@sasquashownz1 it will be on the router itself. but i dont think ds's (except maybe lite) even support WEP key.. thats what i have :(( no pokemon online for me....

for those of you with WPA, you won't be able to connect with your DS unless you get a USB dongle, which they discontinued. You are further screwed if you have a mac, because the dongle isn't compatible with OS X. The only way to connect is to change WPA to WEP, which is a very bad idea considering the security risks.

@roxieman79 Did you go to the home page of your router? ( Enter your router's ip adress as destination into your browser) Didn't you find something like "Security" in a list of items on that homepage?

Well anaways if you did.... you'll see your security (WPA) and pasword, and should normally by clickin on it, be able to change it into WEP. Generate a new password , save your settings and reset the router.

Now change the security settings in your wireless connection menu to WEP + enter new key.

@WilliamG1216 Almost all routers are compatible, it's just that almost every DS game (not the browser and DSi store) DOES not support the (latest, safest and best) WPA wi-fi security, which 90 % use.

So jeah, nintendo screwed us on that one, i changed my protection to WEP, but it kept looping without making any connection so i resetted to WPA..... end of story: still can't play any ds games online. Thank you Nintendo.

please help my router has a red lock and i typed the write wep key then the signal goes up and become green then like 20 seconds it goes down again then it failed and the number that it sayys was 52001

i think that needs ip adree,subnetmask, gateway, and the rest. but when i find it out, only the ip adree and the deafult gaeway cAN I SEE THERES NO GATeway and the rest. after ive seen it ive trie just to put the ip adress and the subnetmask but it's error and i think it also need the gateway

-A modem

Then you're good! But normally you wouldnt have a router and a modem for no reason.

I hate it how you can only have WEP security on the router to allow the DS to connect.

It doesn't let us WPA 2 Personal users to connect to the router. :(

I don't know why Nintendo didn't give the option for WPA. I hope the DSi has the options for WPA.

I'm not quite sure why that happens. Try looking up information on your router to see if that router oonly has one connection availabe. If not then you could go to the nintendo wifi website and type in your error code.
