at the end of the video, guile's ultra only hit for 4 hits while his opponent is up in the air, is this a way to waste a good ultra?

good ultra? Guile has one of the worst ultras in the game. Use it any chance you can get.

when i first started playing SF i learned with guile. when SF4 came out I was sad bc I couldnt do the special and ultra, but is took my guile to another level. i still havent gotten the combos down in a fight but this helped lots. thanks. any tutorials on the combos you do?????

probably one of the best Guile players in the world. But I don't see to many video's of his actually playing people. It is a shame guiles' Airforce Kick or 'Strike Kick' can be beaten out by other characters normals. I think the Strike Kick should have more priority over normals and I also feel that it should miss so often when the other person is jumping. Most characters change the direction of their Ultra as the other chacter is jumping in over them.. it's a dirty shame about guile

not sure about a difference in responsiveness, but the SE stick has been know to break under heavy use. Most people replace the stick and buttons with sanwa parts.

i got one 2 days ago and im already better with that than the controller and ive had the game since release. its pretty easy transfer especially if you have arcade combos ingrained in your head.

Should one use the Arcade stick option in the menu , is that better or something ?

Also on the madcatz controller there is an option to use the stick as left joypad stick as Dpad and right stick,should i leave it at Dpad ?

use the arcade stick only if you have arcade stick i think, it seems to make the motion lag on the controller when i do it

the arcade stick option only changes the options for button configs to make it easier to use inside or outside buttons.

Also, MadCatz makes a nice stick that I believe is a little less expensive, but might not be as great as the official one. As far as mastering it, it really all depends on your skill level. If your naturally talented, or a fighting game/SF vet, you'll pick it up quick, but if your new, your just gonna have to stay dedicated and practice all the time (I was relatively new to SF, and after around 70-80 hours of play time, I can say I'm pretty good)

Yea, I know what you mean, being a guile player myself, my thumb really starts to hurt after an hour or two of charging again and again on a controller.

yea, it's about 100 times better/more accurate.

Controllers are unresponsive and difficult to pull off complex combos with (Though not totally impossible, I can pull off the little technique Gilley shows in this vid)

But trust me, I've used both, and it makes a WORLD of difference.

hey guys - for you of those who have the arcadestick or even the tournament . (i'm using a PS3 but i assume its the same on XBOX360)

Is there any diff to using the switch on either the stick being D-PAD or the Left-Thumb stick (aka the xbox d-pad/thumbstick)? I realize the thumbsticks are actually analog and i believe the d-pads are digital. but I haven't felt a real difference....between the 2..

the difference you wont notice in SF but the analog aka thumb stick mode allows for more precise movements in other games that would have say a short hop, where as the Dpad mode is always max up down left right ect it has no feathering mode i guess.

Thanks for the tips, although its inevitably going to be a lot harder to pull off on a standard 360 controller. For Guile's Super/Ultra, I've been using DB (2) -> DF -> DB -> UB+K which I've found a lot easier than the diagonal. Doesn't matter for Guile, but Vega will jump to the wall behind him rather than in front if you use this motion for his Super/Ultra. Although sometimes its better, depending on the position of the opponent. Will try out the reverse tiger knee motion later :)

I've done the sonic boom cancel into the super using the Dual Shock 3, and I was finally able to pull off the flack kick cancel into the super using the negative edge method. I still need to learn the timing to perform the super into the Ultra combo. I'm finding it extreme hard to do on the D-pad.

Ironically, I can hit the Ultra motion in tight situations like 95% of the time (clutch reversals, jump ins, etc.) but when it comes to doing an Ultra right after someone else's Ultra, when you have like 2 - 4 seconds of just watching them charge up, I can only do it like 10% of the time.

I found a nice way to do the Low M.P, Flash Kick, Double Flash.

Basically you're charging down-left, press MP, then you go all the up like you're doing a tiger knee and press KICK (going count clockwise from down left), then you continue to go counter clockwise till you make another full circle and press KICK again, and that inputs the command for the Double Flash. Basically you're kinda doing two counter clockwise 360 motion after the Low M.P. Any questions lemme know. Thanks.

The Hori EX2 (at least it used to be) fairly cheap, and it at least gets the job down.

I use that and the Standard Edition Mad Catz as well, and overall prefer...though it was 80 dollars for xbox.

You'll never find the Tournament Edition version (which he's using in the video). It's the best of the sticks, but also $150 and impossible to find now.
