  • I love the last comment.. "still flickering at the end."

  • I think she was blessed with an excellent son and cursed by a daughter who was just not able to love her or value all that Bette did for her. Ironically, the one time Bette expressed empathy for Joan Crawford was after the release of "Mommie Dearest". How awful that she herself would have to experience what Joan never did with an awful, vindictive memoir.

  • This is a great Intimate portrait of the the larger than life Bette Davis.

What a shame we don't have stars like Bette this days.

  • even in that mean nasty book, B.D. does not deny that her mother gave her everything... how could ones life be filled with such disregard for ones feelings....

  • I could not write a book like that about anyone let alone my mother.... how shameful.

  • B.D. doesn't look at all like her mother... She has nothing hers, nor beauty, nor personality nor guts! Just an idiotic brat that was jealous of her mothers brilliance.

  • she was the best i love her

  • The problem for me about this clip is that i would have preferred someone with better credentials that Mr R Wagner to give the closing comments.....he somehow makes it all so cheap and dated. Miss Davies was a timeless legend and not something fixed in 80's trashy tv.

  • I guess BD is the greatest example of the old saying, "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished". RIP dear Lady Bette. The whole world appreciated your good work, even if your daughter did not.

  • Her daughter is a disgrace! This goes to show how far some people will sink for some cash. I was watching an interview where she said that her daughter was the best thing that ever happened to her. How sad.

  • @Karosanyo she shoulda kept Margo and stuck BD someplace!

  • Fantastic !

  • Amazing woman. I will never forget her.

    Thank you for uploading :)

  • What an amazing woman was she! There ain't no other like her! She is a role-model for actresses today! So classy, yet so open! Love her! I wish she lived a little bit longer in good health! People like her need to live forever!

  • We love you, Miss Bette Davis, and hopefully, if she hasn't already, b.d. hymen will die a slow, painfull, agonizing death. I think b.d's hymen was broke.

  • I am so glad that her son loved her & appreciated her. God love him.

  • Being an actress is one thing, Being a Great Actress is an other, But LEGEND is only for those who surpaess, And Excel more that anyone could have Imagined. Betty Davis a TRUE LEDGEN.. RIP.

  • What an ungrateful rotten kid.

  • Also @lovelyjoints. How dare you. Unless you are an actor or actress, how dare you make a statement like that. Actors and actresses (if they're good like Bette was) are trained to tapped into their DEEPEST emotions to show to the audience. Just because they play a character for our entertainment doesn't mean their emotions are all "lies". B.D Hyman crushed her mother with that book. Didn't you hear what her own BROTHER says about her?

  • what a woman. what a fabulous woman. again. this 6/ of 6 videos. thank you. Bette Midler was named Bette for Bette Davis. her mother thought it was pronounced Bette. what an amazing woman.

  • It called "selling out your mother." Joan and Bette were and are great American actresses of their time.

  • Bette Davis is by far my favorite actress. <3

  • That book sucks by the way. A grown woman who can't get over herself. Christina Crawford at least had SOME legits complaints.

  • Love love love The Whales of August!

  • I can never quite shake the feeling that Bette, being an actress, was "acting" the part of the betrayed and devastated mother after B.D.'s book. That's certainly the case with most actresses--they're always acting and their emotions are hardly ever real.

  • @lovelyjoints why wouldn't she be upset?

  • @lovelyjoints it is a possibility that she was acting, however, for me, Betty need played those games. if you look back on her life, she didn't have to she was that good. Those tricks was performed by such stars as Ms. Crawford.

  • B.D is you ever read this: How could you??? For all the people in the world who have had it harder than you ever had it back then, How could you??? I bet you regret it and if so forgive yourself!!!

  • @RiquetRudeau She SHOULD be ashamed of herself, but sadly shockingly not!!And also,it was that toe rag husband of B.D's (Jeremy) that wrote most of the dreadful thing...and also, calling it 'My Mothers Keeper' was a complete joke, seeing as Bette had looked after B.D. and then both B.D. AND Jeremy financially all her life, and they only panicked when Bette had her cancer and stroke, thinking that there'd be no more money coming in,as they thought she'd die...THAT is why they wrote that book, money!!
