Wow, that would be quite an accomplishment if you made it, and I'll be sure to check out your stuff sometime. And if you ask me, it seems like the people at plant city are all the same, we got one of thier trombone players about a year and a half ago, and all he could do was talk about plant city and "how good they were" and "how good he was". Funny, turns out he couldn't play to save his life lol

yeah..that trombone player wouldnt happen to be named "mike" right? naw hes not good...and niether are the trombones in our band...the only good people we have in the band are the trumpets, and some of the woodwinds and the percussionists.....why? cuz our band director sucks..hes so lazy...our previous band director had this band in "superior" form....then came our new band director...the only reason he got a superior his first year was becasue he still had a majority of the old band students

Yep, its mike alright. All he ever did was whine about how he wanted to go back cuz he thought we "sucked so much". Well he isn't around anymore and we're better for it. Our director situation is pretty much the opposite of yours. Our first one couldn't get anything done, so we ended up with a bad start. Thank God he left after the 1st year, now hes slowly dragging riverview down lol. Our director now is the one that got us where we are today, and thats cuz she can get things done.

yeah well i dont think you guys "suck" just incase you were wondering.....but yeah..im so glad im graduating....the band will be TERRIBLE next year...i dont think theyll be able to get a superior for a long while.....our senior section was the only section to experience what it was like to get a superior.( our freshman year)...and we were a major contribution to that....now that were gonna be leaving ...i dont wanna think about what the band will be next year

Well thanks, it's kind of hard for me to take those kind of compliments seriously because most of the time I feel that people are just patronizing me and are just saying it. And you think you guys are gonna have it bad? About half our band is graduating this year, and our only feeder school has a band director that drives kids away from band. Theres only gonna be a few incoming freshman.

oh boy....thats no bueno....we have 2 feeder schools...and both of them have a good number of members...but the band directors are terrible...so the incoming freshmen will lack the skill necessary to be in a HS band....its not the numbers...its the skill...and how do you guys have a band program?...our band director told us that if we dropped under 40, we cant have a band program

Hows this for lack of skill, they don't know anything above or below the staff! The only reason our members can play is because we're determined to better ourselves, no matter what it takes. We're still around cuz our director knows the right people to keep us from getting dropped. She knows some of the higher ups and has called in a lot of favors.

Dude, its a MARCHING BAND competition, not a drumline competition. You don't even need a drumline, and I can prove it. Watch our performance from last year, all we had was a guy on a drum set, and that got an EXCELLENT, which is also the same rating you got last year.

i dont get why u mentioned that our band got an excelent...cuz i really dont care, cuz last year, percussion got a superior...so....yeah. and ur right..u dont need a drumline...wesley chapel doesnt have a line either....BUT..theyre small like you guys..and bands like us need a line because thats how its supposed to be. you see, our drumline gets superiors becasue we are dedicated and we work hard, .so since our line got a perfect superior this year, we treat it like if the band got a superior

I don't care what anyone says, I am damn proud of what we have been able to accomplish in the 4 years we have been around. It takes an unbelievable amount of dedication to do what we have done without ever breaking 30 people marching. You can't even begin to understand what we have done unless you have been there to see it happen. It makes me sad that this has to be my last year cuz im a senior, but I am so proud to have seen this happen from the very beginning.

ummmmm....ok? but anyways...yeah...i like ur attitude and that attitude is the same as what the members of our band have. Did you know that we had over 120 members 4 years ago???? then my freshman year we got a new band director and the member count dropped a TON...down to 80....then for my sophmore year...70....junior year....60...and this year, my senior year....54....we were supposed to go back over 100 but strawberry crest sucked up 30 of our incomming freshmen...

Hmmm..Most of our band came from east bay while they still had alot of people, so they were worse off than what your saying. And whats wrong with getting an excellent? We have to work our asses off for that kind of rating and all you other people just piss and moan about it. I mean I would have loved a superior, but an excellent is fine. It's the rating you earned, so live with it

I actually thought steinbrenners show was very good, the only one that baffled me was riverview getting a superior. I honestly thought they should've gotten an excellent. Oh, and wait til i find out the details on what we got tomorrow, then we shall see who sucks on what lol

Say what you will, but our band is amazing when you compare it to other bands of our size, like east bay and plant city. I know we still have a ways to go, but give us a few weeks and we'll sound alot better

whew ok...last comment....when big bands like bloomingdale go up agaisnt small bands like us (plant city) then we dont get intimidated...we get excited to see the amount of people that will be off step and off key and stuff....im on plant city's drumline and i garuntee(think i spelled that wrong) you..we are MUCH better than bloomingdales line. but most people do not know what musicianship is so therefore they focus on the size of the band rather than the skill...and thats sad

Ok, you've obviously never played in a band with only 22 people playing, it is very intimidating to go agaisnt a huge band like bloomingdale. I mean, we point out that stuff too, but unlike others its alot easier for our mistakes to get pointed out due to the lack of people. Oh ya, AND we got the same rating as you yesterday at MPA, an excellent. Smallest band there and we get the same rating as you guys, Alonso, AND others. Not the same size, but just as good.

Hey man i respect your drumline and stuff. but dont go out there and talk a big game against drumlines u dont listen to. I'm sure your line is good and has several player to back it up. We do too. Yes we have a big band, but thats not what makes us good. I do accept that most people credit out playing ability to our size. But actually its harder with a big band because, like u stated before, lots of people are out of step and mess up. p.s. What drum do u play? I'm an snare.

@itscalledfutbol16 That's cool. Well I hate to say it but we weren't great this year because it was a reconstructing year since we lost 4 tenors, 4 snares, 3 cymbals, and 4 basses. We plan on creating harder cadences for next year because the others are becoming outdated. I take it your a senior, I'm a sophmore, and if u ever want to battle I'm down for that, just outta fun though not outta anger.

well our line is gonna be a major fail next year. i along with our other snare will be graduating LOL. we have no juniors on the line haha. we have 3 freshmen, a sohpmore, and a senior on bass, and we have a sophmore on tenors......as you may have noticed, we only had one person in pit. thats because strawberry crest sucked up 95% of our incoming freshmen lol.

so the line will be going through a major reconstruction next year. the drumline has always gotten superiors at fba and other competitions. But i doubt theyll get one next year

I'm sorry about that. We kinda have the opposite problem that there's so many of us that we have 12 kids on pit. and 18 on drumline. This year was supposed to be our iffy year on a superior i guess but we ended up getting one in percussion and overall. but i hope u keep playing snare or drums after high school

@itscalledfutbol16 the marching line is but our school's tech played for the indoor drumline that meets at USF before he switched to infinity indoor, and they're pretty good. They're called Brahma. I think try outs are over now and its kinda hard to make but its the best line nearby i think

dude....plant citys band isnt near ur size..yeah were small (around 70 people) but its not close to the size of ur band so dont compare ur band to us..
