This is SERIOUSLY making me want to get back in to CoH. Due to financial constrants I'm playing private WoW realms. I love the story of WoW, but I REALLY miss CoH. Not sure if its really fair to compare WoW and CoH. Two different genres(medieval fantasy and superheroes, respectively), within a prime gaming genre(MMORPG).

@Energyone Hahaha yeah true, I started on Freedom but got sick of the amount of fools so I moved to a less populated server and found some real choice people. I also try to stay away from the furry RP twilight zone that is Virtue :P

Kinetic Melee, one of the new powers in the expansion, is really impressing me-- The animations all fluidly flow from one to the next, no matter what order attacks are used in. In at least one case, it actually drops the attack time significantly.

Great times, and the video shows a lot of reasons why.

@ZalbNacho Freakshow is the best villain group of all time. Some people enjoy grinding council I suppose. No one has to grind anything though at all. There is tons of content and now you can make up your OWN missions, so you can never complain about a lack of content.

I'd consider going back, but then again, I'd have to buy the game again now. Already have 2 years vetted in this so I'll be constantly reminded how this is a over glorified band-aid on top of an old system.

All they need to do is honestly tell me "Jump Kick is now a viable power choice by many", or "Targetted AoE attacks with knockback will now knockback from target and not you." and I think I'd be in. Both of those statements implies they likely did some nice overhauling.

At least, last I took a peek-- Might have been a fluke, I suppose, but trust me-- They have done some heavy system overhauling.

@sadicious Jump kick is a standard attack, like any other. Targetted aoe attacks DO knock back from the target. PBAOE attacks do knockback away from you. Cones are not targetted aoes in the same sense - cones work like pbaoes and kb away from the player.

@Energyone Jump Kick has a horrible Damage-Per-Activiation and the most absurd animation. It is if when told to animate the power, it was their intention to have the player be moving forward the entire time, but then realized their combat mechanics required everything to be done stationary so it ended up being a dumb looking leap frog thing.

I haven't played in a year, but I know Targeted AOE attacks knocked based on player position. It was impossible to knock in by targeting the back target.

@sadicious Why do you care if it is a power you hate? There are much better jump kick attacks in the game outside of Jump Kick. Most people take Combat Jumping for immobilization protection and combined with Hurdle can make a decent psuedo-movement power. Throw a kb IO into combat jumping and you will almost never get knocked back, getting to skip Acrobatics.

@Energyone Its not that I hate a power. That is just an example and you just explained the root issue. The problem is there are many powers in the game that plain ol suck, giving you a false sense of choice. Just one of many old gripes I recall having with the game. If you never played the game, I still recommend it.

@sadicious It's a bad example, because Jump Kick is a pool power and not a primary attack. It's just... average. My favorite character of all 6 1/2 years I've been playing, is a fire/fire scrapper.

Not impressed with the game so far. My main problem is that for some reason every time I go into any of the new lab maps my FPS drops down to like negative 1000 and the game literally becomes a slide show.

I keep thinking of getting this but I dunnooooo. Lol, the MMO market is getting SO saturated.

I'm on WoW right now. Old Republic, Guild Wars 2, Black Prophecy, and The Secret World all interest me. But I love the prospect of superhero mmo... Champions Online lost me even with the demo (customization looked AWESOME, but everything else just felt meh), and DC Universe is a 'wait and see' sort of deal.

@SwobyJ This is far better than Champions. Among other things, Champions actually pushes for solo play, because everyone can be a mage tank - in fact, you rather have to for much of the game to even survive.

this expansion has finally completed the game...it's truly a fantastic game now; got exactly what it needed by giving the player traveling freedom despite being a villain or a hero and also gave them another, considerbably more ultimate freedom: morality freedom! awesoooooome!

I am so loving this game, the new city, WOW! Heck half the time when you stop and look at it, you have to keep asking, "Is this REALLY City Of Heroes?" I mean the cities are so big and full of things going on, and being able to pick between being good and evil feel, well good! I will say this much, the people story wise in the new cities are NUTS! It makes Paragon and the Isle seem like the diet coke of evil.
