if it cuts a pineapple 5 times tougher than the flesh on your thumb then what would the knifes weight moving along your thumb d to it it? take all the skin of your thumb to the bone before u try to pull away?
I cannot locate this "famous cooking school" mentioned in this infomercial. This is something I would like clarity on. Was this infomercial REALLY filmed in France at this Culinaire des Arts cooking school as it claims? Are the members of the audience actual chefs from this school? I see that there are rebuttals to some of the comments, so I expect a reply from the infomercial person regarding my inquiry.
@momdelores and @bakingchin The Ecole des Arts Culinaires et de l'Hotellerie, de Lyon for those who don't read French is located in Lyon, France. It is headed by world renowned chef Paul Bocuse and is sometimes referred as the Paul Bocuse Cooking School. You will see his picture, which hangs in the school, during the Open of the show.
@Infomercialman1 It is a spectacular facility, modern and new, but added on to an old French Castle which is treated as a museum and is also seen in the Open of the show. We shot there the second week of June, 2001. All the students shown were attending the school and studying to be chefs. They came from all over the world. The Opening shot of Tony with the Eiffel Tower in the background was obviously shot in Paris.
Hey Infomercialman1, I take back all my negative comments about the MB3. I bought a set and they really are incredibly sharp. I am really happy with them.
I love how those people are purposely trying too hard to cut. Their knives are ok, but YOu can obviously see that woman stab her knife in the tomatoe or Chef tony Pressing on the bread before cutting. I know MIracle Blade is a really high quality, but I just don't like them putting other knives down.
I bought a set in 2004 in one of those "As Seen on TV" stores, and they still work fine to this day. A small spot of rust here and there but that's it. The shears aren't the greatest, but the steak knives get the most use and we love them for cutting pork chops.
Hi, I bought this product a few days ago. It is true that it can cut through most of things. But the charge was more than I expected. The amount that the company charged on my credit card was not the one on the invoice.
I just called the costumer service. The extra amount was the conversion rate from US$ to Can$. The knives really work! It just not as cheap as showed by Chef Tony...
Why do you say this is a RIP OFF? The only product we are reproducing are earlier versions of our own knives that have been sold for nearly 20 years! Every knife manufacturer has their own design and our sell for considerably less than the premium knives the ordinary cook in the kitchen doesn't want or need. MB3 knives last are high quality, durable, and cost effective. What is angering you about a $39 set of knives?
@Borisyoch CORRECTION: He says: "I think it's a success. They feel great. They cut good....I'm gonna give a big thumb up for Miracle Blade Series 3." He admits he doesn't know how to filet a fish - a skill that requires practice - and says: "I can't say this is a fail. I can just say that I have failed." He also mentions in the comments to this video that he "should have used frozen fish. Not so dense." The density of frozen turkey and fish is different so it wasn't a fair comparison.
I KNOW this comment is going to stir up a hornet's nest, but im going to say it anway.
Someone said to me when this advert was made, the sheet rock is actually made of card, and has the sound effects dubbed. This has to be true as when Chef Tony taps it after cutting it, he taps the blade 3 times, but the 'clink' sound is only heard twice (and is out of sync as well)
It's reel sandstone (sedimentary rock is less dense then igneous rock which is formed from cooled magma). The rock is reel. The sounds are reel and in sync...he just taps the stone quickly and the effect is compounded with the fact that it's low-resolution video. I work with the company that makes this product and I've seen the raw video. IT'S ROCK...not PAPER (or SCISSORS)!
The very first time I watched this I wanted a set so badly and I was only 13 years old. I also liked the juicer they offered for awhile until they only started offering it with the ultimate chopper. and Ronco ripped this off so badly, you can easily tell that everyone in the Ronco audience was paid to say what they said.
Yes, you are correct. Ronco IS a RIP-OFF of the Miracle Blade III Knives...as everyone knows that Miracle Blade III Knives debuted the week of 11-9-2001 and Ronco's Six Star Knives debuted a full TWO YEARS LATER during the week of Novemeber 21, 2003. Thank you for pointing this fact out to everyone!
I reckon every time the camera angle changes, Chef Tony starts with a fresh new Miracle Blade to give the impression that the cutting edge is indestructable, i.e he doesn't use the one knife in this demonstration.
You reckon incorrectly, DB2008. The demos are filmed to show the knife being passed from demo to demo without the camera moving. There is no camera trickery! Of course, the entire show was filmed over the course of weeks, so the same knife wasn't used for everything during that period. The demos were usually one takes, and of course, if a knife got dirty, it was cleaned!
You have just said it yourself (quote) "Of course, the entire show was filmed over the course of weeks, so the same knife wasn't used for everything during that period". So what I am saying it is very likely that after Chef Tony attempted to cut the hammer head and the slate sheet, before he started to cut the tomato a new Miracle Blade was used, NOT the one that was used on the hammer head or slate as obviously the teeth on the knife would have been damaged beforehand.
your reply is not what I'm saying. The demos were live, uncut camera moves from hammer to stone to leather, tomato, bread, fish, etc...everything in one take. However, because showing a dirty knife is unappealing (always show your product looking pristine), just like a stunt car in a movie, there was more than one knife used; albeit, in different takes. No camera trickery was used. Believe me or not, that's how good the knives are!
MB3 Knives are not the same. Similar, but different. Our knives were released about 3 years prior to Ronco. Our knives are heavier and have control balls to pinch-grip for accuracy on the Rock-and-Chop & the Chop-and-Scoop. The Ronco people shot their infomercial in the same studio we did and if you look at the sets, I'm sure you'll notice a few similarities. Besides that, there are a few other diffs b/w us and them...
These knives are cheap crap. They might be able to cut stuff, but the quality of the metal and the handles are nothing compared to a professional set of knives. No true chef would EVER be fooled by this junk.
Inexpensive does not mean cheap. They are certainly not crap; however, you are right when you say "No true chef would EVER"...BUY these knives! Miracle Blade is NOT out to FOOL or mislead anyone. The reason to purchase a set of MB3 Knives is not to own professional knives, but to own a set of knives that will cut in every situation. Professional knives have different steel content & qualities than the MB3 set. Anyone earnest in buying a set of professional knives would know this.
Im not being sarcastic but any knife that is serrated will give the impression that it cuts wonderful. I have a set of £5 iKea kitchen knives (which are serrated) and they cut just well as these. A serrated blade will not cut as clean and precise as a plain blade, because it cuts with a 'shredding' action.
Of course the MB3 knives will cut after sawing the hammer head and the slate. I have used my iKea knives on a granite worksaver which is VERY hard on the blades, and they still cut great.
No words can describe the value of these knives. I've collected the miracle blades over the years and i think they are exceptional. For those of you who dont think the knives stack up to its competitors. thats your own opinion, and if your cutco users why are you watching an infomercial for miracle blade?
Yes, they are paid, ...for their experience & the words THEY impart. And yes...actors because usually, they're the people who know how to act on camera. The opinions they impart are their own, & no words they say are taken out of context to differ from what they really feel. They sample a product for a trial period, then are put on camera to find out their thoughts pertaining to that product. Why do you have a beef with this process? And why are you so out to get infomercial people?

@DellDuckfan313 You can do that with a regular knife fresh out of the box.
