I noticed that GTX 570 SLI is best bet to go with because you can get consistent 60+FPS on maxed settings, even when you're in a huge fight filled with lots of particle effects such as smokes, fire, debris, etc. But, it can drop somewhere between 50 and 60 FPS which is still playable in the game. And, it costs like $700 something with two cards. Thus, GTX 570 SLI is recommended to play Battlefield 3 on 1920 x 1080 4X MSAA/X16 AF! Who else wants to spend a $1000 to buy two GTX 580 Video Card?

Damn. Patrick Liu is right... Battlefield 3 does require GTX 580 in 2-Way SLI in order to max up ultra settings (60FPS @ 1920 x 1080 Resolution 16x AF/4X MSAA). It actually shows good performance results at techspotdotcom site. I would totally get two GTX 580 to get best performance on Battlefield 3.

This Laptop gets lots of crap for not being powerful? Rubbish; I played that Beta all week and strangely Caspian Border ran closer to 40fps than Metro; Metro dipped to 25fps; but mostly 30-35fps avg; this is exactly what the PS3-360 are locked at; yet on a DX11 1080p 32"LCD it looks SICK with the tech of a PC. 2x 580s???

Respond to this video... Dual 580s are a JOKE! Unless ULTRA SETTINGS which is disabled on the Beta is THAT much more intense HIGH ( which I doubt ) my g73 handled all high settings from 28-40 FPS Avg 32-25. Now when I dropped to 1600x900 I got 48-57fps; I would VENTURE TO GUESS my system based on these findings that ULTRA will run FINE just NOT at TOP resolutions; I would say 1600x900 ULTRA 25-35fps.. WHICH IS FINE WITH ME! Thats 30% sharper than a 360 with all the tech of a DX11 PC

Battlefield fan @bkohn1 asked him whether a rig matching the Battlefield 3 recommended system requirements would run the game on ultra settings. Matros replied to say that “recommended is usually medium.” So will a top of the range Nvidia GTX580 do the trick? Apparently not. @92Razun do you have a g73? I have g73jh and played Beta on ALL high settings at 1080p and it ran 28-40fps; looked felt GREAT. I played the 64player intense Caspian Border and it ran fantastic on my lil ol laptop. So don't let people tell you this; yes when Ultra is added in retail the Tesselation will tax the GPU; but even in BETA on ALL HIGH; it looks BETTER than any FPS out there today! So a 5870 will run on High I am proof; also check U-tube! I BET if you drop res 5870 can run Ultra!

The only time you use a higher res than 1080/1200 is if you are using a 27''screen or above. Or using Eyefinity (multiple screens)

@ThePSNinja or Battlefield 2. MAG doesnt count. MAg is a small game in disguise. Every "squad" is seperate into different parts of the map and you never see the other squads. It's dumb IMO. BF2 had 64 players but they were ALL in the same map, no limitations..and this was 2005.
