this sounds nice. but could someone please tell me the differece between a short ram intake and a cold air intake...like the difference in horsepower gain and wish one over all would be better? thanks.
@famous121809 cold air in take draws cooler air from a cooler place under the hood(usually low and to the front of the car) ram air has a funnel that will force or "ram" the air into the intake manifold. Supposedly ram intakes are better
Get some 3' silicone pipe to extend the intake and then make a metal heat shield on the engine side and behind. You can use sheet metal, it works pretty well on mine, whereas before you could feel the hesitation at low rpm when you sitting at the lights.
@houso101 That sounds like a good tip... i hadnt thought of sheetmetal... maybe aluminum foil might be good too?
If you port out the intake manifold by cutting a rectangular hole in the bottom side if the intake & re-weld it with a flat aluminum sheet you will get more power & more of a hollow throaty engine sound. That way you eliminate the air grooves inside which are just in the way of airflow.
Nice hot air intake

I did the same thing, it helps a lot, plus the intake sound is more smooth.

@houso101 the power gasket sold by "awesome" is my next move to disipate heat... cuz you can fry an egg on that intake manifold at operating temp.
