@islezeus that's got nothing to do with it... Barbra Streisand has belted her whole life and even now at 69 her voice is still intact, obviously for a 69 year old woman.. she can hit those really high notes. Whitney's problem is one thing: drugs!

@stevesg92 If you listen to Barbra's recent recordings, she cannot hit those notes anymore and her range has become deeper and lower - that is partly due to old age but her I believe it is also due to exerting the voice too much. Even Patti Labelle can't hit those notes she once was able to. I said Whitney's belting was PART of the problem. I was not negating the fact that the drugs did the main damage.

@islezeus When I said "intact" I didn't mean the same as in the 60's or 70's.. of course not... you cannot compare her voice in 1970 ( which in my opinion was its prime) to when she's practically 70! I Believe in Love from the A Star is born is one of the best examples of how Barbra's voice is the greatest... I mean the sheer vibrato in that song is amazing
