  • you cant use that tecnique in battle.

  • @PurgeToDeath Obviously you would know, being an Archer and a Samurai.. WOW the stories you could tell. And, to think the battles you must have been in! Truly fantastic insight!!

  • ezek azok a nagy szamurájok akik fostak a magyaroktól szóval tőlünk és itt pofáznak a szaros íjaikkal amikor a mienk jobbak a Kassai Lajos is itt van nálunk szóval...

  • @TheMetin256 a szamurájok sohasem találkoztak a magyarokkal :)

szerintem mind a magyaroknak, mind a japánoknak vannak kitűnő íjászaik, de mivel teljesen más íjat és technikát használnak, nem hiszem, hogy össze kéne hasonlítani a kettőt...

  • Guns should never have been invented.

  • the way of the warrior is so elegent and its amazing how your "weapon" becomes an extention of your body with patience

  • 1:36

    That would hurt...

  • what are the materials of a bow?such as the string and the wood and the arrow?someone pls?

  • @GsxRaider The materials differ with every type of bow. same as the inside shape. But The most expencive but Greatest material is bamboo. but most or students use carbon or glass fiber bows. bamboo is too expensive and last so little.

There are different strings as well. There are Hemp strings and compound strings. Hemp strings are good but last for only about 100 arrows but compound strings can last a good 500.

  • @someguyaccount thanks,im refering the yumi japanese bow(the traditional and wood one) so bow only last for about 100 arrows while firearms last loo long.how bout the competition bow which are made of some kind of alloy?how long does it lastS?

  • @GsxRaider The traditional ones are all made of bamboo. The carbon or glass fiber ones Last basically for ever. I've never heard a bow that is made of carbon ever break. But They do start to loose the power, but not much. By only like 10%. Bamboo bows could last long. It depends on the user. If the user uses it correctly it could last a while. But they basically all break at one point.

  • @someguyaccount thanks! i just found out that archery is a good sport and bought a samick bow,i also wanted to have yumi bow but i dunno where i can get one,.but i dont want it anymore,as you said it has a disadvantage, yumi bows dont last a life time.thanks a lot men,you probably a japanese guy?youre so fluent.

  • @GsxRaider I'm a japanese 9th grader with a good 4 years in Australia. I do Kyudo and am the captain of the middle school kyudo club. I've also got in second place twice in tournaments.

  • Hi man like your name XD

  • wow those targets were either small or those arrows were huge haha

  • This is grate i have a green belt in aikido. Its great too know the life of the samurai

  • @TheStalker272 LOL.

  • fear is your only enemy .. why do you aim meticiously with your eye instead of just aiming somehow without looking at bow or arrow letting your heart aim and oyur mind choose the target ... isn´t your heart over your body ??

  • what was the prize?

  • Nice shot near the end :)

  • Interesting bow design, not the bow staff. Almost a cross between a longbow and a re curve.

  • well ok the yumi bow is a recurve design, it is designed for shooting off horseback and can be right or left handed, its fired from about 2/3 the way down the bow and they are often about 7 foot tall, and are a composit bow of bamboo and another type of wood, then laqured in urashi.

the reason this is fired slow is it is zen archery not battle archery its a type of meditation, and the art of this is kyudo, its the only thing a yumi is used for but they can be built with enough power to hunt.

  • @manga12 The Yumi bow is uniquely Japanese. It is a laminated bow not a composite bow. Horse archers chose the recurved composite bows as it's compact size made it more suitable for horseback achery. However, samurais managed to develop techniques to utilize the yumi which is a longbow on horseback archery. The length of a longbow made it difficult to be used on horseback. The kyudo has spiritual properties and practicing it is a form of meditation.

  • no chanse to win in real fight.....it takes to much time...archer will be killed many times.

  • @cocozinya This is kyudo. Most often, when a Japanese martial art ends with "do", it focuses more on the spirit of the art and inner development, not full out combat. Iaido for example can be used in combat, but iaijutsu is more focused on making the right cuts and dodging the enemy's attack rather than executing a kata perfectly with perfect focus and spirit. Kyudo is very meditative and doesnt care if they hit the target or not. Thats why they sometimes shoot really close range targets.

  • @LotusDragon09 Thak you very much for an explanation of Kyudo art. If we(georgian, caucasus) had even 10% of staying power as samurai does, we wouldn't have so many problems today :-)))))

    Regards!

  • @cocozinya I think we all need a little bit of the samurai spirit in ourselves. We need to place honor above ourselves and take pride in what we do. Of course not every samurai reflected this, but you get my point.

  • @LotusDragon09 Yes, I've got it and thanks for such interesting dialog...

    Wish you well!

  • Great Japan!

  • yes

  • sort of kneeling

  • it hit perfectly in the middle...
