There is no good substitute for drumsticks but you can try okra.

I've seen my mom use drumsticks before....i know they aren't okra. I have seen them at specialty Indian stores both fresh and frozen.

Yes, the veggies are soft but they still hold shape, not mushy.

sindhi kadhi is made with tomatoes.......surprisingly there wasn't a single tomato in your version.

We used a recipe that was given to us by someone and we followed it exactly. You can surely add tomatoes if you like.

I cannot think of Kadhi without Yogurt in it...Instead of Tamarind how about adding well beaten yogurt?
