Comment very old but is a motor glider and are popular in Europe; get to altitude and shut engine off and ride thermals all afternoon like soaring birds and the cost to fly goes way down when engine off. FYI; the companies test pilot was killed in one of these several years ago when there was a wing structural failure and my best reguards to the relatives of family and this design has promise but i don't know present status of.
I never new you could make a plane out of a womans corset lol all joking apart that thing has some ! wing span.well it flys thats the mane thing . good luck guy .
I wonder how much output that would be needed to propel this bird, it can't be too much and with the still growing engineering regarding electromagnetism utilizing its overunity to loop the unused power in exchange of even more power, it looks promising.
I'm getting into electromagnetism this moment, planning to build a little bird too if my electromagnetism project turns out to be a success.
60 kg lift force on my magnets should do the magic required for my project :P
absolutly beautiful little bird you got. how much $ that cost ya? and id love to see some in cockpit flyin. if you make a videolike that let me know please and thanks. nice plane.
This is NOT the plane that the test pilot was killed in. This is the original design using dacron sail cloth, and a tubular leading edge spar.

Those wings remind me of a u-2. How much altitude can it get?

you've designed way too wing area (i.e. span is too much)

@urgdaddy, Its designed to glide in case of engine failure.

@Hondaridr58 it could do with 7 more engines and a hull on the bottom :p
