley is my uncle i sell t-shirts at his concert i go to most of them i grew up with him him and my dad work together he is my uncle i love him and he is awsome!!!

  • crazygirls - was that you that gave Michael and the rest of the band the stuffed puppies during the concert at Tangier's on Saturday night? I have been going to Michael Stanley concerts since I was 16 and am now 45 years old -- they just get better with age!!!!

  • yes that was me hah a little embarsing but i love them they r like fam but yeah i always got to go dance on the stge i aculy got to play the tamboreen and play mikes gutair

  • that was a great moment at a great show - hope to see them perform on the 29th

  • This is probably my favorite Michael Stanley Band song other than There's No Turning Back. I am actually going up to one of their concerts this summer with a bunch of friends and I'm really looking forward to it.

  • I was glad to find this site been looking for some MSB I grew up in Youngstown I live in Missouri now but there is nothing like a MSB song to take you back to the great times i had would love to see them get back and make it like they should have Thanks forever put this on here Frank

  • Aint that the truth!!! Nothing takes me back to the great times like MSB. I wish they would have reached the popularity they deserved. Love them, always.

  • Saw MSB open for Cheap Trick back in the day.

Cheap Trick should have opened for them! They Rocked!

  • Chills up my spine...haven't heard this song in years and was able to sing every word...great, great memories for this Ohio lady!!

  • I was at this concert sitting on the hill drunk as heck. What memories. I still have the MSB t-shirt I bought at the concert. So cool

  • lol I still have my MSB tshirt from almost 30 years ago - got tickets for their upcoming concert at Tangiers in a couple weeks - can't wait!!!!

  • Ha! I still have my MSB "NorthCoast" tee shirt too!! It's kinda funny when you hear all the "East Coast, West Coast" stuff that was happening with rap in the 90's....I was always like Pahleez....we were NorthCoast long before that! Michael is a radio personality now here in Ohio. Still LOVE MSB!

  • lol foolsfallinlove - I still have the T-Shirt from a long ago concert as well

  • And that darn t-shirt has holes in it and it still has this fresh smell to it. I am not kidding. . . it's so weird. Everytime I wear it, I have all these memories rush over me.

  • lol - I have my new Michael Stanley Tshirt from his show at Tangiers on Sat 3/29 right now

  • And that darn t-shirt has holes in it and it still has this fresh smell to it. I am not kidding. . . it's so weird. Everytime I wear it, I have all these memories rush over me.

  • Here is some news I got today from line level music for MS fan's. we are in the process of compiling a new DVD release, Michael Stanley's Bootleg Videos, which will consist of previously unavailable live performances and backstage antics from 1974 to the present! And of course, Michael Stanley is always busy in the studio working on his next release - we'll keep you posted

  • He came to Lorain by the Marina and sang this song, along with many others, and its just a great song and will always love it!

  • Hey Buster (Brown), do you remember this song?

  • Was at this concert!!! This is one of my all time favorite songs -- cool as hell that you have the video footage from this show !!!!

  • First concert this former Ohio girl ever went to. Thanks so much for sharing.

  • Why is that? Its a well written tune with great musicians. If it isn't your style of music, don't comment.

  • I was there! This rocks!! Lover is my favorite!

  • Wow!Wow! Wow! what a sound that I haven't heard in so long. Thanks to You tube for this wonderful site now I can listen to MSB in the south

  • I know what you mean. I looooooooove Michael's

music, all of it. I live near Dallas. Once upon a time I had a boyfriend, from Ohio, who listened to him. The relationship didn't last, but I've been listening to the music for(good grief!!) 19 yrs now. Since hes a DJ too you can call him up. I did. Now that was just plain COOL. He's nice. I sing his songs to my kids as lullabyes :)

  • do you all remember who plays sax on the album? clarence "the man" clemens!!!!!

  • He also did it on "He Can't Love You"

  • Thanks for the memories and continueing to be a huge part of my life! Life would not be the same without MSB!

  • My fav MSB song. Thanks for sharing it.

  • MSB Still Rules in Cleveland Air Space! I believe they were definitely among ther highest selling tickets. Not many bands have sold out as many nights in a row as they did. Keep on Rocking MSB,.. Keep on Rocking!! I now live in the NYC tri-state area,...and these videos really bring me back home to a much happier time!!!

  • I have two Michael Stanley Band albums that are in good condition for sale. The two that I have are Heartland and Greatest Hits. Send me a message through my YouTube account if you are interested.

  • I still remember when they played Blossom and sold out 5 nights! Or, is my memory getting bad and it was only 4 nights?? Anywho, that is still 80 to 100 thousand tickets sold!!

  • Great song...brings back memories of NE Ohio

  • I ran across these guys in a bargain bin $1.99 in southern Pa. Best buy I ever made, been hooked ever since.

  • The first and only time I saw them was at the Agora supporting the MSB album. I was 15. I still love them to this day, 24 years later. I lost all my vinyl years ago, but found them on iTunes!

  • Why didn't they make it out of NE OH? I'm still jamming....

  • Because he's "world famous in Cleveland."

  • yeah!

  • One of my favorite MSB tunes. Saw them a bunch. I think I had lawn seats for this one. Thanks lots.

  • I saw Michael Stanley Band play at Blossom Music Center back in the 80's....he was there along with Stevie Nicks...AWESOME!!!

  • Reminds me of high school... WMMS on Friday @ 6:00, heading downtown for a party in the park. Thanks.
