  • You said you got yours without a single flaw. I guess you were lucky. I got mine with several cosmetic blemishes and it looks like the quality control on the Indonesian factory is almost non-existent or I better say the promise to examine and set-up each guiatr in CA is just that - the promise. Or both?

The neck is great and flawless but the guitar body is blemished and it isn't a second or B-stock but should've been sold like that. The blemishes are 'hidden' and that's very disappointing.

  • Thank you for these videos. Do you still play this guitar much after buying the original Music Man Axis?

  • I was just at a guitar shop and they had a few of these Sterlings and a few of the "real" ones. After playing them both at the store, the Sterling Musicman guitars are pieces of junk compared to the real ones. Yeah, the real ones are more expensive but they are much better. If you are willing to spend $550.00 on a Sterling, do yourself a favor and get an Ibanez or some other comparable guitar and you won't even have to spend $550.00 to get a better guitar than these Sterlings.

    To pitch

  • Did you have any issues with thre whammy ?

I really like music man guitars so i´d like to know if they´re like Ibanez with their horrid whammys

  • I wonder if this guitar has a problem, because the guitar has only the volume control, but the tone???, can i play some jazz songs with this guitar??

  • that guitar sounds amazing dude!

  • i was thinking in this guitar the musicaman sterling jp50 or an standard stratocaster 500$ WHICH I SHOULD BUY

  • i was thinking in this guitar the musicaman sterling jp50 or an standard stratocaster 500$

  • Thanks mate !

    That was great.

  • 6:29, BRINGG ITT ONN HOMEE!

i gotta admit you got a nice guitar there , check out my video rant on how i think they should make Sterling/Ernie Ball Music Man Axis & AX-40's left handed.

  • u hav a nice voice haha

  • yeah i've been looking at guiars for a while and i've decided on this one, getting it 2morrow, everything i hear about it is great and one of my friends has one.

  • Would you say this guitar is good for evh songs?

  • Thanks for the review. How does it play if youre going for more of a cleaner, smoother tone?

  • I love that it stays in tune after you use the whammy bar.

  • I am selling a 2 month used AX40 in mint condition with an upgraded Seymour Duncan in the bridge for $515. Message me if interested.

  • Yes and u also look alot like George Castanza (Jason Alexander) from Seinfeld!! Youre a mix of two film celebs.. now become a rockstar and you should be pretty noticable ;D

  • I am torn between buying one of these or a Mexican Strat.

  • Mexican strats are hit and miss. You can get a good one but you may have to try a few before you find it.

  • Thanks Im gonna check it out

  • @skunizzi Hey thanks a lot. I think these Axis guitars are pretty popular, and since I am in Canada I hope I don't have to wait 2 months til it gets here. Would you suggest the Music Man over the Mexican strat? I mean I want one because it's gorgeous and it seems like an really awesome guitar. I hear you should replace the sustain block though cause it is kind of small. Thank you so much for your reply

  • @diamonddust22 get this

  • @guitarshop40 Thanks a million

  • @diamonddust22 i have 2 of the real music men axis's and i LOVE them. the sterlings are very similar. u will love it

  • @guitarshop40 They are such gorgeous guitars. They make you want to play them when you see them

  • @diamonddust22 i have both , and i barely play the strat ..i love the sterling

  • thanks man for that review .

  • @diamonddust22 which one did you get? i actually got this one and a used mex-strat(its a good one) stays in tune like crazy... i play the axis really with van halen stuff ...and the fender with just about everything else....i play the fender more but i like both

  • @wctennisnyc Well unfortunately they only brought in the really expensive ones and they didn't bring in these ones to the music stores around here.

  • My biggest Question is, Where are these things made? Does anyone know the true answer?

  • These guitars are made in Indonesia

  • Hey, man...wonder how that thing purrs through a tight modern overdrive, something creamy. Anyhoo, I thought it was a very productive short review...I appreciate it.

  • I posted a new video playing this guitar though a Marshall and a 412 cabinet with some overdrive. The sound clip on that video is much better. You will get a better idea of what the guitar actually sounds like though a Marshall stack.

  • and dont forget to play before talk)))

  • Thanks for the review.

  • i absolutly adore this guitar but i play sort of classic metal so the tone doesnt really get me that much

  • is this guitar is made from america? pls help.. tnx

  • I just got the AX40 today.. I have a Frankenstrat that cost me 3K.. and for the cheap price comparison.. this AX40 plays reall well!! -- excellent, I recommend it for sure if your an EVH guitarist!!

  • do you think that this guitar is good for rythm or is more of a lead guitar

  • Andrew Goldman from Nonpoint uses the Music Man Axis(the high end model of this) and he does alot of rhythm playing. I personally think its sound great but go ahead and find one of their live vids and listen for yourself

  • thanks but it was a little too late last week i got a beautiful new vintage white sg

  • I have the older version the Olp MM1 my guitar and your guitar are almost the same I lke yours though because of the quality i got mine for $199 half of yours and im happy hold on to it because these guitars are becoming rare!!! thanks for sharing

  • i didnt quite get it with the bridge is it bad?

  • No the bridge is not bad. Its actually quite good.

  • How do you find the playability of the guitar? Stays in tune? Quality of the metal etc...

  • Thanks for the review! What did you think of the pickups? It is necessary to exchange them?

  • The pickups are not bad. I like the higher gain out put and they can clean up quite a bit if you lower the volume.

  • I don't like the sound of this standard Pups..

I've got a set of bareknuckles on this guitar, and it kicks ass!

  • Hi,

    which bareknuckles did you install

    into the sterling?

  • VHII

The bridge pick up its just killer...you should try it ;)

  • No I haven't played a wolfgang special.

  • Thanks for the demo. Have you ever played a peavey wolfgang special? If you have can you compare this guitar to the peavey? Thanks.

  • Yes it feels comfortable to me.

  • thank you very much, is the neck as comfortable as they say?
