  • hi im 15 well fit and have been working out for awhile now, but after i do 45 seconds to a minute of wall sits i cringe in pain from my knee caps, idk if thats because my knee caps are too lose(ive been told i need to get physical therapy for them) or is it cuz im doing it wrong?

  • @MrBobertIsBallin that move is known in wushu as the horse stance. Try to not use the wall. and ur knees should be 90 degree(pref ably*fail spelling)ur body shud not go below ur knee level and keep both ur feet pointing straigh. (toes n knees as he said)

  • thanks for the tips. the wall slide for the quads is similar to Kigong training. We do an eight count down and up slowly. Heals one fist width from the wall. Great one on the hamstrings. I like your presentation style.

  • @pr4y3r13 yeah how will you get stronger by lifting the same weight everytime? they are good exercises for stability and fast twitch muscles, but you won't make them any stronger!

  • @graemebdj by building stability and fast twitch muscles you are in fact making your legs stronger, you will be able to do more sets and hold the positions for longer periods of time. it also depends what you're training for, but muscular endurance and muscular strength are important to any physical activity so these workouts are not all bad.........also u really don't need to stretch BEFORE a workout, a functional warmup is more beneficial

  • @graemebdj yea you will you just do reps until it burns every time and you'll get alot stronger there's no real limit it will just take more reps each time

  • ive been working out all summer mon-fri and i rest weekends.....at the end of the week my legs are sore since i do just cardio....last week my right leg was more sore than usual and it goes numb occasionally...is that normal?

  • Really good exercises to train endurance but its not as great to build strength with these kinds of exercises as it is with weighted squats, deadlifts etc. I just wanted to point out that endurance is not the same as strength since there are very many of you who thinks so.

    I really like to do these on my GPP workouts but I never do them when I train for pure strength and explosiveness.

  • @IVSCORES There are 2 ways. The fast and easy way, and the slow and dedicated way. The fast and easy way: The Gym. Do heavy squats, (squats while holding dumbells/barbells). And other stuff at the gym. And the way I do it, the slow and dedicated way. Martial Arts Horse Stance. Send me a message if you want to know how to do the horse stance (THE CORRECT WAY!) Also, swimming. Makes your legs stronger. Running and jogging is good too. And squats and lunges are great.

  • Also, I want to say, thank you again for teaching us how to do these exercises PROPERLY. it seems too often, these videos will teach you an exercise to build a muscle, WITHOUT teaching you exercises to support that muscle, which is dangerous and can lead to serious injury.

  • @AquaDemon666 I was knockin out 35 min horse stance back when I had a good deal of endurance strength in my legs... I think 5 minutes is my max these days without specialized training beforehand!

  • Heck , for the hamstrings why does have to be a ball. seems lkike anything you could put your foot on would work.

  • Well the ball moves, therefore you have to stabalize it. Which gives you a better work out, using a wider range of muscles.

  • dont lift leg weight trust me from experience... my legs are very strong but im shorter on the bad side of this...best thing todo is get ankle weights and go running... it will help endurence and make your theighs extremely strong

  • Running with ankle weights will also lead to knee problems as the additional weight will pull the lower leg away from the knee joint. I would suggest getting a weigthed vest instead or lifting light weights at high reps. I must admit, I played college and some pro football and have lifted weights for years. Never have I heard of anyone shrinking as a result of doing squats.

  • This exercise will help in every sport, improving jumping, running and strength overall. Hope this helps

  • Great techniques if you're in a hotel room etc. It won't do much in comparison with cycling or a leg press, though. Although Nadal constantly does these sorts of exercises.

  • Yes. Really good for kicks. It greatly helped me do my kicks, especially doing the kicks in slow motion, to condition the legs in kicking, doing feints, & gaining leg strength as well.

  • i play badminton and need much stronger quadriceps for jump smashing. These are good leg exercises but they dont offer explosive strength, so im gonna try jumping reps from that squat position...
