Finally I've found a bicycling channel in America! I love all the people recording their travels, but those are always in Europe, so I have trouble following the different road designs and laws.
That's just nasty and incompetent driving. If pushing back motions didn't work with that driver, I'd end up blowing a snot rocket over my left shoulder there, I think.
@CyclingMikey why is this douchebag just cruising so far into the lane when their is plenty of room by the curb AND an open sidewalk for him to use to let the car go by? this guy just looks for trouble and i hope one day finds it.
@CyclingMikey the driver is acting like a dick because this moron IS CRUISING TO FAR INTO THE LANE, MUCH MORE THEN NECESSARY. what dont you understand? if this dumbass wasn't biking like an idiot, then the driver wouldnt be acting/driving like a dick. get your head out of your ass.
@SmilesHK You're saying the driver has an excuse to behave like that? Why didn't the driver drop back to a safe following distance? Why didn't the driver pass in the empty left hand lane? That's nothing more than bad attitude and p1ss poor driving.
@CyclingMikey yeah, BECAUSE THE IDIOT BIKER WAS TOO FAR INTO THE LANE. its NOT ok for him to bike like a douchebag, just cruising along in the middle of the lane blocking traffic because he wants to "be green" or whatever.
@SmilesHK Ah I thought so. You know there's no excuse for the driver to behave like that, and you know he/she would fail a driving test doing that.
...and no, the cyclist was riding correctly according to vehicular cycling principles. Bicycles may take the entire lane especially when the lane is less than 12 feet wide. I suspect you need both driving lessons and cycling lessons, as you're currently fail of good road use.
@CyclingMikey god damn you are stupid, i told you the excuse, the shitty ass biker not minded his space and fucking CRUISING like a DOUCHE BAG too far into the lane. if he was riding at a good speed and off to the side like he COULD be there would be NO problem, but BECAUSE of the BIKER riding TOO FAR into the lane, the driver the, ONLY BEAUSE OF THE BIKER RIDING LIKE AN IDIOT<your reason right there for the 3rd time.
i tailgate bikers who do this and yell at them every chance i get
@SmilesHK ..except that's not a valid excuse. There's never a valid excuse for driving quite as badly as this driver did here, no matter what the cyclist was doing wrong. And the cyclist wasn't doing anything wrong.
A good driver would never drive like that, and a good driver would never do what you've just suggested. I told you that you need both driving and cycling lessons, because you are a substandard road user.
@CyclingMikey I ride the sidewalk and I enjoy my rides since I dont have to battle traffic or two ton vehicles. CARS COME 1ST ALWAYS!!! If you dont respect that have fun gettin run over. You can try to preach to people driving you have the rightaway but a seventeen year old kid doesnt care about your 'lane rights' . Seriously I know you're all about being the educated cyclist and the do gooder but blondes on phones dont care about you or your expensive bike.
@therook1110 Here in the UK, and I believe in most places in the US, it's illegal to ride on the sidewalk. The sidewalk isn't that safe either, as you have to deal with junctions every time you come across a driveway, side entrance, or crossroads. On the sidewalk you have priority on none of those situations, and the chance of getting hooked and run over at almost every one. It's usually better and safer to take the lane.
It's drivers that need education the most, like SmilesHK above.
@CyclingMikey I understand the sidewalks are "illegal" but I've been riding them for years and never had a word said to me about it. I'd rather put the brakes on for someone not paying attention in a multiple thousand pound vehicle than try to get where I'm going just that much faster. I cant say I have any videos like this to post because not riding in the road equals me not having to battle traffic . I fully agree about the drivers but the unfortunate thing is it'll never happen, just to lazy.
@therook1110 A bit of intimidation and tailgating isn't quite the same level of danger as getting hooked on the pavement. Cycling is actually a very safe activity, so it's a long time between incidents of real danger, and this makes it easy to confound the level of intimidation with the level of real danger. Junction conflicts are where a large percentage of cycling collisions happen, and you'll get many more of those riding on the sidewalk.

why are you so far into his lane just cruising like a fucking IDIOT when there is plenty of room closer to the curb and on the sidewalk?
SmilesHK 4 months ago
I don't get why some people tailgate cyclists, especially when there's another lane which was empty for a while.

@SmilesHK AFAIK the cyclist isn't doing anything wrong, unlike the driver. Should you be ignoring the driver's bad behaviour like that?
CyclingMikey 4 months ago
@CyclingMikey how is he not doing anything wrong? hes cruising like a douche bag further into the middle of the lane than is necessary...
SmilesHK 4 months ago
@SmilesHK Why are you still ignoring that 'kwit of a driver's bad behaviour?
p.s. no, he's not doing anything wrong, just cycling vehicularly. League of American Bicyclists and all.
