  • turn the side chin on and listen to your choons, ps. whats gip

  • could you simply sidechain the compressor version to the Sylenth?

  • is there a reason to do this rather than just sequence the notes ?? seems like a lot more work to get that result...is there a particular reason for this ?

    thanks

  • DUDE-- YOU ARE A STARRRRR!!! I jus tried what you said and it worked!!

I went into my mixer for my sound card and muted the "Line in" , the "stero mix" and the "cd volume" inputs and now i got no interference or duplication or anything jus my vocals trecord over tyhe track!! YAYYYYYYYYY your the only one whos helped me with this.. THANKKK YOUUUUUUUUU!!!!---

  • yer that sounds morte like the problem dude.. ill try it out see if i can alter it somewhere ..should i be altering something on my main ableton screen? could i send you a scrreen shot of my screen to an email?

  • hahahaaha whats a git?

  • hey there friend, thank you for your assisstance here, i really do appreciate it. if i select "in" on the mic channel that im about to record a loop to , it distorts badly and makes this terrible loud feedback sound..

regarding the monitors being turned off, do u mean i shud unplug the speakers? then how do i hear the track i just recorded ( all the loops i put together i mean) so i can do the final vocal over the top of it all? or do u mean i need to actualyl press a button >? :-)

  • @StephenDeadToLife If I understand you correctly, you're using a microphone to record with and when you click "in" on the track you want to record to, you get loud feedback? If this is the case, it is because you're using speakers, it causes feedback because your microphone picks up noise which is amplified through the speakers, but the mic picks that up too so it starts feeding back. What you need to do is turn your speakers off and use headphones while recording.

  • @mexicanstorm hey dude, thanks for the help but its more of a problem recording along side listening to the track/having it play at the same time.. what happens is, i put togther thr track, have it exact,y how i wanted (recorded, but then when i try to layer vocals on top using a mike, it also records the track so i get this terrible double ((with about 2 secs delay) track and it all distorts :-(

  • @StephenDeadToLife You probably figured it out already, but just to help whoever might have the same problem - I think you have your soundcard set to "what you hear" instead of "mic". If so it's recording everything that's audible, including your vocals. I'm not sure how you'd get the mic working that way though. "what you hear" is great for sampling audio straight into Ableton, but you have to set the channel's monitor to "off" or you'll get the same insane feedback.

  • Hey eevryone, is there anyone who can help me as an Ableton novice..every time i try to record my vocals using a microphone over the top of my ready mde backing track , for some reason it also reocrds the backing track on the new audio microphone track EVEN THO i use earpphones ..plsss help ..cant record vocals at all on finished tracks Stephen x

  • @StephenDeadToLife turn off your monitors when you record XP. and make sure that the track you are recording on to has only the mic input selected, and the backing track is assigned to master out only, and turn down all sends/returns just to be sure.

  • @fistofthegnarles also helps to use monitor "in" instead of "auto" on your mic channel strip

  • ITS BASS!!! NOT BIES!

  • Great Tip Many thanks for posting this

  • thnx mate ;)
