The video doesn't really say the whole story. The gypsies are not forced to put their children to "special school", this is only recomendation. Main reason for this is that 6 years old roma children usualy can't recognize colors, animals, shapes, some of them can't even speak czech. And a big part of this stands on parents of those children.
Another problem is that if you want to make it differently, the non-roma community still judge you about their own old stereotypes.

In the Czech Republic you can get education without paying for it - even universities (universities is about to change and start paying for these)! You MUST attend the elementary school, wich gives you basic education. Yes, there are special schools. My brother (white) attended to some of these, with Romas and other whites. He continued in study and he's working nowadays. It's been difficult but he's not dependent on goverment or parents money anymore.

And foreigners who have never been to the Czech (or Slovak) Republic and probably who have never met any Gipsy at all are shocked, that we treat that poor Roma so badly. 90% of them are not interested in education at all. When they come to 1st class they often cant speak Czech, they dont know colours. They rarely study, dont do homework. They are often absent and when they come, they only disturb. And their parents dont anything against it. So they know much less than other children in the class and the teachers dont have time to work with them individually. Thats why they need slower pace and thats why they are replaced to special schools.

I won't dispute the objectivity, as this would take more than a few comments on Youtube. The reportage is a nicely wrapped lie. These pictures (school and the building at the end) are not from Beroun (although it may be a village very near). To go for one hour to a school everyday in Beroun would make you a nice trip sightseeing trip around the city (it has altogether 18000 inhabitatnts)!! Believe it or not we have also a public transport system, which collects all the workers and pupils.......
....and takes them to their duties EVERYDAY. Why the children don't use it? Don't ask me :-) Beroun also has majority of elegant streets and is not a slum city as presented by this reportage, you can reach it by highway (15 minutes by car from Prague) and you could barely find devastated houses like that. If you wanna check go and see czech google (cz) and search for "Beroun". Generally, there might be problems between white and Roma population, as i said above,......

Romas are not well-known in the world and that is fortunate. In the Eastern EU they are allowed to get away with horrific crimes which is why people hate them in general. Romas live isolated because people run away from them. They practically live outside the law - the police can't do anything to prevent some of them from victimizing others, the governments will never integrate them because the people of Europe refuse to accept them and they are within their right.

I am a well educated american-roma and know the gypsy history. For centuries we overcame abuse. This is why gypsies are the way they are. Without education your countries will have this problem forever. Only education on both sides will solve the problem. Special schools are not needed for us because in countries like america we do just as good as other races - here in the US we have doctors, lawyers, etc. We contribute to society and this can happen in Europe if you will let it.

There was a case where a 15 years old gypsy kid sexually harrassed an 18 year old hungarian girl, tied her to a tree and poured gas all over her, and burned her while alive. This girl lived 3 more weeks in pain and agony. And our politicians are saying that there is no gypsy crime in Hungary. If you help the gypsy, you are actually helping criminals. In the regular school the teacher has about 25 children to class and he is unable to pay anough attention to those, that can't catch up with lessons, while "special" schools have usually no more then 8 children in class, with often one or two assistents for the most disabled ones. So as the children who attended "special" school can read and count in the 3rd grade, those who come from the regular schools are far behind and usually have problems to read simple syllables (no matter what their
ethnic origin is. Statistically the percentage of roma people in special classes is about tripple in 4+ grades then in 1st grade. And finally, the parents must agree to have their children sent to attend special school.
Of course, having less children in regular school classes, providing assistants for those who need it (especially roma children) and also giving them extra classes would help, but this model will be beyond czech economical options for years to come.
This is total bullshit. The former "special schools" (which were renamed to assure that the future employer will not recognize the people's background based on the school's name on the final paper) have at the beginning the most of the children disabled, but in 2-3 years the roma children that are unable to catch up in the regular schools, as their parents don't pay any attention to the childrens education and moreover they frequently encourage them not to learn, they end up in the specialschool

The video doesn't really say the whole story. The gypsies are not forced to put their children to "special school", this is only recomendation. Main reason for this is that 6 years old roma children usualy can't recognize colors, animals, shapes, some of them can't even speak czech. And a big part of this stands on parents of those children.
Another problem is that if you want to make it differently, the non-roma community still judge you about their own old stereotypes.

In the Czech Republic you can get education without paying for it - even universities (universities is about to change and start paying for these)! You MUST attend the elementary school, wich gives you basic education. Yes, there are special schools. My brother (white) attended to some of these, with Romas and other whites. He continued in study and he's working nowadays. It's been difficult but he's not dependent on goverment or parents money anymore.

90% of them are not interested in education at all. When they come to 1st class they often cant speak Czech, they dont know colours. They rarely study, dont do homework. They are often absent and when they come, they only disturb. And their parents dont anything against it. So they know much less than other children in the class and the teachers dont have time to work with them individually. Thats why they need slower pace and thats why they are replaced to special schools.

I won't dispute the objectivity, as this would take more than a few comments on Youtube. The reportage is a nicely wrapped lie. These pictures (school and the building at the end) are not from Beroun (although it may be a village very near). To go for one hour to a school everyday in Beroun would make you a nice trip sightseeing trip around the city (it has altogether 18000 inhabitatnts)!! Believe it or not we have also a public transport system, which collects all the workers and pupils.......

Don't ask me :-) Beroun also has majority of elegant streets and is not a slum city as presented by this reportage, you can reach it by highway (15 minutes by car from Prague) and you could barely find devastated houses like that. If you wanna check go and see czech google (cz) and search for "Beroun". Generally, there might be problems between white and Roma population, as i said above,......

Romas are not well-known in the world and that is fortunate. In the Eastern EU they are allowed to get away with horrific crimes which is why people hate them in general. Romas live isolated because people run away from them. They practically live outside the law - the police can't do anything to prevent some of them from victimizing others, the governments will never integrate them because the people of Europe refuse to accept them and they are within their right.

I am afraid that there are no Neanderthals, who would send us there. Europe is our home, Gypsies are alien invaders, who evolved in a completely different enviroment and don't belong here. If we left them alone, most of them would die within one winter (Well, they would probably survive two winters, thanks to food stolen in the supermarket :).

I am a well educated american-roma and know the gypsy history. For centuries we overcame abuse. This is why gypsies are the way they are. Without education your countries will have this problem forever. Only education on both sides will solve the problem. Special schools are not needed for us because in countries like america we do just as good as other races - here in the US we have doctors, lawyers, etc. We contribute to society and this can happen in Europe if you will let it.

tony , there is no segregation here. all schools enroll both romanians and gypsy kids. its just the gypsy/roma dont want to go to school. very few of them actually want to learn or to have a career. and those who earn honest money usually do not admit they are gypsy/roma.
it is not the education , it is more complicated...i say its their traditions that make them live this way. traditions that make them marry when they are 12-14 (arranged marriages) .

The Jews have white privilege (now) which makes them more visible, while the Roma do not. It is not that they are better or worse, it is that we sympathize with one group because it is more visible, and we tend to forget the other group exists (IE people dressing up as "Gypsies" for halloween not knowing that they are real, let alone that they face racism). It is really quite sad that we only remember the Holocaust as it happened to one people, instead of it happening to one segment of humanity.

With the current hysteria around racism and discrimination, they became virtually untouchable and have many priviliges that an ordinary citized can only dream of. They don't have to pay for rent, water or electricity, they don't pay for tickets in a tram. When they destroy their houses, their don't end in the street like ordinary citizens would - they start to cry "Give us new houses!" - and they get them, and destroy them the same way after several years.

Do you know, why they are "segregated in special schools"? Google "General mental ability in South Asians". Everywhere in Europe, where tests of their IQ were conducted, they show abyssmally low values on the borderline of mental retardation (in fact, one of the lowest ever measured in some group of Homo sapiens). They can't attend a "normal school", where they would only hold their schoolmates back, not speaking about that they would disturb the whole class, and rob and assault other kids.

In some Czech towns, where "segregation" is not perfect, special patrols composed of Czech parents must have been formed to guard their kids, who were assaulted by gangs of little Gypsies in the front of the school. No wonder that Czech parents move their kids from schools, where Gypsies numerically dominate, to other schools, where they can get proper education, not being disturbed by their aggressive behaviour. In Hungary we have the same problem. There was a case where a 15 years old gypsy kid sexually harrassed an 18 year old hungarian girl, tied her to a tree and poured gas all over her, and burned her while alive. This girl lived 3 more weeks in pain and agony. And our politicians are saying that there is no gypsy crime in Hungary. If you help the gypsy, you are actually helping criminals. These people are not humans, neither animals.

In Hungary a highschool teacher was driving through a gypsy village, with his 3 children in the back seat (5, 10, 12 yr old). A gypsy girl ran accross the street and was hit only with the mirror of the car. The teacher stopped, to offer aid to the 14 years old girl, who had only minor injuries, but a mob of 50 (i said 50) gypsies, beat the teacher to death within 15 minutes in front of his children who were watching the whole scene in horror. But there is no gypsy crime in Hungary.

The gypsy children are being sent to special schools simply because their family pre-school preparation - and maybe centuries of life imprinted in genes (IQ around 25 points below the white average) - would make their life among typical white children extremely unpleasant.

In the regular school the teacher has about 25 children to class and he is unable to pay anough attention to those, that can't catch up with lessons, while "special" schools have usually no more then 8 children in class, with often one or two assistents for the most disabled ones. Of course, having less children in regular school classes, providing assistants for those who need it (especially roma children) and also giving them extra classes would help, but this model will be beyond czech economical options for years to come.

The former "special schools" (which were renamed to assure that the future employer will not recognize the people's background based on the school's name on the final paper) have at the beginning the most of the children disabled, but in 2-3 years the roma children that are unable to catch up in the regular schools, as their parents don't pay any attention to the childrens education and moreover they frequently encourage them not to learn, they end up in the specialschool
