What happens is the treasury sends a paper to the fed asking them to print more money, and they do, and then the USA borrows the printed money with interest owing to the fed, and so for every dollar we get, we owe more to the fed...makes sense, No?!?! @ParisLawStudent Well its nothing you should be concerned about unless you work in government although from my understanding the federal reserve is basically a private bank that the US banks with, when it come to the treasury they print money for damaged notes (most of the time) then the news goes around and LOOK they are printed money at a alarming rate, Although they print money when nobody spends because the money isn't circulating, (Somebody like Mr. Scruge) Is withholding money...

What happens is the treasury sends a paper to the fed asking them to print more money, and they do, and then the USA borrows the printed money with interest owing to the fed, and so for every dollar we get, we owe more to the fed...makes sense, No?!?! Well that's how it works, and the only way to pay it back is to give the fed dollars, so we owe more and more on a pyramid scheme. Honestly. Check out my favorites for a good explanation video.
