  • Actually, the 4620 used a turbo/intercooled version of the 404...(I'm almost certain)...

  • look at all the rocks i would not pull my jd bwa disk in this field my taylor way wouldnt get hurt it has rock flex

  • They used the same 404 in the 4020, 4320 and 4520. The 43 and 45 were turbocharged. The 4620 and 6030 had a 466 turbo and after-cooled.

  • @MultiBaldEagle The 4620 still had the 404 in it the 6030 had a 531 the same as a 5020.

  • Some guy told me that the 4520 and 4020 had the same block,

    no way Jose,

totally different you can tell by the sound of them that the 45 is bigger,

    pots and more torque,

  • The 4520 does have the same basic engine as the 4020, 6 cylinder 404. It is turbocharged and has different fuel delivery system, more HP.

  • air clearers who caught fire, some tractors got the air cleaner of a 4620, a aftermarket kit from jd.

we've got two of them, one with an original air cleaner, and one with a 4620 air cleaner, both tractor do have a normal air inlet, without the intercooler.

  • hi sagebrushwy i think you are right about 4520 engine problems turbo and injactors mine seems ok so far regards jdcorneall1

  • According to what I remember, the 4520 had problems with the engine so John Deere offered a switchover to the 4620 engine for those who wanted it. Anyone have anything to add to that? Am I right about that?

  • We have a 4520 with a 4620 motor and she runs like a champ even with 8000 hrs.

  • sounding sweet
