@humbabwe He doesn't do that. Tarrantino speaks like that always, it's a constant mesh of styles. I have ADHD, I can tell a mile off he has it and it's also from growing up around a mix of cultures.

At around 1:08 he says they don't shoot the film at a quicker speed so when you run it the footage looks faster. Clearly, he meant to say they don't shoot the film at a SLOWER speed.

Why would he mean that? If a film runs twice as fast then the cars will look like they're moving twice as fast.

Filmmakers sometimes slow down the film speed when they film a chase so that when the final film is run at the proper (faster) speed again, the original footage appears faster.

This is what he was referring to, but it just came out wrong when he quickly explained it. If you shoot the film fast, then play it regular speed, the footage would appear slower. Quentin indeed knows what he's talking about, no question, he just accidentally said it wrong here, that's all I meant.

Tarantino might be a great director but his grasp of physics ain't too hot! The camera car doesn't need to go any faster than the stunt car in order to stay in front of it... it needs to travel at the same speed. Duh!

He's talking about getting the shots. The shot isn't always DIRECTLY in front of the car, you need to move the camera around (and if there's going to be a crash you'd better get the fuck out of the way pretty quick as well) so I'm pretty sure that's what he's talking about. Have a nice day. DUH!
