  • Awesome playing dave8326, you should check out the original by a guy named Larry Davis its fantastic. If you love SRV's playing Larry's version has some great licks that were a huge influence on stevie, as well as Al and Freddie King, Earl Hooker and Buddy Guy to name a few. Keep up the great work!

  • Great Playing and great SRV tone! Are you using any effects and are the p90's noisy. I had a beautiful Mohogany Stat but sold it because the single coil noise was so annoying. Also, are you tuned down like SRV.

  • Well done, I am so envious, both the guitar and your ability.

  • AMAZING!!!

  • you give me hope for the younger generation, thats

     style kid

  • Are you self taught? Really good stuff.

  • great job!!!!!!

  • make another vid of freebird

    shit was awesome

  • Eric Clapton made 6 Channels to dislike this video :D

  • @Texasblues89 I think Clapton loves it when someone who is a young talent like this guy plays blues rock stuff really well and soulfully. Don't see where that comment is coming from.

  • damn good job man, I usually don't like gibsons (im a strat guy) but you've convinced me to give them another shot and try out these guitars. Love the gold top

  • Dude! excellent playing & sound! but I think it's called a Les paul 60's tribute. I want one!!!!!!

  • @popsiclebloodbarf

Thanks man. And this actually is a Les Paul 50s tribute. They made the 60s tribute, which has a slimmer neck, but they first made the 50s tribute which has a 50s-style neck. They're essentially the same - the only difference is the neck. I also think they might have made fewer of the 50s tribute.

  • He gets good srv tone because this guitar has P-90 single coil pickups in it...great job btw, I think i need your teachers number haha

  • Damm you look different than the older vids!

  • 7 people who know you and are jealous were here ^^

  • they say sound comes from your fingers, and if you get such a tone very similar to a strat on a LP then it's a proof that you got talent dude, congrats ;)

  • Beautiful Job, Rock on!

  • amazing

  • you got it kid - keep it up

  • You rock ! I'll try that on my strat

  • You rock ! I'll try that on my strat

  • Oh yea, the other reason why it's great to learn the master guitar players note for note is to develop your ear. Doing it teaches you how to listen well and how to play what you hear.

It also develops your musical memory because you have to think when you play.

There is nothing wrong with jamming and doing your own thing but it doesnt develop your ear or musical memory. It uses a different side of the brain... the creative side.

10 million kids can jam, but only a handful can do this!

  • Great job!! For the people who want to know why you learn other master guitar players stuff note for note .......1) because you can! (to the naysayers ...if you could do it too you would understand, but because you can't, you don't get it 2) it's the best way to learn !! 3) you can always do your own thing anytime you want and mix in a little of what you learned ......... Great job again!

  • i dont get why people learn songs like this note for note. guitar playing is about feeling and soul, stevie played this song differently every time. it sounds good, but would be much better if you did your own thing.

  • dude lovin the shirt bro!!!... n u can jam on tht guitar... nice job

  • RUSH FTW!;D

  • How long have been playing?

  • @TheMrFlamingskull

I've been playing since 5th grade. Thanks!

  • @dave8386 You are good!! I hope you become the next Ritchie Blackmore...

  • @dave8386 and you're in what grade now

  • Its the P-90's I bet...That exact guitar is next on my list, the goldtop looks beautiful!

  • waoowwww

  • So freaking solid!!! Do some Rush next!

  • @dave8386 Can you sing??

  • sick playing and sick shirt! good job man :)

  • Great job kid. You remind me of myself when I started playing 30yrs ago...sad thing is that you are already better than me. I STILL can't hit that first riff on Texas Flood. I should have taken lessons. Learning by ear only goes so far.

  • Dude you play SIck!! keep jammin cuzz and id like to see a cover of scuttle buttin by stevie ray vaughn that song is sweet.

  • Dude can you sing? I'd love to hear you without the backing track.

  • Really nice man... i think playing with those p90's pickups is hard and need skill what you have ;)

  • And wearing the Rush shirt... thanks for being so awesome :D.

  • @Rushisftw

Haha I was hoping someone would notice! I just had to wear it in one of my videos - it's actually my dad's shirt from the actual 1977-78 Farewell to Kings tour! I love it so much! It's my favorite shirt from by far my favorite band in all of the Planets of the Solar Federation!!!

  • @dave8386 Haha sick wearing mine right now from their most recent tour was amazing :D.

  • @Rushisftw

Haha I'm sure I have the same shirt you're talking about. That tour was amazing. My dream is still for them to play 2112 in its entirety live, though. Haha. I love Temples of Syrinx, but I think it just gets better and better. Then again, I have a billion songs I would die to see them play live.

  • @dave8386 If you played 2112 in it's entirety, I'd pay good money to see that.

  • dude you gotta make more videos your fcken sick as hell

  • Could you do eruption again?!!!!

    IM BEGGING YOU!!!

  • re do this with a Strat brother and get Stevie's real sound!!! your great but a Gibson with Stevie cover's cmon now. You smoke me and im 27 get you a good 50th anniversary strat :)

  • Nice!

  • great job! i was suprised u got a good srv tone outta the les paul. hah.

  • @kcin1004

Same here! It beat out my Fender Strat for SRV tone! God knows how haha.

  • @dave8386 but i still prefer that good ol' strat feel while playing stevie tunes. haha.

  • @dave8386 its not the guitar. just like stvie said "play low, tune high and floor it - thats technical talk"

  • wow great playing. lucky you got one of those right away? sold out incredibly fast.

  • @diceksox1809

I bought it off eBay for 1200 bucks. It was worth it at the end. I just saw one at Guitar Center recently but the wood they use for these is obviously like their scrap wood because this one had a HUGE knot in it. I guess I got lucky and got the good wood =)

  • Wonderful guitar and wonderful guitar player. You rock guy!!

  • Great job! Beautifully done! I would agree with the others here, though, that you need to work on the how you deliver part. Blues comes from inside you, man! Let the music take you! BTW - I loved Eugene's Trick Bag - awesome! ♫♫

  • awesome video and this sounds just like the original song. you are the man and you rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ahh my pride and joy ;)

    I like
