  • I'm a stutter myself, and people at work (restaurant) make fun of me. It sucks, and as a waiter I think I can control it a little bit. but it is a tough thing to deal with. it sucks, but this is who I am

  • @nathstar69 I think that you're really brave for going through with the documentary! You really inspire me to not let my stuttering get in the way of my dreams of going into Business. And you are sooooo cute, I would definitely hit that ;)

  • Im 27 and stutter, i think it gets worse sometimes, dont think I can give public speeches and so on, I feel like half of a human, its affecting my selfconfident. The thing is I think you have to remind yourself that you are not alone, there are a lot of people out there that are in the same situation. The thng is what I really dislike is when people will laugh at you because of the way you speak or fills in word when you speak, it makes you so frustated you just want to scream at them.

  • so fuck he stutters.. whats the biggie?? he's got a brain, hes not an idiot, he can read write and probs do exactly everyone else can do.. just needs a bit confidence, fuck the daft pricks that take the piss hope they get run ova

  • @bigboyshit1 Rude.. If you had it like I do you would understand

  • @bigboyshit1 I think lots of people are misinterpreting your comment. SO BOYS AND GIRLS- He's talking about how stuttering should affect how people see him. His is just as able otherwise.

  • Comment removed

  • watching this video is no wonder that thousands of stutterers have committed suicide. Society in general sees stuttering as lepers, no one wants them anywhere. It is a great misfortune.

  • Thank you Biochips for sharing these videos.

  • Nathan looks like that guy that was in that film Trainspotting. The main character, forgot what his name was.

  • @dirtynuke Mark Renton aka Rentboy. Lmao. Fukin class film.

  • I'm 16 and for years i've tried to hide my stammer, not talking unless i absolutely had to, or just saying words, in my head, i knew i would be able to say without stammering... I'd sometimes start a sentence and have to stop half way in and just tell the person there was no point in me going on because i wouldn't be able to say the rest :/

This documentary made me cry vigorously, but it has been very helpful so far and the boy who is doing the actors course, i now think is a HERO!!! :)

  • im crying now =(( poor poor souls :<

  • Nathan i totaly know how you feel. I wanted to go into the drama class at my school but the teacher is really mean one time i saw him laughing at me. so i decides to join choir. i have been doing choir for 8 years and it has really helped me alot with my stutter. :)

  • That Nathan guy is so cute and handsome. I'd totally go out with him, who cares if someone stutters if they're good people? You just gotta be patient.

  • i just wanna say to all stammerers.......pls don't feel this is the end of the world for u. there is one exercise of VISUALIZATION.....wherein u have to imagine urself delivering a fluent speech infront of a huge crowd......this helps immensely !! pls do try it !! for any help .....pls feel free to msg me !!

  • I sometimes repeat the same word in a sentence.

  • lmfao that niqquah nathan was the funniest . niqquah sound like he barkinq when he stutter lmfaooo

  • @sxylx3 Lol who are you behind a monitor? Some puny little rat who would probably get their face smashed in if they said this to a stammerer in real life. Grow up, child. :]

  • @sxylx3 Lol who are you behind a monitor? Some puny little rat who would probably get their fce smashed in if they said this to a stammerer in rl life. Grow up, child. :]

  • I had a very mild stutter, i am now 16 & i had it when i was 14.

It was only weak stutter though, im lucky i got better.

And i feel very very sorry for all these kids, & i wish them all the best.

  • @KarateKidYeah Im 14 and i just got an stutter in august 2010. It is weak and i dont stutter when iam not nervous about stuttering. iam trying to calm down and dont think about stuttering but its really hard not to think about it.I think its going to get better by the time i grow up. But i feel angry when my teachers know that i stutter, but they keep making me do presentations. i know its their job, but iam stressed until the day i have to present. i hope mine goes away as yours :)

  • Lord, please help me to speak. *Like this if you pray you could be free from the slavery of your speech impediment*

  • @GeekingForJesus everynight

  • @Kirohikaru best words

  • I think that Nathan is MUCH funnier than Jim Carrey.

  • future suicide

  • A stammer is no joke,it has a great impact on lives if they dont handle it well, its a daily struggle week in week out, i have a stammer and i get very low sometimes, all i think is , ,i wish i can talk, but a stammer is apart of us, theres no cure for it but it can be help with therpy, the worse thing you can do is let it control your life, dont let it, thats what im trying to get in my head...

  • he stuttering cuz of the dramatic event in his life.

  • i wish i could hang out with this guy. he's probably one of the best people you'll ever meet.

  • This Isnt funny i studder not as bad as this though but baseball takes everything off my mind

  • This isnt funnI stutter tooo not bad as this though man It sucks Im overcommign fast though

  • I love how determined Nathan is. I think that fear just might be at the base of this disorder.

  • @AutisticWhoLives4God Thanks, i am very determined. But i have now learnt not to fear my stutter or situations in that my stutter might prove to be difficult.

  • @NathStar69 Hey, Nathan! I can barely believe it's really you! You are so brave for participating in this documentary, and I want to thank you for that. I watched all the parts of this film. You did so great in your play. You're cool.

  • @AutisticWhoLives4God Thank you, i'm glad you like the documentary.

  • @NathStar69 Yeah, I love seeing success stories. I also hope to be a speech-language pathologist one day.

  • @NathStar69 Nathan do you still stutter?

  • I have block stammering .. and most get stuck on the phone . Never done anything about this .. Ca , P and somtimes A and the words i get stuck .. i really wanna settle in canada in the future .. but feel afraid to say it .

  • @husainml We have great speech therapists in Canada. If you come to Canada, look up one named Kara Beck!

  • da da da da di di di di di di di disss wa wa wa wa was s s s s so f f f f f f funny!

  • @dtp20044 i seriously hope your mom, and daddy rot in hell, piece of 5 year old SHIThead

  • @dtp20044 oh yeah?you think thats funny?how about i shoot your fuckin head off?that would be a great deal of fun!

  • @dtp20044 would you like to suck your mama pussy... shut the fuck up bitch

  • i studder and when i start to talk i like to try to get out all my breath and then talk when i take a deep breath i stutter. its weird.

  • the worst part is when ur own parents scold you for not talking properly...

  • they're both beautiful!

  • I have asked God to forgive who makes fun of people who look like this and may he heal you when he was on earth no one believe but few that he was the son of God but now that he's gone most of us believe in him i will just encourage you to have faith in the lord Jesus Christ and you will be heal in his name

  • i stutter, but thankfully not as bad as the people in the video. however, people do take the micky out of me by imatateing me after i have stammered over a word and it is so annoying and hurtful because i try hard not to stammer then when it slips someone picks up on it and takes the mick!

  • I don't know about other ppl who stutter, but when i stutter like that it is so draining!! i get really tired and dizzy, and the overall experience of stuttering is physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. On top of being really embarrassing...I do'nt do it as bad as these individuals but I know how it feels to go through moments like that and it is not fun.

Its so brave of him to say fuck u guys im doin the class any way!! lol good for him!!

  • what i have found out a bit is ..(cause i also stutter a bit.. but not as bad... i hope these great people should overcome it all)..that stuttering is caused by the way we breathe.what i try is to say music note.. like aaaaaaaaaa for a long time and then try to place words ON that note slowly.. and to long breathe continuously and not to stop breathin if i stuck up on a word or sentence.. this has helped me greatly and i have improved a LOT

  • i have a stutter to and its as annoying as fuck. im the only one in my school that has a stuttering problem. it makes me feel alone that ive never laid eyes on anyone that has stuttered thats not in my family.

im not trying to be a spammer, but if you any kind of speech problem, lisp, stutter, clutter, dysprosody, anything, then subscribe to the channel. im not trying to get subscribers, i just want to bring us all together, and make us not feel so alone. :)

  • Did the dad have a Mullet? :/

  • It's easy for people to not have patience for stutterers or even sit there and laugh at them because it looks like they're having some sort of episode, but its very important to help stutterers along when they're having trouble. I'm a stutterer and I always find that my stutter gets better when people show ACTIVE LISTENING. I hate it when people dont listen, but instead just look at you and watch you speak. That's not listening. No wonder stutterers have problems when people don't listen

  • man this sucks so bad =( 5*

  • parents have to stop thinking their kids need help if they have a stutter it will only make it worse, they have to accept it......the only way is to speak like a robot high on dope, but then you sound even more retarded

  • Getting help/therapy increases the chance to accept the stutter multiple times! I'm at therapy now, and after only 5 person to person meetings I'm way more comfortable to speak and it's alot easier to speak fluintly.

  • I stammer to,its horrible, the worst is peoples reactions and what they think decides if Im going to say something or not.

  • (i swear this is true) the people from the bbc who were making this progam and i had a interview for to be in this proggame

  • and then.... What happened?

  • @kentishkickboxer this is channel 4, not bbc

  • I had a classmate in high school who stuttered like the guy in this video, the muscle spasms.. I felt really bad for him because everyone made fun of him and talked shit about him. I befriended him and he turned out to be a great guy. Oh and FYI dont finish a stutterers sentances...they hate that shit, I stuttered for years and i grew out of it thankfully. It was a daily struggle to say one fuckin word...

  • @ArnieGrape21 lol, if they finish your words, and it is the right word, i don't mind, cause it helps me, i hate it if they say the wrong word lol. all you can do is shake your head and carry on trying to say what you want

  • @ArnieGrape21 i stutter and i think it's sometimes easier if someone else just finishes the sentence for me-at least it means i don't have to keep on stuggling with the word

  • I am a stutterer and I feel for each one of them. My dream too is to be a film actor and I also want to be a motivational speaker for people who stutter. May God bless you all and Jesus loves you just the way you are.

  • @stutteractor i think it's really important for people who have suffered with a stutter all their lives to be motivational speakers for younger people..i'm 28 and have stuttered all my life and it would have really helped me to have someone to talk to, someone who knew the challenges that stutterers face daily..I would love to help people of any age with this..it would give me such a feeling of self worth..just helping people by talking

  • Bless all of you guys and i wish the best of luck on improving your stammering.

  • Some singers are stutters and singing is a kind of therapy. Thanks of singing , they have improved their "stutter".

  • I'm a person who stutters. I've been stuttering since I was 6 years old. Over the years it's been really hard for me to speak. But I believe I have improved alot in my stuttering. I advertise to people that i stutter and try to use the speech techniques, so I can feel more in control of my stuttering. I'm glad I have friends who stutter, so it's like a support group. I'm so happy this film was made. I wish I could go to the UK to talk to the people there who stammer.

  • thats what your mom told you to do asshole

  • how u control it most of time .......plz give me some keys to reduce that error

  • brother i have also that problem but is less than urs i have speech therapict problem and i didnot know how to get rid of that .....i also feels very shyness in talking to others can someone help me ..........plzlz

  • look up the Speech Easy device on the internet.... it has helped many stutterers... it could probably help you too.

  • Have you ever received speech therapy? I have a simlar problem but I can controll it for the most part but it does take work and at times there is nothing I can do about it and I just stutter. Dont ever worry about what people think of you. Doesnt it make you a better person because you have something to overcome?

  • bless em all, that nathan is a cutie though!! good luck to them all!!!

  • haha thanks :)

  • np :)

  • Are you the Nathan in the video? If so, you are awesome! Don't give up on your dreams and don't listen to pessimistic people ... and yes, you are very cute!

  • haha yeah i am the Nathan! thank you very much :)

  • Nathan - Just wondering if you've heard of the speech easy device - It's an amazing "cure" for stuttering! It's a device you wear in your ear which repeats what you're saying to yourself milliseconds after you say... the thing is it tricks you brain into thinking you're speaking in unison - which helps stutterers as you know of course, such as when you are singing in the musical. I'm sure you knew all this already.. but just making sure you know about it!

  • actually i havent heard of that if im honest, ill have to do a bit of research about that.

  • Look up Speech Easy on youtube - there is a video about it on Good Morning America. It INSTANTLY "cures" this guy's stuttering! 85% of people who use it have had it improve their stutter by 50% or even 100% It's definitely worth checking out... I've heard they cost somewhere between $4,000 & $5000 - expensive, but worth it! You can try it out first to see if it helps before you buy... from what I've gathered... - Nicole :-)

  • P.S. Let me know how the research goes! I'll check back ... Good luck sweetie :-)

  • blimey you lot are so pessimistic! its only a stutter

  • nowhere in my studies have I ever read they people who stutter are sucidal! I have a B.S. in Communicative Disorders frm in the U.S. working on Master's...

  • Maybe not you,but there's been stories that people commit suicide from have a stutter.

Stuttering makes your life very limited, and some people just can't take it,so they take their own lives.

You'd be surprised of how often it happens.

  • I hope I don't become a victim.

  • I stutter bad, and i often feel suicidal about it, i feel theres no hope.

  • metal head...iam also a stammerer...i have done a course in india whcih it think is the only only course which cures stammering....u need to give importance to only cure your stammering..n you will...if u want...i can help you...u just need a mic and a cam....and a yahoo id...i can help you for freee...

  • Something I don't get.

Why do people say "bless him" to someone with a nasty condition like stuttering or anything.

Isn't "bless him" something that we say at church....

How do we know these gents in the video go to church for us to bless them!

    I mean that seriously.

I think "wish him well" sounds better, but that's just my opinion....

"Bless him" is never said on youtube videos with people doing well....

    Anyone want to clarify....

  • And people saying "poor guy" to Mudiaga or Nate. That's very nice to say but it might make them feel worse because it let's them know you are better then them.

  • How do you do it Nate!! Your chizzeled, you got big guns, but you stutter and get mad chicks!!

    Seriously I envy you!!

I stutter like hell and hate it, and don't get chicks...

What's the power of your allurement!!! (say what!)

  • Love the dads mullet LOL

  • Aweeee Nathannnnn.

    hes such a cutieeee :]

hang in there buddy, youll make it through :]

  • thanks :)

  • Nathan you're gorgeous, and you're eyes are amazing ! :D

I have a stutter too, I've had one ever since I can remember. Don't let anything get in the way of your dreams(:

  • haha i got amazing eyes? oh blimey cheers :).

  • Sorry to say but very bad stuttering will get in the way of ones dreams.

If one can still verbalize thoughts with some stutterings here and there--dreams will not be impossible to reach.

  • jesus nathans stammer is really bad bless him

  • its got better though :)

  • Nathan is hot!he should definitely become a model. He also looks like a young version of John Frusciante.

  • whos john frusciante? i hope thats a complement! but thanks, you lot are gonna give me a big head :)

  • I stammer everytime. When I pick up the phone i can even say hello. I am really worried about going to secondary in Sep because teachers ask You to read out loud and there are probably some stuck up peole there who fucking laugh at you. I will go fucking ballistick.

  • He may have a stuttering problem but he is drop dead gorgeous. Its awesome that he's very determined to follow his dream.

  • haha am i really drop dead gorgeous? oh blimey thank you :)

  • OH, wow is this really you?! I feel like I'm talking to a celebrity :D

and yeah thats what I think and your welcome.

  • haha well wouldnt go as far as celebrity! yeah this is really me! bloody knackered but its me :)

  • That's cool, Hope all is going well with you dude =D

  • i think ur flipping amazing to go on stage like that...im currently in a play acting as a boy called marc hu also has a stammer..he was put into an institution because of narrow minded people, i just wanted to say that i kind of know what u were your going through (although not to the full extent of a life time) and btw...agreed...ur gorgous!

  • wow. Goodlooking and smart.

At first when I was surfing through youtube, I thought you were a famous Model, when I clicked the link I was even happier to see a nice young guy with a great heart, and such courage and determination. If you keep determined and focused you can achieve anything in life. Anything!!!!! (and oh man you are so goodlooking)

  • nathan, you are fit ;) hehe

    sexy much :P

i dnt stutter when i sing XD

  • haha thank you :)

wish more people would think im fit!

  • neither do i. its such a strange situation. maybe i'll just sing the rest of my life...

  • me too.. and when i am angry, i dont stutter lol

  • really? i think it gets worse for me when i get pissed off. for me its hardest when i try to tell a joke, i just cant get the f-ing punchline out!! takes all the humour out of it.

  • hahah it's also hard for me to tell a joke, in the end they all will be like "wtf are you talking about?" and then they'll fake the laugh.

  • yeah lol, but you get used to it i guess. im glad im not the only one!

  • stuttering isnt actually bad usually people dont notice it when you speak. Or they just wouldnt care, even if you dont stutter like that. We all do it at some points.

  • i think you are right..everybody stutters..might not be much..but...just sometimes....i stutter..and..really sufefr from stuttering..i'm a miserable failure...and i stutter worst than that girl..or woman, or worst than the man...i suck

  • I used to stutter too, my problem was my negative home environment. I moved to a different country, learned the language and my stuttering is gone for 6 years now!!! But sometimes when I do speak with my parens on the phone and they make me feel miserable, I stutter a little.

  • stuttering is hard. you can't even go up a girl that you like

  • yeah..that's true..

but I'm glad my stutter wasn't too bad & my girlfriend very understanding me..

  • tell me about it.....it is hard as hell!!!...when i was a kid i stuttered but not that that bad..i just repeated a word or a letter or something..but now i'm 14 and it got much worse!! it sucks i know!!

  • That's not true, i am a 20 years old have an extra amazing life on all levels mainly emotional especially that i've always had a GF and i am not that good looking guy.

I just think that stopping stuttering would improve my life way more and my next goal is stopping stuttering which i tried to ignore and run away of for so long. it's time to face it and remove it :)

  • yup, i still got my stutter. and i am gay to, but i never can talk to anyone i like :/

  • stammerers increase the pressure on the tongue when trying to say it so we have to "soften" it and let air flow through you mouth smoothly. Another thing that should help is often pausing like you would pause after a comma, that has proved really useful to me and should to other stammerers. Sorry if i wrote too much but its better said in words than comments lol good luck to everyone in this documentary and to the rest of the stammering community with their speech.

  • i'm sure anyone who has got speech therpay knows about articulation and what letters of the alphabet produce what type of sound. try and use that with the way you use your alphabet when speaking. eg. when you say the letter "n" the sound is produced through the nose and stammerers can prolong the word to "nnnnnn" when there tryn' to say a word which begins with that letter. when we say the letter "n" , you also touch the tongue on your hard palate when you produce that sound but often...

  • man i have stammering too and i also stay in the uk. my stammering was from mild to moderate and at times severe. that made me wanna get speech therapy and i have to say that it really has helped in my first 5 weeks of therapy and its just getting started !!! my main problem was speaking pretty fast and once i slowed it down, my speech became better so u stammerers can try that. also if theres letters and words u often get stuck at, try and soften the words and dont force them out...

  • Nathan, you are super adorable.

  • thank you :)

  • thank you :)

  • i also stummer...but know stummer was decress.... in this video... the suffer is more worst than me...when the time i need to do presentation at my univesity...i feel very nervous....

  • Poor guy omg.

  • when im talkin in the kitchen i actually had a fag in my hand but it seemed they edited that out, shame!

  • hey i have a stuttering problem too but mine is not as severe as yours. do you still have that stammering problem now or have you overcome it and you can controll it. also wat are some tips.

  • hi sorry i took ages to get back to ya, im terrible at replying to things lol

well i still stutter quite bad but its alot better now then it was.

and some tips, hmmm let me see, could try stopping taking a deep breath think about what ur sayin then start agen. that seems to help me

  • Have you ever met Mudiaga or Joanne, the other participants in this documentary?

  • i have met Mudiaga, but not Joanne

  • @NathStar69 I am really glad you make it ;)) You are amaizin Nath!!

  • that fish is dead now
