@BrennerBay Go watch the short that came before this. If seeing screaming baby bears doesn't make you want to see Ross get what is coming to him then you have no soul.
yeah, every creature big and small loves being locked up. why, its a wonder that more people don't try to break IN to prison, its obviously the best place to be!
Ya know everybody is bitching about the fluffy kitty and the cuddly bears. But nobody gives a toss about the rattlers. Something tells me if they animals were say, a gator and a badger, I doubt there would be as many negative comments.
Ok I loved this sketch and all but all this Ross guy did was capture animals and put them in a zoo, where they are guaranteed food and shelter, and you guys are calling for him to rot in hell. Gee, hypocrites much? I'm pretty sure most of you eat meat on regular basis, that alone makes you worse people than that Ross guy, if you're judging people by that criteria.
First off he's putting these animals in an environment where they wont have to worry about predators or starvation. To an animal living in the wild, that must sound like a pretty good deal.
Secondly if you eat meat on any sort regular basis you are worse person than this Ross character. That means you pay people to kill animals and then consume them. Ross only captured them.
@crazypants88 Just stepping on the bear's paws, throwing the bag with the cat out of the tree. But you're right, people are overreacting. But the food industry does worst actions.
@foodonface Ok granted he could have been more careful in how he handled the animals. But then again this short is pretty old, different times different sensibilities.
@crazypants88 There always has to be that ONE guy defending the horrible actions of something. "But but but You eat meat right? And and we do worse things to humans! I'm taking this MST3K sketch really seriously!"
@crazypants88 The dude cut down a tree and started a fire just to take innocent animals out of their natural habitat. Plus he's not exactly treating them wth care, so yeah, what he did was bad. And I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm a vegitarian, so no hypocrisy here. And since he probably eats animals, even the people on here who do aren't worse than him.
@sweetnessledda Right their natural habitat where they aren't guaranteed food and safety unlike a zoo. I will agree he perhaps could be more careful in how he treated them but he's still putting them in a much safer environment, he's helping them. I'd say, if that's your criteria for judging people, that Ross is still a better person than all those commenters, He might eat meat but he also has it as his profession to put wild animals in a much safer environment.
@crazypants88 Safer enviorment or not it's not their natural habitat. They're meant to be in their natural habitat, and from what we've seen those "safe places" are much too small. Many people feel that zoos are very wrong, no matter how "safe" they are. The commenters are better because they don't mess with nature, which Ross does.
@crazypants88 'Ross' wasn't trying to send animals to a safer enviroment, he was catching them for money. One thing about wild animals is that they do a hell of a lot better in these environments than the ones zoo's had in those days. Those zoos were not about animal welfare, they were about giving amusement to city dwellers. 'Sweet' isn't saying that Ross is a bad person for eating meat, he's a bad person because he treats animals like crud.
@bookeater lol Those two aren't mutually exclusive. The fact he did it for money doesn't invalidate the fact that having no predators around AND having guaranteed food is a better and safer situation for these animals. Again whether they're focus was or was not on animal welfare doesn't invalidate the fact that having those things I mentioned before is clearly a superior than being out in nature where they aren't guaranteed food or safety. Honestly how can you deny this?
@crazypants88 Dude you know how dangerous the world is right? Ok, now imagine this; what if someone kidnapped you and put you in a small room with a small window in it that people looked at you through, and gave you food by sliding it under the door. Now you're not hungry and you're completely safe, but do you think you'd be happy in that situation? And do you think the people who did that to you would be in the right?
@sweetnessledda Well there's difference between me and a wild animal. I don't have to live or die by the fact on how good I am at hunting. These animals however do.
@crazypants88 Well let's see here; living creatures, have families, living in dangerous world, I'm not seeing much difference here that would matter in the situation.
@sweetnessledda It's undeniable that I (as a human) live a less dangerous and much more stable live than any wild animal whose survival is entirely dependent on whether or not they can hunt or find enough food AND flee from predators. How on earth is such a dangerous live better than one were you are guaranteed food, protection from predators and medical services? If you are actually denying this, fine, I just thought fans of MST3K were smarter than average.
@crazypants88 Murderers, kidnappers, other criminals, animals, car accidents, poverty, starvation, etc. If anything humans live with more danger around them than animals. And I bring you back to my previous post, would being sealed in a small room be worth avoiding all the dangers I listed and more? Judging on your response you think it isn't worth it, so why would it be for animals? Also I'd like to point out that the animals he's taking ARE the predators and insults aren't helping yor case.
@sweetnessledda No you're blatantly wrong. Sure all these things are a conceivable threat to a modern human but they're still a lot less likely to occur than a wild animal getting eaten by a predator, starving to death, dying because of a otherwise easily treatable wound etc. None of these things are a major threat to zoo animal. Preferable the animals shouldn't be in tiny cages, I've been to plenty of zoos where the animals have a modest living area.
But even with zoos with the most tightly cramped cells, my points still stand. They're still safe from danger, they're safe from starvation and they're safe from dying from easily treatable injuries. Predators can still have predators that hunt them and even if they don't I listed several other dangers, not just the threat of predators.
No, insults don't help my case, my superior argumentation does that fine, it just reliefs the frustration of dealing with people who are so blatantly wrong.
@crazypants88 Really? Cause the last I heard people die every second, doesn't sound like the chances of these things happening are as few and far between as you think they are.
Zoo animals also have to give up basically everything that makes life worth living. What's the point of making them safe if there's nothing to live for anymore?
@sweetnessledda Sigh.. Yes people undoubtedly are being killed, kidnapped, raped etc etc somewhere every minute around the globe.. But that IN NO WAY invalidates that these things happen to the average person very rarely. Fact: about 108 people around the globe die every minute, that doesn't mean that every minute I'm lucky to still be alive, death is still most likely very far away in my life.
lol so you know what makes life worth living, not just for one species, but for whole myriad of different species? Just ignoring the fact that they do not possess the same intelligence as human makes this incredibly presumptuous argument, given that they aren't as intelligent makes this an extraordinarily stupid argument.
Values are subjective, even for animals. So even assuming they could perceive their zoo as being in captivity that still wouldn't mean that they'd perceive it as something negative.
@crazypants88 And not every single animals is killed by a predator. Admit it dude the only difference between you and the animals in the video is the ability to type. If you wouldn't like captivity, then neither would an animal, stop acting like it's perfectly ok because it's not happening to you.
TRIVIA: When the No.3 door closes during the "Joel Shows", part of the sound-effect includes a person saying "Pizza". Listen carefully, it's there. Cool, huh? I love it when Joel tickles the "Ross Doll" & does that doofy laugh.
I'm supprised they didn't make a big deal out of "HIS Seminole"! That term alone would make anybody go "WHA?!!!" But "Emo Crow" makes up for it! I mean you don't OWN a Seminole! They're people! Racism sucks like a Hoover!
@singinglawnchair LOL, I loved the part when Joel totally breaks the fourth wall and goes "By the way folks, we just want to apologize to everyone everywhere for this."
"I can't do that, he hates me. We went to camp together." One of the funniest Joel lines ever.
