I did an Art project on Bacon in college this guy really was a tortured soul. His work was always so dark . the Triptich reminds me of HR Giger then 'Alien' of where i'm sure they both originally got the idea from Bacon.
The 1944 triptych piece by Francis Bacon - 'Three Studies for Figures at the Base of a Crucifixion' the last piece looks similar. Though Giger's was more metal/metallic looking the (mouth) more than face is a striking resemblance.
Excellent post........disturbingly dark yet ultimately facinating, almost apocalyptic. The music only adds to the intensity of the art. Thank you for the posting.
