Even back then, the hospital was being majorly phased out. I nearly passed out seeing both Audrey and the actual hospital and realized something had to be up. Both seem to be dusted off only for special occasions and the latest sweeps disaster these days.

I honestly think that soaps were handed a double blow with the writers strike and the recession. Soaps started losing their audience 1st because of the writers strike. When the strike happened people turned soaps off because the integrity of the storylines were lost because of replacement writers that knew nothing about the characters.

Then the recession hit and they had to let go of key actors/writers and cut back budgets...which spelled the beginning of hard times for soaps.

I love when the whole cast gets to gether like this. Doesn't happen often. Seeing Lila again is always a treat. Loved how Edward, that blowhard always cowtowed to Lila. Ahh, love.

How wonderful to have YT & posters like Cate to remember GH the way it was. Unfortunately it seems GH will never recover the way it is now. We have our memories, & no matter what they do with the show now, those memories can't be destroyed.

I used to watch GH during the 90's when I was a little kid because my parents used to watch it.

My all time favorite moment from the show was in 1998 when the original Lucky (JJ) and Elizabeth married each other in that church.

i cant believe this was shown only 5 years ago..makes me sad to see what a great soap gh once was...when will the bigwigs wake up and realize that people want to see the characters they grew up with, and not the people they've brought in to replace them at a fraction of their salaries. I wish they'd bring the old guard back full time..(Laura, Bobbie, Leslie, Lucy, the Q's,etc..not enough room to name them all!) I bet if they brought back the fan favorites full time, people would tune back in.
