clever but simple, put a mirror anyware on the the ground, shin a spinning laser or something that projects circles at the mirror, then trace the outline of the lasers on the wall. remove the laser projector and when you line your eyes up in the same position as the origin of the laser projector you will see circles outlined on the wall.

@tombobzine, you know what I think would be really cool illusions to make if somebody had enough free time and ladders, imagine this effect with spray painted dots in a bunch of trees, and maybe when you line up to it, it could spell something out or make a really cool design. Also it would be neat to watch it deform as the trees grow by setting up a time lapse type camera configuration.
