  • They are totally approaching this from the wrong angle. They shouldn't pass a law saying WHERE the person can carry.. that's stupid. They should simply amend the states carry law to remove where it says you can't carry a weapon where alcohol is served.

Politicians do this dance to keep themselves and lawyers employed.

Let's not make this situation worse by adding laws.. just remove the idiotic ones.

  • In Texas we have a 51% law. If total sales are 51% or more due to alcohol sales...then no gun. Anything less, you can carry unless a 30.06 sign is posted.

  • Maybe the judge was right: because, somebody done somebody wrong an' we should just give up our gun rights because something bad might happen t'someone, somewhere, . . .

  • Really why do you need to carry a gun in a restaurant!

  • @Mr2505federal because bad people dont care where you or they are.

  • @airplanedreams Yeah and if that guns goes off and hurts someone that house you bought this gun to protect will belong to the person you accidently shot and thats poetic justice!

  • @Mr2505federal well thats why I (like most all CPL holders) dont just go shoot people for fun. I carry to protect myself my family. Make a choice. Ive chosen to never be a victim. Sometimes the police wont be there to save the day. I respect your right to not carry a gun, why is it so hard to respect my right to carry one?

  • @airplanedreams Buddy you live in a dream world and the reason I have an issue with those walking around with a gun is the same issue I have when people tailgate you going 60 mph up a highway , your risking my safety and everyone elses! Thats the part you people don't get, if the gun goes off by accident and I get hurt the first people like you do is try an shed all responsibility. The last thing we need in this world is another killing tool in the hands of a fool!

  • @Mr2505federal I think you need to climb out of the ignorance box. Ive never once in my entire life had, seen, or heard of a gun go off by accident. You have no idea about guns and you are scared of them. You being scared means you want my rights taken away. You know, I wish there was no need for guns too, but there is. Call it a dream world or what you like, but its reality. People are evil.

  • @airplanedreams The only person living in the ignorance box needs to carry a gun everywhere all due to paranoia! Then you try to say that you've never seen a or heard of a gun going off by accident...really well I guess my point been proven! Let me guess you just got your gun a year ago and now your a expert on firearms. Try medication for the paraniod issues and leave your gun at home moron!

  • @Mr2505federal Its funny how certain people concider being prepared "paranoia". Youre entitled to think that. Just like I am entitled to carry. Youll keep on thinking that, and Ill keep carrying. You talk about guns and that they are bad, yet you know nothing of them. You feel threatened and have to resort to name calling. Youre obviously the one with issues my friend, but I thought we (gun owners) were the unstable hot headed ones? Thank you for showing your ignorance yet again.

  • @airplanedreams Being prepared for Dec 2012 when the world suppose to end, is that your big paraniod problem! I also know more about guns than you will ever know and get this dumbass if the other guy has a gun I suspect you'll be dead before you can even get that gun out of your wifes purse...pussy! Like I told you dude change your medication and that paranoid bullshit in your head might go away and allow you to lead a normal life!

  • @airplanedreams Are you entitled to carry in the 2nd Amendment, or are you permitted to carry in your county and state?

  • @Mr2505federal It isn't going to go off "by accident" in its holster. And people aren't going to just whip it out anywhere either. The places with the most fluid gun laws have less crime, and the places with the most strict have more. Gun laws don't stop criminals from getting guns.

  • @Mr2505federal How the heck is that justice? You're acting like having a weapon to try and protect your family is wrong. And you think it's funny that someone could get a hold of it and get hurt and it's a good thing? I'm glad you don't want a CCW. You'd be one of the first crazies to take it to an elementary school.

  • A law that reduces the scope of government restrictions on our freedom can't be "unconstitutional for vagueness." Freedom is inherently vague. It's the government's burden to be specific when RESTRICTING or attempting to narrow the citizens' freedom. The Founders considered our freedoms enumerable.

  • @Elmore3141 .. Hiya Elmore, I don't think I've read a more eloquent statement in quite some time.. Nor could I have put the 'Idea' of 'Freedoms' in such a short paragraph.. Well Said ! ! ! & while I agree with you, I do have a .... Question:

States Rights & the 10th Amend. allow this court to Rule as such doesn't it, no matter what the issue?

As for the term 'Vagueness', maybe in her mind, the definition of the restrictions were too vague?

    Property Owners Rights?

    Devils Advocate..

  • @Wrongway1965 Of course a business owner should be free to exclude any person he wants to, for any reason including that the person carries a gun. And, yes, a state or local government can put reasonable restrictions on the carrying of guns. My point was just that a law that increases citizens' freedom can't be unconstitutional because of vagueness. But if this law REQUIRED businesses to admit persons carrying guns, it certainly was unconstitutional...

  • @Elmore3141 ...because the owner of the property should have the freedom to control his property, such as by restricting admittance. If this new law actually restricted a former freedom or was coercive toward businesses (i.e. their owners), I'd agree that it was bad law, but for reasons other than vagueness.

  • Is un-Constitutional for "vagueness"?!?!? Now someone is just making things up. That woman obviously has no business being outside of a padded room much less being a judge.

  • I'll put my gun down when they pry it from my cold ,dead hand.

  • so this woman will just decide when and where I carry my firearm? don't think so. I always CCW. don't care what the law is. I've never drawn and I hope I don't have to. But...if need be, I will. Guess then, I'll be a felon.

  • I bet that judge has a gun on her.

  • Wow carrying a concealed gun in a bar legally? That makes a fuckload of sense to me. Thank christ there are still decent judges out there willing to protect the people's constitutional rights instead of bowing to government pressure.

  • carry a gun drunk thats so smart.. dumb ass americans

  • @MrBillcale

You can't be drunk and carry a firearm legally.

  • @MrBillcale "It is against the law to be in possession of firearm while engaged in hunting and fishing activities or discharge a firearm while under the influence of alcohol"

  • @Charsept use common sense, what do people do in bars? they get drunk, there are laws against shooting your wife, yet nice respectable americans shoot their wives and children at a rate ten times higher than adults in europe and canada , gee i wonder why? maybe the fact they sell cheap handguns at walmart? in most eurpean nations you can own a pistol for sporting purposes period and you dont carry it with you, people in places like austrai and czech can cary them for security reasons, your mad

  • @MrBillcale 1. not everyone in a bar drinks 2. not everyone that drinks gets drunk 3. if they do they do while carrying they are breaking a law, its not like we are saying its ok to do 4. nice respectable people, regardless of nationality, dont shoot their wives and children, those people are scum. 5. walmart doesnt sell Any handguns 6. handgun crime in UK rose 40% two years after the 1997 gun ban. 7. everyone that carries concealed carries for security reasons. 8. to each their own !

  • @Charsept all i know is i lived in toronto in the late 70s before my family came back to the USA , i was told in 1980 i had citizenship and could go anywhere i wanted in the usa i went to california in 1981 i remember being shocked almost truamatized by the amount of gun fire and blood shed i saw before my very eyes, it got so bad i bought myself a 38 and learned how to use it..but i missed not having to worry about being shot.. the suburbs are different i am solidly upper middle class

  • but i never forgot what i saw i remembered living in a city of 2.5 million and never hearing once gun shot and then moving to the usa and hearing gunfire and seeing dead corpses at me feet as a matter of routine..youll never convince me american gun culture is anything but an adolescent refusal to deal with reality in a mature way, its a bunch of overwieght white men compensating for small penis size thats all,

  • @MrBillcale GTFO of America then.

  • @stopglobalswarming why do you think they sent us here? were here to take over

  • no one i know in cnada ever gets shot i hear stories here every day..and yes i know that is anecdotal

  • are you americans completely insane??!

  • good!

  • We can carry them in Ohio now to. I don't drink but I have been in places that sell

    booze.

  • @DBxSnowman I am asking about the bill that was shot down (no pun intended) is unconstitional. They say for vagueness, because bars, and resturants are pretty self explainitory, but then again people in government need things broken down barney style. I was not asking about the 2nd Amendment.

  • Someone kick that old bitch down the stairs.

  • How the hell is this unconstitutional

  • @devldg26 Have you read the second amendment? The right to keep and bear arms. Emphasis on bear.

  • How do I know? Well, let's see. Perhaps it's because I actually listen to what he SAYS, rather than what the prejudiced, panic inducing, lying republican majority tries to tell me he MEANT. Why is it so hard to remember that Bush had 8 years to destroy this country! How can you possibly condemn Obama for not being able to repair ALL tphe damage in 1 term! It's a miracle that he's been able to fix as mucph as has!

  • @Poppygrande33 obama sucks ass, he is corrupt as fuck. go ahead and think that obama is awesome.

  • @Poppygrande33 ahhh, he's made it far worse than what bush did you idiot, in a quarter of the time. maybe instead of listening to the bullshit he speaks focus on his actions. or lack there of before he was president.

  • @zac030101 What happens when you throw the brakes on a fully loaded freight train? It takes time and distance to counteract that much weight and momentum. Eight years of Republican greed and Bush/Cheney indifference have done almost irreparable damage to our economy and our country. The republican party wants to play the same old game of "Throw the brick, hide the hand", but it's just not funny anymore. There are real lives that hang in the balance, and prejudice just costs too damn much!

  • @Poppygrande33 are you shitten me! repub greed and bush/cheney did the damage to the economy? are you really that stupid. you dont even know what caused all this. or your not honest enough to admit it. let me help you out. fanny mea/freddie mac, ever hear of them. giving out mortgauges to people who couldnt afford them, mandated by who??? the congress. bush tried to regulate them more, you would think the dems would have been all for it. but no! the the housing BUBBLE collapsed. wonder why.

  • @Poppygrande33 then along come your boy and fucks things up even more. hell, even him and biden are out there saying its their economy. $4 trillion in 2 1/2 years and this is what you got? and you people want more of it? you people are dumber than dogshit. 50 years dems ran the country, and you wonder why we are in this posistion. your stupid bullshit socialist policies dont work moron. the govt interferance is the problem. my 10 year old can figure that out, whats that say about you??

  • @zac030101 yeah he did. what was unemployment under bush??? 4.5%. stock market highest in history. not only did bush inherit the dotcom bubble(remember that) but then he had 9/11 to deal with.

  • @zac030101 lets see how running those illegal guns to the mexican druglords works out for him too. how many more americans have to die over that fuck up.

  • @Poppygrande33 really, your so ful of shit its funny. spoken like a typical liberal. whos out there fear mongering? the dems. and what has he fixed? id love to hear it.

  • @Poppygrande33 perhaps all that fixing he's done has been bad for him? maybe that why the people who put him in office, the independents, left him 6 months afterwards. thats why his poll numbers are the lowest of ne president after 3 years. wonder why his poll numbers are down even with democrates? humm. hell some have even called for a challenger. but what get me is, why wont the dems vote for his jobs bill??? they shot it down 96-0 in the senate the first time? just wondering.

  • @zac030101 Well, as is evident by your expert use of profanity and empty rhetoric, there is no reasoning with you. Everything you've used as an argument can be refuted by fact and a quick trip to the library. I won't come down to your level and start cursing and calling you names, but since this devolved into a shouting match, I guess I'll just have to agree to disagree. After all, freedom of speech is what makes it possible for you to freely voice your opinion. That's what makes this America!

  • @Poppygrande33 oh i know, saying you full of shit is sooooo bad. the thing you cant stand is you know im right and you cant disprove anything. plz try.

  • @zac030101 You know the truth, that's why you're so upset and cursing and ranting. You know it was Bush who continued to give the oil companies a huge tax break, even after they made a NET, not gross, but NET profit of 11 billion dollars. That's 11 billion dollars made off of OUR (yours AND mine) blood, sweat and tears. The same tax break republicans fought to keep after Obama took office. Have a good 'un.

  • @Poppygrande33 kinda like obama and general electric? btw whos closing 2 plants in the us to move to china. thats a real good jobs czar he got there. you mean the tax break obama talked about and signed into law? that one? howd that solyndra thing work out too, and the other 5 that failed? hows that fast and furious thing going?? bet it finds its way to obama. i guess its ok people died due to him trying to fuck with the second amendment. stick a fork in him, he's DONE

  • @Poppygrande33 maybe you should throw him a party, hes now collected more debt than all the presidents before him. thats great, run the country into the ground for some stupid socialist ideas that have never worked. this guy is a genius. in fact his "jobs" bill is sooo good the dems shot it down 96-0 the first time and they wont vote on it now. i mean shit! how about more free trade agreements! they are great for sending jobs outside of the us! thats just what we need! moer dem bullshit

  • You should be able to carry any where. But you need to use common sense about it. If your going into a bar and plan to be drinking then No YOU shouldn't be carrying. But if your just going to hang out with friends or you work there, you should have the right to defend your self. Only people that have shown proof that they have been trained more then just the CCW class should be able to carry. Just cause you can buy a gun does not mean you have the mind set to be able to handle that gun.

  • This judge is currently review and investigation by the US Government for abuse of judicial power. She may soon be out of a job. This decision has NOTHING to do with this woman's husband death. Laws are for law-abiding people and those who aren't will still carry in bars, etc,. Give it up.

  • the constitution has no physical limits within the territoty of the usa. carrying is legal anywhere even a bank, nobody has the right to say other wise because of the thing called a constitution.

  • There are stupid laws all over the place. My home state has some off-limits places for carrying that don't make sense. So I carry anyway. I'd rather be arrested than dead because I'm in a "gun-free" (read: target-rich) environment.

  • I dont think a drunk needs a gun but If you dont drink you should be able to carry in a restaurant that serves alcohol.

  • here in Mi. you can carry in a bar if they serve food and they bring in more money for food than booze like most bars that would probably depend on week day or week end,and day or night.the key to remember is cpl,(concealed pistol liscense) . but ZERO tollerance for drinkinking while carrying. blow a .02 while carrying and it is a felony.keep your powder dry and your mind clear.SEMPER FI,Huntsman

  • Im sure you all have heard the Aerosmith song "Janie's Got a Gun". Welcome to the new lyrics version , here's a sample - "If only Nikki was allowed to have a gun her whole world would not have come undone" , "What did the judge do what did she put her through" it's said since she could not have a gun things will never be the same again "Now fight back , fight back for your right yea , yea yea against liberal attacks of your 2nd amendment rights".

  • Alcohol and guns don't mix.

  • How hard did they have to scrape the bottom of the pond to come up with this lame brained judge??

  • Fire her!

  • 2nd Amendment throws libtards off with only a few words and yet those morons are willing to "trust" the Government with a 2,000+ Bill for Health Care.

INSANITY! It is simple, it says right there, I can carry in the 2nd Amendment! What is there to not understand?!!?

  • Obama will probably give this judge a position in his administration.

  • You can count on it!

  • lol. he'll probably make her the next director of homeland security.

  • @USoSilly2Me

That was just ignorant prejudice talking. President Obama DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE OUR GUNS, REGARDLESS OF HOW ANYONE TRIES TO TWIST HIS WORDS/POLICIES.

  • @Poppygrande33 And just how do you know? Are you Obama? Obama is WORSE than Jimmy Carter ever thought about being. The Black Community should be ashamed, to have Obama as the First Black President. Oh No Wait, Bill Clinton was the first Black President, I forgot that for a second.
