You missed one aspect of the job-loss inequality: because women have had mainly part-time jobs or "safer" jobs than men they have been consistently paid less than men & earned significantly less - that's why having a partner who earns more is important (survival & offspring). This is also why job-loss stats seem disproportionately higher for men - employers cut the fat where they recoup more overhead cost.

My friend got laid off from where he worked. The government took his license and is going to put him in jail for failure to pay court ordered child support. They took his car so he can not find a job out of our small town. They expect him to look for all jobs in person and no internet. They also expect him to get to court an hour and a half away to defend his failure to pay child support. I am taking him to court and I want to scream his ex has no job and just collects child support from 2 dads
