hey where did you get that intake? I am lookig for a cool ass intake and I dont kow the name of the covers but there are 2 one on each side where did you find some that do not say honda
@mgeary1970 The intake is called hurricane intake.. I forget who the maker was. I got it from J.T at bikerperformance , Jt is great to deal with as well and beats most prices. The jetting on the hurricane can be very tricky depending on how hard you ride it and your elevation. I found 136-138 was the best combo for jet sizes, you always want your rear jet a bit richer as it effects the rear jug which will run hotter than the front. The side covers are the stock honda covers painted.
Hollywood, Thats a Granucci solo seat it came from Bill at 3w's billski182 . c o m and has a pillion that comes with it. Cant find a better looking seat.. though for long trips.. not too comfy. he is great to deal with.. give him yo' money!
may be a stupid question, but can you get the stock rear fender cut down and if so who would i need to contact for that (ex. motorcycle body shop, service station, ect.)? Also how much does that usually run a person? thanks man.
@A1mafia Hey man, you COULD cut down the stock fender.. it is white plastic underneath that paint though. I would cut off about 2 1/2" inches from the back and save it. Then trace the finished end onto your fender at the length you want and cut it with a dremel tool and use a buffing disc to get it smooth to the line you drew. or buy a steel fender off ebay thats 9" wide and cut that down. thats what I did. Then you can throw away your subframe, get lower to tire and still carry a passenger.
What size progessive shocks did you get? I have the Dunlop replacement for the Stock Bridgestone which is a little bigger. I want to lower the rear with the progressive shocks but dont want to tire rubbing the rear fender. Thanks for your responce!
Hey Riraorpa , the Hurricane breather fits the airsock once you take of the stock airbox. It bolts to an aluminum collar that seals up to the stock air box boot. ( I used a little bit of gasket sealer to make it leak proof) Now.. The breather is heavy and once in the wind and hitting vibrations.. its going to fall off. I made a bracket out of a 1" x 6" strip of Aluminum which I drilled and attatched to the rear fin casing on the jug and bent a couple 90* turns in so it bolts to the breather.
You WILL have to jet the bike afterwards , as you have just let that sucker BREATHE!!! Think of a jogger with a snorkel in his mouth.. thats how your bike is running stock. The Spirit needs to breathe for best performance, that means straight pipes with torque cones and a breather. Its a bitch to dial that breather in... but once you get it the bike will run great with little effort. You might also think about scrapping the rear 42 tooth sprocket and getting a 37 tooth instead. Best mod ever!!!
Thank you so much coolhand, you've been very helpful. I think you got the most beautiful spirit 750. I'll make a video of mine soon. Mine is a yellow 2002.
No problem , and thank you for the compliments.. I miss this bike alot. Great bike for the $ ! Remember when you are jetting the bike to run the breather... the rear cylinder runs a little hotter than the front.. so maybe try a jet a bit bigger in the rear.. say 134 /136 or 136/138 as a starting point and go from there. Better to be rich than running lean! Best of luck!
Any aftermarket airkit will be roughly the same.. a straight induction pipe and a K&N filter stuck on the end. If you get ahold of Factory Pro on their website (google it), You can either write or call them and tell them your setup and elevation.. they should set you right up with what you need. I'd get either a Dynojet kit or factory pro... Cobra sucks.
Now... last time you told me that I needed bigger jets, something like 134 /136 or 136/138, and i notice that Dynojet Stage 1 Jet Kit for the spirit 750 2002 comes with jets from 100 to 108. That's not enough right?
Know what's funny.. the new Honda Fury coming out looks A LOT like yours. Now you're going to have a lot of weekend riders asking "Is that the new fury?" lol
Fury looks NOTHING like the spirit... has a high front end, mono shock, shaft drive, runs on a VTX1300 powerplant and has a frame stretch that shows space between the engine and gas tank. Besides... that bike sold last year and now I am riding a Roadstar with a 240mm tire, King peanut gastank and 18" ape hangers. Thanks for looking at the vids though.,
the shocks on it are made by "Progressive suspension" . They are model # 412 and measure 11" eye to eye. They make 2 different model 412's.. these are NOT the heavy duty coils. However... 3xw bikerperformance dot kom and JT or Brian will hook you right up with a bolt on Hardtail for the VT750DC. Looks killer and the price is pretty decent!
great bike!...just wondering what kind and where you got the vertical license plate frame? and what exactly is it mounted to? i have a 2006 shadow 750 spirit and would like to move my license plate down vertically. thanks!
Great looking bike and tastefully done. It looks like something you would want to actually ride, unlike some of the outrageous chopper designs you see that are suited for an indoor show more than anything else.
Thanks for the compliments.. I rode the HELLOUTTA that bike. Took it on a few long distance road trips, not too comfy on the back or butt after 5 hours on it ripping up the hiways.. but its not about the ride.. its about how cool you look pulling into your destination LOL. Thanks again.
Pretty ride!!! She really looks great! Where did you find the fender setup? I've been looking for the half-rear for my Shadow 1100 for a while with no success...
Thats an Avon Venom-X 170. I love the tire, I have a Metzeller on the front because the front fender is so low, the Metz tire wont expand into it at speed. The biggest tire you can put on a stock SS750 rim is the Metzeller 200mm HOWEVER.. the way the tire sits on the bead of the rim looks stupid. Its all bulged out and just looks pinched. The way the AVON tire flares out at the tread.. the AVON 170 actually looks bigger when its mounted.
Hey Azwop, add me as your friend on here and Ill do the same. I have a camera mount from Sik at 3xW. bikerperformance . com (shameless plug) , so I'm allways adding new stuff and taking out the old uncool shyte ;)
Your bike looks very cool - I dig the stretched tank and the raked front end. Check out my shadow on YOUTUBE just type in motoscott311 in the search line and it's in my video list. I think I'm going to rake mine like yours!!! GOOD WORK FOR YOUR FIRST BIKE!!
The bike has raked 7* triple trees and 3" fork extensions from billski182 (youtube wont let me give the URL but put 3 w's in front of that and a com at the end.) Bill is a great guy to deal with and his custom parts are top quality.
Thanks man.. That rear fender started life as a West Coast Choppers 9" "Roller". I have about 6 hours into sculpting it as it had to be cut on both ends and radius cut. I am pretty proud of how the bike turned out, its my first bike and I've been forced to learn all this stuff on my own off the internet. Its a great feeling though when someone comes up and asks me who I had bulid the bike. Thanks for the comps.

Dude, i got a 2002 spirit 750, and recently bought a similar air filter, but there's no way to install it, how did you make it?
Did you have issues with the carburetor after you intalled it?

Hey Coolhand, sorry to bother you so many times.
I've been looking for a nice jet kit. Please, I really need your help with this.
For you to have an idea, I bought the CHROME SPIKE AIR CLEANER INTAKE HONDA SPIRIT ACE 750 from ebay, please if you can do the search.
I found a Dynojet Stage 1 Jet Kit, a Cobra Stage 1 Jet Kit, and a Factory Configuration 10 Recalibration Pro Kit, all this on denniskirk.
Can you please help me to know which of these kits will work?. Thanks.
