Gobbi immortale!!!

  • Portentoso !!!

  • @DoryViolet TADDEI è IL FALSTAFF DELLA STORIA .... saluti

  • The greatest exponent of the title role in the greatest opera written since Mozart. Incredible!

  • Grandissimo Fastalf, Grandissimo attore, insuperabile voce. Verdi può essere fiero di te. Grazie

  • What a talented singer (being excellent baritone he could have competed many tenors in tenor aria performance) and what an outstanding actor! Thank you for this video!

  • P O R T E N T O S O !

  • Grandissimo Falstaff!

  • No one in todays opera can compare with the singing/acting/and facial expressions of the memorable Tito Gobbi...He was truly a Gift from God for us to see and hear his magnificent voice and for those of us who were priviledged to see him in any of his performances I am truly grateful, that I was one of the many....

  • Grande cantante e grande attore

  • el que sabe...sabe.

  • Truly an amazing singer - but what truly amazes me is his acting talent. Listening to his albums, you can HEAR the emotion (especially in Rigoletto). I have not yet heard this opera, as I'm a little afraid of him in a comedy (I love him in dramatic roles). But I think, after this video, I may give it a try.

  • His recording of "Falstaff" with Karajan is considered definitive, with good reason.

  • Absolutely superb!!! No one can touch him today. Neither the singing nor the characterization. Exciting still!

  • Truly the greatest Falstaff I ever saw or heard. Not the prettiest voice, but one of the most expressive and enjoyable to listen to. You have to admire the man in that role. I lost 8 to 9 pounds in the fat suit every time I did it. Fantastic how he moves and expresses himself, unlike many singers of today. It's all about the sound now.

  • SPLENDIDO!!!!

  • Not only Great singer, but great actor as well.

  • What a wealth of detail! I love the facial expression on 'l'occhio torto da gattopardo', and then how he raises his eyebrow!

  • dove sono finiti cantanti cosi?

  • ravishing and breathtaking! great tito gobbi!

  • great

  • This is wonderful - and takes me back half a lifetime when I saw Gobbi's 'Falstaff' in London. How did you come by this? Let's have any more treasures like this.

  • One of the greatest singers of all time-Many thanks fro posting this

  • Please oh please somone, release this and other Gobbi color film material on DVD. Astounding performance!

  • Magnifico!!! Un monumento, un maestro per tutti!
