  • how did your dad injure?

  • This is perfect - how can I get one. We own 2 sebring convertables and I would love one for mine. Getting tired of being in house unless someone comes with me. Any help would be soo appreciated.

  • Like I wrote earlier, dad designed it and had it custom built for his car. The only way to get one for yourself is to design and build it. The motor is out of a 12v winch. Dad's an engineer, and he figured out the gearing and materials needed.

  • ur dad is very smart, be proud of him

  • @xntrik52556 Maybe your dad could start a busines making these. I am sure there are a lot of disablied people that do not have the education or the talent that would be willing to pay for it.

  • @xntrik52556 also what I would suggest to dmh1925 is to look at the portable lift equipment that the company ALCOA in hialeah, FL builds. I worked for them when I was a kid in school and I used designs I saw in their products to build my own lifters for all my boats. you can go hydraulics or electric, either one works on your car since the hydraulic pump is electric in the pumping action.

  • @malanga13 continued: And I also own a Sebring convertible. By removing the backseat you have more than plenty space for the biggest Cadillac wheelchair with all the goodies. The floor offers very strong metal, and I would do 1/2" plates both on the bottom of the floor and the top, placing the lift behind the driver, with the lift pole attached to the floor in that way. I don't think you would need braces, it will be quite rigid.

  • @malanga13 continued:

The car in the video never sagged as the chair moved, noticed?

alright! I just built my own wheelchair electric, check it out at Facebook, my username there is dribanez@nj13.com and look up my pictures, videos and pictures there for the construction.

It has been a hit, last weekend took it to the Air Show in Sonoma Airport in CA and everybody had something to say to me! I felt like a famous

    ok good luck!

  • sweet!!!

  • that fucking sweet design if you bought in form company they be super expensive

  • can your dad share the design plans

  • DId he design the lift himself? I install lifts snd never seen one like this. Looks very nice and smooth working.

  • Yes, my dad designed it himself, specifically for his Chrysler convertible, and had a machine shop build it for him.

  • That so cool :)

  • sooooo cool, dude

    I bet he's a genius
