Aimee the phantom pains will get better with time they will never completely go away but they do get better. Being an amputee is and can be a hard job but I like to look at it in the frame of mind that I was picked for this task not that I was damned with an affliction. Gonna give you a link to a great site for advice and to meet other people in your position. empoweringamputees. org its a great site.
@Hook74 I'm not sure but Phantom Pains are a Neurological thing and is a phenomena that occurs with in the frontal lobe of the brain or something. Practically, another theory states that that particular region is re-configuring itself so that it ejects the memories or w/e of the amputated limb which is the cause of phantom sensations happening.
I gotta see in what comtemporary neuroscientists say about this phenomena.
@Chachaman111 Im speaking from an experience point of view, Ive been an amputee for almost 14 years. It is a mental side effect of being an amputee, so yes it is neurological.
Keep charging it and remember there are a lot of ups and downs but, life tends to normalize after some time goes by. Right now I am at month 2 and was able to get back into surfing...... so dont set limits on yourself or listen to anyone about what you can and cant do.
Hi. I don't know you but I was seriously hurt when I was around your age and can relate to some of what you're going through. I think your story is really interesting, but I'd like to hear more of the backstory. This channel doesn't have any other videos other than the update with your dad, but maybe you could update it with more about what happened to you. You're a pretty girl in an unfortunate situation, and there is a very real possibility that your vlog can become something very big.
AIMEE you are an inspiration!! You have shown so much determination in your quest to overcome your tragedy & YOU should be very "PROUD" of yourself!! I only know of you & your family thru your Uncle Kent, but you my lady have given me SOOOOO much hope -n- inspiration within my own tragedy!! So I would like to "THANK YOU AIMEE" & KNO MY THOUGHTS, PRAYERS & BEST WISHES ARE WITH YOU & YOUR FAMILY. Cynde
It was truly a blessing to have met you just a few weeks before your accident. your strength through all of this is so inspiring Amay! God bless you! Wolfgang and I are praying for your strength and health every day! I cant wait to see you walking at guiding at Tomb again! Stay strong! You are beautiful! <3 much love!
