  • To answer user ariesas's question, the controller on top of the blofeld is a legacy firewire audio interface/controller known as the Tascam FireOne which you may be able to get on eBay or used elsewhere. If you are wondering what the keyboard controller on the left is, that's the Akai MPK25 Midi Controller and is newer and still available in the usual music retail outlets.

  • i think its awesome that he wears a nordwave shirt while talking about waldorf things

  • Yes

  • For many reasons softsynth is better than hardware. U work in midi and you can change the things many Times and only when you decide to mixdown you cannot change. On hardwr synths you have the probl to record etc etc

  • more power... more power. LOL By the way, it's great that they solved this stupid issue and put delay and reverb in 1.5 version.

  • hey whats that little black controller? so sexy i wan t it!!

  • @ariesas If you are referring to the keyboard controller on the left, that's the Akai MPK25. But if you are referring to the other controller on top of the blofeld on the right, apparently according to andrecato, it's the Tascam VL-A8.

  • @ariesas The keyboard controller is the Akai MPK25. Don't know what the controller on top of the Blofeld is actually.

  • I have this and it sounds better than my f*ing hardware synths!!!

Take THAT all you arrogant hardware naturalists!

  • @rcflite nothing will sound as pure and vibrant as my virus b, true stereo is unmatched so far

  • @rcflite

Yep yep...VSTI's these days are freaking awesome... I hardly ever use hardware anymore unless I am gigging live... well with my band scenario...but when I do shows by myself...It's all about MIDI'ing my Alesis QS 8.1 to my computer...VSTi's sound sooooo much better in most applications...And you are not confined to the hardware's limitations.

  • @rcflite thats ure option....digital simply cannot be as good as analog... what speakers u run.... even on 3grand speakers it may sound better but put in on function ones..... theres a massive difference... example... the difference between 320 and wav

  • They are VL-A8s...

  • They are VL-A8s...

  • What kind of monitors are those, and can a mere mortal like me afford?

  • Tascam

  • Tascam VL-series. Nothing too fancy.

  • looks like Tascam Vl-A5s, I could be wrong. They're very affordable and they sound quite nice

  • @rellekium ahahahah mere mortal ur jokes

  • Good review my bloke!

  • love largo - :) thanks for the video - Waldorf has always been way ahead of the curve

  • This looks and sounds like a software version of the original Q. I've worked with the Q and own a micro Q. Their modulation matrix was ahead of their time in terms of flexability, but that made it difficult to keep track of and some parameters didn't work on the micro Q. Having software control over your mod matrix will improve productivity tenfold easy.
