I love how it tries to get you scared for the first half and then suddenly it turns into a family comedy out of nowhere. What can I say? It's Japanese.
My wife's morning breath could take out Gamera OR Godzilla. They should make a movie about that. Then I would be rich and move to Tokyo and rent my wife out to monster studios and retire and have my own swimming pool.

yeah, you got a point. i mean, just from a combat experience point of view. Godzilla a hell of a lot more monsters than gamera, so I guess techincally, he's the seasoned vet. And zilla? Hell, I have godzilla: final wars, and in the scene where godzilla fight zilla, i do believ it takes godzilla less than 10 seconds to kill zilla. little gamera ( i will not call him toto) could kick that thing's ass, and I'm talking about when he's only the size of a truck. he could still kick zilla's ass.
It's up to the script writers. Both of them are kings of their respective studios. Godzilla is able to manuver better on land while Gamera can fly. Both use breath weapon special attacks. Both are comfortable under water.
A better scenario may be Godzilla and Gamera working together to defeat other opponents (like a Gaus invasion led by Ghidera/Monster-X or another alien flying saucer fleet).
The monster's name is Zedus, and while it does bear some similarities to the Gojira suit designs in some of the Millenium series movies, it isn't him.
that was his enemy jadis....gamera in this flick looks like...squrtle from pokemon...with out the squrrel tail...with good reason....hes actually a baby in this film

the kid calls the Gamera "Toto" because that's what his mom called him. His mom had died earlier in the year, so I guess it reminds him of her
