@BitnikGr Kangaroo w/ a 20mm? Which was pretty common. Look at the HS.30 (20mm AC or a 106mm recoilless rifle, the 106 arguably comparable to the 73mm+AT3 arrangement). I mean, the BMP really stepped up the game, being very well armed and good against tanks (for the time), but its armor is very thin.

Hell, if you wanna say the "first ever IFV", the Mark IX is a good contender.

I think the very first all-side armor covered APC was a M113.

@BitnikGr I'm pretty sure at least some of them were. It wasn't a set design but a field modification, so presumably some were, some weren't.

I'm pretty sure it was the M-75 or the 'roo. But M75 was about as mobile as a three-legged cat with narcolepsy.

@Ulandus Thank you for your good words. Initially NTV channel was a private one, untill it was bought by state controlled corporation "GAZPROM". It still has a form of private peripherial (not main) national TV channel. It is 3rd or 4th after ORT (or 1st channel) and Russia2...

"Voennoe Delo" received award from Commander of RF AF for objectivity and efforts to bring information to Russian and foreing public.

Do you know any documentary which criticise its own country's weapons? :)

"Voennoe delo" might be also trasnlated as "Military Art" or "Military Affair".

Well the English title "Military Case" has two meanings... to me:

-literally a case, like a metal box, of military type, makes me think of a box of ammunition

-and case as in a subject of study or investigation. Like a detective investigating a murder case.

I think your translation is good and I'm glad you told me about the deeper meaning behind "Voennoe Delo" as it seems there is no direct transliteration. Maybe, "Art of War"?

@Treblaine Yes, when I started traslating them I've chosen word "case" as a subject of study.

"Art of War" is totally different in Russian. It would be "Iskusstvo Voyni". Also "Art of War" is very widely known as a great work of Chinese military treatise by Sun Tzu. (btw I beleive that this book is a must for every man. Rules of engagement and other military canons mixed with Chinese wisdom are pretty much applicable in everyday life and can be used as "guidance in life").

@BitnikGr your translation seems to be a direct translation, as you put the subject before the adverb (where it was always -vs- it was always there). Military Case could also be see as a "case" as in medical "case" or medical patient with psychological disorder form the military.

Yes, my translations are sometimes very direct. Cause russian language is more flexible and has not same strict rules of sentence building like in English. However, before posting I read a whole text again and ensure that every sentence has a meaning and isn't just a pile of words, like online translators often produce. :)

VD might be biased in some episodes, but it is sure far away from "VERY biased" and in many episodes about foreing systems and forces it is VERY objective.
