This is very inspiring, BUT, I must admit I'm kind of disappointed that there is no internal wiring/merging. How does ableton respond to having both apc plugged in? Do you have to assign who gets to control the scenes and who just remains a MIDI map controller?

@icondetroit Not only will Ableton recognize inputs from multiple controllers at once, but the APC's were programmed to work along side one another. It just creates a larger grid for the user. It's featured in a video on Akai's website on the APC 20 page.

I did something very stupid - decided it's safe to eat some salad near my gear and ended up spilling a great deal of the dressing on top of the APC :S a rookie mistake! Fortunately, I found your video showing how one dismantles the APC40 and following the instructions I could open it and then clean up the mess and bring my APC back to life. Ok I just got an APC 20 over the weekend at GC for $99. I managed to get it open and remove the side panel on both the 40 and the 20. Befor I go any further I need to know what size bolt screws your using and the screws for the bottom plate. The bottom plate is 50cm x 20cm can you translate to inches so i can go to a metal shop and have it cut for me.
