thats because its $120, and the only people who purchase $120 amps are usually beginners, beginners have no sense of tone, and turn the gain to 10 and dont know how to dial in their tone....so when you first hear it, you think...wow this amp has no bite at all......mine sounds amazing....i do have a 6 band eq in front but thats only for that added mid...i give the amp 4/5 stars..worth the money

the peavey rage 258 is not a tube amp, its a transtube so its a transistor acting like a tube, it has some decent tones, especially when you turn it up! its a really powerful amp.

Hi,

I screwed up more things than you think;)

at the beginning,I was maybe too excited by this guitar,

for now:the 'action' is too big,i tried to drop down the strings a little,nevertheless it's too big

-the tune is not what i expected,I'm not a great guitarist with a great hearing,but it appears that some strings aren't in tune(G),and do not stay in tune as long as i expect/want.

so after all:it's a good guitar, but maybe i'm not as good guitarist/musician to tune/prepare it well.

That guitar is sweet considering it Hammetts cheapest model.  I have one. My floyd is perfect. Came from the factory with very low action without buzz(which to me is better, not a flaw on the guitar. I replaced my pickups with some EMG 81's. The stock EMG-ESP pickups are not bad, but 81's rule!!!.

how exactly was your amp set at the moment of recording? did you use the clean channel only with the pedal plugged in or the lead channel (if so, what pre-gain did you use) ? thanks in advance

clean channel on my amp, on zoomG1 i used A0 and the "bridge" pick-up position on the guitar.

hm... it's my first guitar with floyd, so i can't tell you if it is a "real" floyd rose, imho it works fine, tunes very good, and i'm satisfied,

if ur not sure, go to shop and try it, it's the best way,

personally, i recommend this guitar.
