4th Gen Nissan Maxima or I30 bad crank pulley

Hi I am having the same prob from my 1998 Nissan Maxima GXE. i am planning to change it along with belts. I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima FSM guide but I can not find there how to change the crankshaft pulley and its belts. Can anyone tell me where i can find them in that book ???

Anyone know the name of the belt that needs to be replace for this pulley? My pulley is doing the same exact thing. Going with orthodox light weight/underdrive pulley but need belts as well

i had the same prob. paid 250 for it to be replaced

I'm currently battling with a similar/identical sound coming from my CRV motor... I bought and replaced the water pump thinking it may be from there, but no luck. And then I thought maybe it was coming from the valves, but NO! So... Today I came home and started her up and noticed that when the noise started, so did the crank pulley start shaking a little. Thanks for this video... This is why I love You Tube.

Thanks for the video. I heard a similar noise and originally thought it was coming from inside the timing cover. Come to find out it was the crank pulley. It was cracked all around the outer ring. This noise from your pulley is practically identical to the noise I heard. Thanks again
