  • Revolution.

  • My son at age 15, standing 6'2 and had failed the 8th grade, has been wrongfully convicted of a capital murder. His well documented history along with substancial evidence, is Bryce's proof that he is NOT GUILTY and NOT CULPABLE for the tragic postion he is in. Prosecutorial Misconduct and more are facts. Yet in 09-2012 my son will trun 18 and be moved into the Notorious Prison Unit, Cell, System. :... ( He's my heart.

  • @cupbreaker2012 we're not a free country

  • The main reason why the police teaches Sunday school classes coach Little League ball teams become Boy Scout leaders. Because children will say anything that goes on in their homes. And a policeman knows how asked questions to get information that the children would not normally give. I do not have anything to hide I don't have small children now but if I had a child they would not be coached or taught by a policeman. Police are armed and retarded and the common enemy of the people.

  • FACT: USA has 5% of world population but 25% of world's incarcerated ppl. Based on the number of citizens waking up behind bars, then USA is by far the LEAST free society on earth.

  • lol, that's a good one. The CEO gets arrested. Lets arrest the whole organization!

  • If you’re interested in the problems with the world like social problems, environment ,education, politics, banking, and government even if you have an ounce of question or doubt on the problems you know that exist in this world please watch Zeitgeist Addendum here on youtube and Zeitgeist Moving Forward which is part two. It answers most of the problems we have today.

  • @Shnimberz hell yeah

  • The mere thought of commercial for-profit run prisons make me freeze.

    .

But how do they make profits, who do they get money from?

It makes no sense, the prison "industry" generates zero profits on its own.

It is simply no free market to run a prison, unless you enslave and coerce the inmates to toil for you, there is no production value in it.

    .

American capitalism, it's just fucked up bullshit.

  • No wonder why Harper is increasing sentences and such aswell in Canada, and I'm almost thinking same thing probably happened. We're following right behind you America.

  • apparently they buy judges as well as politicians

  • Didn't micahel moore cover this already

  • one of the other TYT videos is not available in my country wtf :(

  • Welcome to the Fascist States of Banking Corporations (USA)

  • in a country where voters get outraged over affairs, and politicians doing outrageous things .. wellll they don't get outraged about the kind of system that has always been here, and is now being fortified, and applied to all Americans instead of just the minorities.

  • Now that we have made the human body a commodity again we as a nation have restarted slavery. You should be very proud of yourself America.

  • As we know, there are a lot of parasites and free riders in America compared to the other developed countries. However, America is still the only super power. So I highly respect American tax payers.

  • Someone please explain to me how the private prisons are paid. Is the gov giving them money?

  • The Ceo get's arrested? Fuck that, that's too nice. I say we decimate and execute the top corporate employees and politicians responsible. Kill them motherfuckers...

  • Capitalism: If there is money to be made, it will be made.

  • Btw theonly way you can get a honest politician who will not take money, is by electing an Amish guy..

  • Land of the un-free, and home of the corporate slaves!!

  • @FumingPoliticalPunk Maybe you should take off the foil hat. Corporations aren't gov't creations.

  • @upabittoolate

Word upabittoolate. I'm up a bit too late at the moment, but yes, corporations are government contracts. Without the contracts (or most of them) we'd just have private companies. Not 'corporations'.

  • Oh yeah, this is not only happening in the US, its also happening in Canada, Jamaica, S. Africa and UK and some European countries as well so, don't think your out of the blue just because you don't live in the US.

  • Comment removed

  • Next time the republicans win, unions will become illegal and considered terrorist organisations; anyone in one can be jailed.

  • The largest player in the private prisons scam is Vanguard. The biggest shareholder in Vanguard is Dick Cheney.

    Surprised?

    I'm not.

  • Prisons shouldn't be private. What the fuck. Seriously. WHAT THE FUCK! Do I have to explain why that's fucked up?

  • @Ceenymeeny Do you need to subject us to the"f" word? What does that accomplish?

  • @sthomaslewis What does one accomplish by crying about another's choice of words?

  • fuck the system. fuck usa im movin to canada

  • According to the University of Chicago Crime Lab, "the United States has the highest incarceration rate and the most number of people in prison in the world"

  • It should also be mentioned that good CO's are replaced with workers at just above minimum wage. Another reason that Teapublicans love these, easy money and no union protections.

  • I'm guessing Haliburton has a finger in that prison pie somewhere...

  • @boob72 Cheney probably has his shriveled dong in the prison pie.

  • maybe 16% overall is the actual increase and the 120% increase in private prisons is because the regular prisons are simply full and they gotta put them prisoners somewhere. right right?? im sure thats it. i mean corrupt politics in the usa? come on!

  • - If everybody wrote a simple note, that said "Either do what's right for me & my family instead of the corporate lobbyists or I won't vote for you next time"!.... & either posted it or emailed it to their politician....Then they'd soon shit-their-pants, cos they know that they'll be out of a job once their term is up (unless they change their ways & act in your interests instead of the big corporations)!

  • MODERN DAY SLAVERY!

  • so its illegal to buy a prostitute but its ok to buy a politician?

  • @mrjo0e1 Welcome to America

  • Yeah, this is shocking stuff. Private prisons are unconstitutional! This is what happends when currency is handed over to private banks, justice is handed over to private businesses........and the politicians start wars, and arrest people for money.

  • THIS TYPE OF LOBBYING IS WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!

I'm British & I feel really sorry that you have such an unfair, corporate penal system!.....

I hope you can change this before it gets you or someone you know!

  • this is truly sickening, these prisons are soaking up the unemployed , it is nice to see that the almost mainstream is waking up to the fact that americans are living in a fascist country and the people have no say at all...might be a bit too late but it's time to start a revolution.

  • this isnt new.....

  • Land of the Free?

    BS

  • How the hell does a private prison even come into existance? It's pretty obvious to me it would be all about the profit since it's private... so how do they let this happen? USA, get your shit together. It's never going to change unless the people start rioting for change like in the middle east. You think you're free? Don't make me laugh.

  • RON PAUL has said that if Corporations get money from the government it should be Unlawful for them to Lobby the government.

    Ron Paul for President 2012

  • 1 out of 30 American citizens are part of the penal system. America is not "The Land of the Free." Prove me wrong.

  • @Chaoitcme TRUE! Sadly, NO Corrupt Politicians, Bankers, Wall Street Exects, CEO's in Prison though! (They are all "SAINTS" who Steal Millions from the "Average" Americans)

  • just so corrupt...the politicians should be put in jail

  • Man. I really want to move out of this country.

  • @Halllibut

I hear ya, but where can we go? I was thinking New Zealand...

  • @chronDiggity How about Canada? *lol*

  • @MrsD7777

Nah, too close to this rubbish. I want to move as far away as possible to a civilized land, and new zealand always seemed that way to me hehe

  • @Halllibut I hear ya! The good ole "Rednecks" keep telling me to go back to "Africa", but they Refuse to get me a plane ticket! ROTFL! I'll take 1st class, with the free Entree' & Peanuts & Movies too! :P

I guess those Luxury Cruise Ships they brought the Africans to America on are all Old Rusted now, or i could have rode on one of them! HaaHaa! My Bad for the humor!

  • Big money made putting people in prison!? No, you don't say....

  • Just wait until we make it illegal to be in debt.

  • @HomleandSecurity just wait

  • @HomleandSecurity

It already is. Ever heard of alimony or child support? A guy just set himself on fire outside a courthouse a few weeks ago because he was going to jail for something he couldn't pay.

  • @benhmn He should have thought about that before having kids. And he should have gotten a job.

  • @HomleandSecurity

Very well. Just remember that when they make it illegal to be in debt, and you can't pay it, and they say 'you should have thought about that before you took the loan'.

    Say it with me:

First they came for the fathers...

  • @benhmn I'll never be in debt. You don't get it. I look at a crowd of people, put my arm around my son and tell him, "See all those people not in the luxury boxes, son? They all owe me money."

  • @HomleandSecurity People are being jailed for debt in some states.

  • @HomleandSecurity It's coming, get out of debt now or become a slave in a box later. Remember you may have voted for one of the guy's causing this to happen. Of course I probably did as well. Make this a point of research before you vote again.

  • @HomleandSecurity They would have to lock up the whole country if they did that.

  • @random69ism if it makes me money, fuck yeah. let's do it son.

  • @HomleandSecurity When that happens the number of cops getting shot will go sky high. When the cops come to get you after you just got an eviction notice and your wife just lost her job and you've got $100 left in the bank, yeah it's time to make a stand. I guess that will open the door for companies like Xe aka Blackwater to operate in America for the private prison systems to get these debtors in prison. Time to buy more ammo.

  • wtf. this is ridiculous BUT... I do understand it though. If I was that prison company I'd do the exact same thing. sure its immoral but if the American people didn't want it. it wouldn't happen.

Once again, I don't agree with this at all BUT I see where they are coming from. they are just giving america what the people want. I mean if the american people wanted weed legalized.. it would have been.. right?

  • WOW!...That escape from new york movie is starting to come true!

  • FYI. Private prisons are actually more costly. The opposite of their promised effect.

  • I don't understand why people longer live in the US.

  • @blakkelure, as soon as my wife is done with school we are moving to Canada... but it's tricky, we should be fine on points but we still have to find jobs there first and I heard that in Canada they will always hire Canadians first. I also heard that if your from the U.S. some people will treat you badly. We are going to give it our best shot. We have to get out of the U.S.

  • @AnotherAgnostic I hope it works out for you.. If not, you could try Norway <3;)

  • chris rock.. said.. this long time ago.

  • that's why Arizona is burning to the ground.

  • what happened with "liberty and justice for all" why is it "liberty and justice for the rich"? What happened America?

  • Look at the WWASP prisons.

  • If incarceration is supposed to be a way to repay a debt to society for some wrong doing, then we cannot have private prisons. Period. Because the goal should be to rehabilitate these individuals and make them productive members of this nation as quickly as possible. Prisons trying to make a profit have no incentive to get these individuals out of the system expeditiously and even less incentive to reform them.

  • So how does a private prison profit? Does the government pay them per inmate? That doesn't sound cost effective, especially nowadays.

That said, I consider the prison system part of the law enforcement system and private industry has no business being involved. Remember, private business is not accountable to anyone; this is not what you want law enforcement to become. People have enough complaints about current enforcement, making it private will make it far worse.

  • @dmausf Yes the government pays them by inmate. Same thing with private juvenile detention centers.

  • Lets not forget that they're not just making money off of locking people up. They make a huge amount by putting prisoners to work manufacturing things like paint and munitions, and those who refuse to participate in this slavery are thrown in solitary confinement.

  • Might as well rename your country to United Corporate America.

  • @EternalSkeptic2011 How Dare You Call Us Out For Our Bullshit!

  • @EternalSkeptic2011

Naw, Corporate States of America has more of a ring to it.

  • @EternalSkeptic2011 we'll look in to it.

  • @EternalSkeptic2011 i dont think you can call are country "United" anymore

  • @EternalSkeptic2011

    baahahaha love it :)

  • Time to make some heads roll in Washington: They've been doing this sort of thing for years and years and nobody stands up to them. We need to start putting the Lobbyist in Prison along with their buddies in Congress. Stop the Virus and it's costing this Country a Maximum penalty for being an American. Politicians get your bags packed boys and girls, You're going to PRISON SOON!

  • the 6 people who disagreed are CEOs of private prisons

  • the tv show the wire shows how hopless it is

  • @Chriseycarlyeah324

And the movie "Death Race" shows how expensive will it be to watch prison gladiator match online.

  • this sound dumb but who actually pays the private prisons? or does the goverment do it and still pay less for someone else to do the prisons that run them themselves?

  • this is why libertarianism is fascism

  • ahhahaha Cenk is priceless :D

  • America has a really dangerous fetish for money.

  • @Munnchbunnch not just the states, privert prosons started in the uk,ere we lock up more people than anywhere else in the world.....were not a large country but if we was the size of the U.S we would have to double the amount of jails to fit everyone in......

  • The judicial system in my town was basically privatized and turned over to a company called Wackenhut about 5 years ago. As a result of that disastrous decision by our corrupt politicians, if you so much as get a traffic ticket today and are 1 DAY late on paying it off, they will issue an arrest warrant for you and throw you in jail like a common criminal. In the past, the city would at least work with you to resolve petty issues like traffic tickets. Those days are long gone. Thanks Wackenhut.

  • if i was at the top my priority would be campaign financial reform

  • Thanks to decades of deregulation, outsourcing of Govt services, trillion dollar tax cuts and BLATANT CRONYISM, this is what's left of our "democracy" my friends. Brace yourselves, because it's only going to get worse. Next up is Medicare and Social Security. The Republicans will eventually con their way back into power and privatize those programs for Wall Street. You'll see. Corporations and Wall Street are calling the shots now.

  • @LuvChaos

We were supposed to be a republic to begin with. Once we became a democracy (mob rule) the seeds of the destruction of our freedom were sown.

  • Comment removed

  • America: the land of the free ~ land with the largest prison population

  • Cenk is going to be put in jail for being critical of the system

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 ...Cenk will be put on Watch lists and No Fly Lists for this one...

  • Powerful and continuing nationalism Disdain for human rights. Supremacy of the military. Obsession with national security, crime and punishment. Controlled mass media. Religion and goverment intertwined. Corporate power is protected. Labur power is suppressed. Rampant cronyism and corruption. Disdain for intellectuals and the arts. USA is a fascist state. We need a revolution!
  • I disagree with Cenk. One of his recent stories suggested that tax-cutting politicians would fire police to fund tax cuts for the rich. WIth fewer police, fewer people will get caught and sent to jail.

  • @Jaynonymous1 ...the dark side to that scenario is that the POLICE will be privatized also... think XE (BlackWater)...

  • uumm .... I hate to sound Naiive but the people that were put into prison were probably criminals. The fact that there is so many people in private prisons doesn't affect the amount of people in prison in general. If these people weren't private prison then they would be in other prisons and the overall figure would still be 16%. I agree with what TYT are saying, i'm just pointing out that that fact was incorrect.

  • @MadSkeelz16

Of course, that's the point. How do you think they fill prisons most effectively? By criminalizing more and more stuff so that eventually, you'll be a criminal no matter what you do. They put you in prison for downloading movies, smoking pot in your own house, videotaping a police officer, etc. Do you honestly think people who do these things are criminals on some moral level, did they really harm anyone? They are criminals only because the government criminalized what they do.

  • @MadSkeelz16

This just serves to expose why the government criminalized things like smoking pot. To fill up the prisons.

  • Where did the 5 dislikes come from? Who would dislike this video? A prison warden or something?

  • @TheLogicalTheist ...the Prison Guard Union is Very strong !...

  • Stop selling immate labor to private company

  • That is so so fucked up...

Not only are they making things illegal which shouldn't be and putting people in jail who don't deserve to be, in the end they are also creating more real crime because putting people in jail for petty crimes often turns them into more hardened criminals.

  • well presented and scaring topic. unless people do something about it, it will destroy democracy.

  • Escape from New York/LA

  • plus these prisons teach small criminals how to go big time when there released

  • STOP! Being lazy!, Americans REVOLT agents the corporate paradise and be like Swedish RED-GREN's

  • @TheLightlord GREEN's

  • Many in the US Government would happily enslave millions of the citizens it is supposed to serve to make a tidy profit for faceless corporations and to advance their own careers.

They would happily vote to commit genocide (I don't use that term lightly, firing depleted uranium into villages and that...) in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, while selling weapons to dictatorships who kill millions more.

BUT 9/11 DEFFO CUDNT HAV BEEN A CONSPIRASSY DA GUVMUNT WUD NEVA GO SO FAR LOLOLOL STUPID

  • John Kasich want all prison privatized as well. Political revolution will not come with out bloodshed,Cenk. I'm ready for what ever though.

  • Sometimes prisons are built with expectation of running the "business" and then there is no one getting put in them so it goes vacant. Quite surprising really since we imprison everyone

  • government needs to build and own the prisons.

  • The 5 people who dis-liked this video have a mental illness.

  • One must admire the rent seeking society.

  • Wow, american news that actually tell you true news!!!!! Continue like that!!!

  • we need to set up a benevolent dictatorship as in Ancient Greece when Solon got everything sorted over 10 years, but had to leave at the end for 10 years so he could not profit from any changes. They also elected straight from the voting public. Clever them greeks.

    Cenk for President.

  • @baalisgod666 Solon was an expression of the will of the people.. in a sense a first moment of the democracy that followed.. it was enabling the infrastructure for what people had begun to demand.

In Greece before, every piece of land had a sign post with a list of names... of who owed whom.. a kind of property insanity.

Solon collectivised it all, no Greek could be a slave.

In a sense that is like socialism, except its' making machines all our slaves, as humanity becomes inclusive & democratic.

  • we need to set up a benevolent dictatorship as in Ancient Greece when Solon got everything sorted over 10 years, but had to leave at the end for 10 years so he could not profit from any changes. They also elected straight from the voting public. Clever them greeks.

  • Welp only one solution time to jump ship. I am thinking norway will take me maybe the swiss.

  • Are they the same people who finance the next hiphop LP

  • LOL

this story is not funny at all.

  • We need to MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO LOBBY CONGRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

That way we can that out all the corporate lobbyists out of Washington and prevent shit like this!

  • @Daisy4Loka Your lack of eloquence is somewhat endearing.

  • @Daisy4Loka It would help, if you would stop calling it lobbying and start calling it what it really is, BRIBERY!!!

  • @Daisy4Loka Also we need to shorten election campaigns. Campaigning became a business and you need billions to win now on the state and federal level. In Europe and Canada, elections last a couple months at max. In America it is almost a year and a half of bullshit that the media, corporations, and politicians exploit as some sort of never ending reality TV show.

  • @Daisy4Loka but then your tax dollars would have to be used to fund campaigns....then the question comes how much should each get?.......it would be a nightmare

  • @Daisy4Loka THANK YOU!!!!! Someone finally gets it!!!!!

  • Robocop and Total Recall is all I have to say....

  • Unanswered question. Which is most cost effective? Private prisons don't put people in jail. BUT.. if someone is sentenced, it is to the benefit of the state to do it as cheaply as possible. Here in California, one of the biggest lobbying groups is the prison guard unions in public prisons. Small rural towns beg to get a prison built. Why? Because the guards are recruited locally, you don't need college diplomas... and they bring in huge amounts of money.

  • @goodtimebob I think the argument was exactly that private prisons DO put people in jail (by bribing politicians/judges). Now if the same happens on a state level, that's even more wrong

  • @CardPlay3r Judges don't decide the jail. Just the sentence. Government is so efficient that a private company can probably incarcerate an inmate under the same or better conditions than a government jail and still make a profit. Its costs more to put someone in a federal prison than a university. They spend more supporting inmates than soldiers. IF we can't ship the criminal wetbacks home, lets at least give them a jail comparable to what they would get at home.

  • @goodtimebob The point was not which type of jail costs the state less per inmate, but that people are thrown in jail for minor offenses so these companies could make a profit. If you agree with that well...good for you I guess If you don't think that's the case, you have to wonder though, why does America have so many people in prison compared to other countries? It's actually the highest rate of incarceration in the world, 743 / 100,000 people

  • turn Florida into a private prison... system.

  • Land of the free bitches.

  • Who owns this country? Corporations. Who is their police? The Government.

  • Dear White People, We have tried to tell you for years that your government is corrupt and is designed to keep people oppressed, communtiies destroyed & to violate the precious rights you people believe you're blessed with.

Ah well, Maybe you all will listen in the next life.

    Signed Black People:)

  • @pookiebear97 Jigaboo.

  • @guitargod909, You have poor reading comprehension skills:(

  • @pookiebear97 I clearly do not.

  • The concept of "private" prisons seems wrong because it is wrong. There is nothing good about it.

  • yeah remove the political part from your sentence cenk. how many strories do you need to hear? how many one choice elections do you need? or hell, how many flat out rigged elections are you gonna need to finally say its all broke and let hell loose.

but youre getting there baby steps, i know

  • you are missing the most important point...these companies are mostly building and rebuilding immigrant detention centers.
