this is my first time using cfl, i am having probs with the top of the plant ( 4 white castles in 2 large tubs) getting very wrinkly an strange looking, i am using 8 120 daylite cfl's, on 18 hrs..do i need more lite? starting to worry, plants are around 2 ft tall and very bushy. any ideas?

Hey man I don't think light is the issue in this case,

How big are the pots you are growing in?

Also Make sure the soil PH is around 7

And remember to keep the gap between the lights and the plants

about 20 to 30 cm's. By the way what is the operating temperature try not to

let it get above 27/29 Degrees C...

im getting way better growth ever since i got some proper ventilation.. i have a video which shows the fan/duct i made.. my temps usually stay at 79 to 81 when lights are on.. even if its 80 degrees f outside.. on summer.. good ventilation and compact light. will grow some impressive cfl buds... . i just look at it like. once uve used so many cfls... it gets just as hot in there. u might as well be using MH or HPS.. with out decent vent its easy to make a cfl box hit 88 F and shit.

where did you get that big light at? im looking at buying 1 like that for like 20 bucks should i get it it lets out 4500 lumens 6500k and thinking about getting 3 x 23w day light 2700k

and it emits about 18500 lumens.good final results, i have ordered 2 more of the big lights so i should have a new vid soon.

not bad little grow but u defo need a hps of some sort in there for ur flowering stage, the cfl's are specifically for the veg part as it does all the underground, the cfl gives a brilliant rooting system for a good start to life but u need the red spectrum for flowering if u want decent results, check my grow out i use a 250 watt cfl and a 600 hps

if you want to stay around the 200 watt range, skitch it to a 250hps and double your harvest

Personally i wouldnt use the spot light

as it is the wrong spectrum, just use lots of

CFL's and it will work fine

@sgtdoink when a plant is about 2 moths old or just big enough to take a clone put the clone into flowering staight away and it will reveal the sex of the plant you took it off from . so that way youl know what the main plants or mother plants sex will come to be before u flower it

Very Nice!! However, if i were you, I would put 23 watt 2500k bulbs down by the plant so all the light wouldnt be coming from the top. Try to get as many 23 watt bulbs by the buds as possible. If you can test the positive results by putting a single 23 watt bulb by one side - just a few inches away from the bud site - and see how much more you yield from that bud site that has the bulb near it.
