It seems the only way I use an external monitor with the nb505 without flickering is in projector, duplicate mode.. and that looks terrible. I installed drivers for the Dell 2001FP and tried different settings.. but it still flickers. Is there maybe some video card setting i need?

I have a Toshiba nb505.. I've tried attaching 3 different Dell monitors like the 2001FP to it.. it detects all 3. But flickers like crazy. I've tried adjusting all the screen and resolution settings with no luck. Anybody find a way around this?

On the Dells it looks great but flickers. It looks great on an AOC 19 without flickering but that is not my monitor so can;t keep it.. I am able to make it work on the Dells by selecting Projector > duplicate.. but resolution looks terrible and giant fonts. Any work around?

I just purchased one of these for $229 at Best Buy.. all I can say is WOW. I attached an AOC F22 monitor. Outputs amazing to a 22 inch monitor and works great with external mouse and keyboad. The only problem I'm having is that after about 20 minutes the 22 inch monitor starts flickering like crazy. If I hibernate the netbook and come back flickering is gone.

@Steelysh If you can load process hogging Win7, You can definitely install Ubuntu 10.4, but I would recommend 11.04. You can always default on Gnome instead of Unity. This will offer the you most that little netbook has to offer.

@devildude1255 Stupid man... Acer is one of the cheapest brands, and not reliable.. Toshiba is the No 1 netbook and laptop brand all over the world. Go for Toshiba

nice review..! I just bought it this month and upgraded into 2GB Ram during purchasing.I am happy with its performance working good for me. its easy to carry pretty handy. Display quality is good but speaker is not much strong but if any headphone attached then you can get good sound output... Youtube video or movies can be seen on it easily. One thing I wanna know can I run photoshop?

Yes you can upgrade ! I put Win 7 Home premium and upgraded my ram to 2gigs and it runs great !
