  • uh yea gervais cant fight for shit lol

  • he gets up so awkwardly lol stoked with White in san jose

  • @Wordlifetn97 as much as i loved have colin white as a devil for all these years, im so glad he is gone he did absolutely nothing the past few seasons since his eye injury. i honestly hope he does well for you guys in san jose bc he was dead weight here

  • Colin fractured the guy's cheek with that punch. Classic.

  • Bruno Gervais isn't a fighter ...

  • HAHAHAHAHA!! Four weeks later and he's still wearing a dorky-ass face cage because of this fight! What a loser!

p.s.: "His name is bruno. so he's expected to be a big bruiser..." What the hell kind of comment is that?

  • @light1up420 Yea or a big fag

  • @light1up420

It's a comment of a wrestling-fan Bruno Sammartino was the best wrestler ever. Of course wrestling is scripted so doesn't really count.

  • rofl gervais got messed up

  • lol bruno gervais sucks balls.

  • That's exactly how our season's gone. At least Hillen and MacDonald are practicing. I still think that we need a legitimate trainer. No other way to explain all these messed up injuries (well, most of them...)

  • Gervais not only got KO'd, I just read he suffered a fractured cheekbone from it. He's practicing, but with a cage mask, and they're yet to decide if he can play on Thursday or not.

  • As an avid Islander fan I need to say that Bruno Ger-Hack Gervais does not belong in the NHL. He has no talent/skills except for being a likeable personality. This is the trouble with the Isles organization ----they never know when to cut bait on bad players. Look at the guys stats ...he has never had a positive season +/-. He has got to be one of the worst defenseman I have ever seen. This guy wouldnt make most "professional teams" AHL team much less play up with the big club. Dump this HACK!!

  • @defunct00 Yeah, not saying he's a good defenseman. He'll probably be gone or in the AHL after this year. Just giving him credit for standing up for his teammate against a bigger and more experienced fighter.

  • damn what a puss

  • So... call that a draw? :)

  • Nice, White with the decision there.

  • Bruno's not a fighter. He did alright. He stood up for his teammate against someone who fights all the time and has 3 inches and 15 pounds on him. Gutsy effort by Bruno. Good for him.

  • @saulpaulus he showed his balls but he isnt gay (: (: (: (:

  • @MrJuha82 Be curious to see if Grapes gives him his props on Coaches Corner tomorrow night.

  • @saulpaulus "someone who fights all the time"???? White never fights

  • @peezy407 Ummm, 74 fights in his career incl juniors vs 5 for Bruno. He has an earned reputation as a fighter and Bruno does not.

  • @saulpaulus Don't know where you're getting your fight statistics but according to Hockeyfights, com, Colin White has only fought 35 times in the NHL (not including pre-season which would up his numbers to a whopping 38). Oh and since nearly losing his eye in '07-08 pre-season, he's fought a total of 1 time. He's far from a fighter.

  • @prorobo 74 times in his career--incl juniors vs 5 times for Bruno incl juniors. And the eye injury is the only reason he hasn't fought more recently. He certainly fights more than the average player and far more often than Bruno.

  • @saulpaulus Once again, don't know where you're getting your "statistics" but you're wrong. 4 fights (including this one) since 2005 is not more than your average player. Bruno got his clock cleaned, simple as that.

  • @prorobo Once again, I am right. 74 fights in his career and the number of fights has only tailed off in recent years because his eye injury made fighting dangerous. The fact is that he has had 74 fights in his career vs Bruno's 5. He is much bigger and much more experienced at fighting and Bruno taking him on after White blindsided Parenteau showed loyalty, character, and guts.

  • @saulpaulus Once again you are wrong. You still haven't backed up your "stats" with any reliable source. White has fought 35 times and has had 4 since 2005. Your blind defense of Gervais is pretty pathetic at this point.

  • @prorobo Actually your denial of reality is what's sad. My source is hockey fights & White has 38 fights in the NHL & 36 fights in junior hockey for a total 74. Even if you only count both players' NHL fights, White has 9x as many. And that total would be more if White hadn't sustained an eye injury & faced the risk of ending his career every time he fought. Bruno dropped gloves with someone much bigger & much more experienced at fighting to defend a teammate & that speaks well of Bruno.

  • @saulpaulus I can no longer waste my time arguing with a blind imbecile like you.

But for the record, from HOCKEYFIGHTSdotCOM, Colin White has fought 35 times in the NHL (regular/post). Fighting in juniors doesn't compare to fighting in the show. He's had 4 fights since 2005 (2 less than Gervais since he joined the league btw) and the simple fact is that Gervais got his clock cleaned on ONE punch from a non-fighter.

Gionta would regularly take on Chara, that didn't make him better than Chara.

  • @prorobo Your personal comment is an example of projection. Look that up.

For the record, you have the record wrong. White has 38 NHL fights. He has 5 post-lockout fights, 2 more than Gervais. Gervais' other fights were in AHL (1) and juniors (2). But juniors fights don't count because they don't throw real punches.

White has nearly 13x as many NHL fights as Gervais & is 3" taller and 15 pounds heavier. Most would say that Gervais showed courage taking on a bigger experienced fighter.

  • @saulpaulus Your inability to READ statistics that are clearly typed out on Hockeyfights is astonishing. I truly feel bad that the Islanders organization has to deal with blind ignoramuses such as yourself. You are directly correlated to their horrendous locale in hockey. But keep thinking to yourself that a player who clearly should be a full-time AHLer showed "courage" by getting one-punched flat on his ass.

I can only hope Tavares jumps ship once his entry-level expires to save himself.

  • @prorobo I can read statistics &, unlike you, I also know how to count. You are an ignorant moron totally lacking in common sense. Anyone with common sense would be able to understand that for a player to take on someone much bigger than he is & with far more experience as a pugilist (fighter) takes courage--regardless of his limitations as a defenseman. But that's too much to expect from a fool like you. I have forgotten more about hockey than you will ever know. Good luck with your ignorance.

  • @saulpaulus Right because Bruno Gervais took all of that into account before dropping the mitts and getting one-punched, right? If you ever played hockey rather than being a blind follower of a once great but now decrepit team (which judging by your age shows you initially followed hockey as a pathetic front-runner), you might understand these things. I guess it's really true that you don't need math to live since you're still breathing yet lack the ability of simple arithmetic.

  • @saulpaulus White has fought maybe 3 times in the last 3 years

  • @NjMurphy245 He has fought 74 times in his career and Bruno has fought 5 times.

  • Comment removed

  • @saulpaulus i dont believe that stat unless your counting the AHL as well .. i cant believe you actually went through and counted up all his fighting majors? lol

  • @NjMurphy245 I counted them to prove a point to all of those who have been saying that he's not a fighter. Bruno is not a fighter. Even if you just count the last few years when White really quit fighting because of his injury, that still is as many as Bruno has had in his whole NHL career and only one less than he has had in his entire career. Even just White's NHL fights are about 7x as many as Bruno's whole career.

  • White can fight if he wants to fight.

    TKO win White or KO

  • @MrJuha82

TKO means the ref(s) save the player, KO means the player goes down and doesn't get up. So KO.

  • @Beaviz81 KO means you are totally out, and cant get up from the ice, you are right yes and i knew that but about 8month ago wasnt sure of it.

TKO means same that you gets dropped to the ice but you arent hurted.

  • @MrJuha82

So a KO means you are hurt, while a TKo that you are just dropped. No sir that's not how I remember boxing.

  • dude dropped faster than my boner watching precious

  • gervais is on queer street

  • "Oh"

  • Did he lose an edge? FUCK NO LOL....HE GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT.

  • @hockeypark fuckin announcer is retarded

  • AHAHA WHITE DID HIS THING AND BOUNCED!! gervais got rocked!

  • Good job Colin White. Even with one good eye got the W!

  • Gervais looks like BoDanglezzz when the grade 1 girls steal his lunch money...lol

  • you got knocked the fuck out!

  • @detriotrdwings he lost an edge you idiot, check the replay.

  • @KrYsTaLiSeD i hope your joking. It was more than obvious he was dropped by a punch

  • @buttkick22 of course i was serious. Look at where the 2nd punch lands, right on the lower part of Gervais' helmet. Even if you did get hit there hard, which Gervais didn't, you wouldn't drop like that.

Maybe if he caught him right on the chin...

    LOOK at the replay.

  • @KrYsTaLiSeD yes white did hit him right at the edge of the helmet but its enough to bring him down which is why the isles have Mr. Gillies, Konopka, and Martin to take care of all the fighting =D

  • @KrYsTaLiSeD ur insane. He got nailed in the right spot and dropped. He couldn't even get up right away. That's why White skated away like he did. He knew he caught the kid. Whene u lose an edge, u don't stay down a few extra seconds to try and get ur wits back. You also don't completely let go of the guy ur fighting in the manner that gervais did. He was seeing stars.
