  • will the 3g lam powderd steel ship out on you? what i heard the vg10 lam steel shippes out Really easy.

  • GO SWEDEN!!! WOAH!!!

  • I was going to get this knife but its entirely too hard....that edge would chip in a heartbeat. I would much rather it to roll under hard use like knives around 57-59 HRC.

  • Nice review man!

  • Sheath looks shite BUT you can apply the D3t sharpening stone too it and it really works

  • Great vid but i would really like to see is some of fallknivens cowry x damascus

    that would be great !

  • how does 3G compare to the laminate? or S30v mayhaps?

  • @EasternGateGuardian The 3G steel is both a powdered steel and laminated, so it has combined the best steel technologies available today. 3G is possibly the best powdered, laminate steel you can get. In my opinion S30V is the best powdered, non-laminate steel. You won't go wrong with either.

  • @wwwknivestowncom

    ah, very interesting! thank you.

  • good review, I have a fallkniven a1, absolutely fantastic knife.

  • when they say the 3G is "powdered steal", what is that mean? is it only laminated steal can be refered to as "powdered steal"? thanks

  • @bigdogITbiker No. powdered steel has nothing to do with laminated steel. Laminated refers to the combining of two fully formed steels together in one blade. "Powdered Steel" refers to how it is made. It is literally made from powder like a recipe. Individual alloys are combined in the exact proportions wanted that will provide the characteristics of the steel one wants. The powder is mixed together so the alloys are evenly distributed throughout and then subjected to heat & pressure.

  • @h4h4h4 3G is more brittle than the VG10 but has better edge retention. The 3G is also harder to sharpen

  • Hey, I have one F1 VG10, one of the 110 3Gtest knives and one of the 1000 25j knives, and have only one thing to say. ITS THE BEST KNIFE I HAVE EVER USED, and i have used a lot of knives. Great review b.d.w.! and YES buy this knife!

  • great vid.. does the zytel sheath scratch the blade when inserting the knife?

  • not to big, not too small

  • I wanna buy a regular F1z from your website, but I found that the logo of your F1z is in the middle of the blade, but the one shown on Fallkniven's official website it's logo is on the rear area of the blade close to the handle. Which one I can get from your online store?

  • is true that with 3G there are problems for the shapering?

  • @ROMACAPUTMUNDI1927 Problems? No. But due to it being a very hard steel it does take a bit of effort to sharpen, but once it is sharp it will hold that edge for ages.

Fallknivens come with a razor sharp edge anyway so unless your going to baton with it or chop and hack, basicly abuse it, all your going to need to do is strop it now and again on a leather belt with a little polishing compound.

If you do get one get the satin blade and the leather sheath, trust me.

  • 62 HRC!!!! NOT 59!!!!!!! arrrrrgggghhhh!!!

  • I double checked the Fallkniven website. You are right, it is 62 HRC. I stand corrected. Thanks.

  • You won't go wrong with either, but the 3 G is a more advanced, sophisiticated steel.

  • this knife is beautiful

  • Beautiful looking knife, and exceptionally well suited to bushcraft and wilderness survival. Not a chopper, but you can do just about anything else with it.

  • those are very dependable and capable blades . 5*
