  • hunters are to blame for this...they shoot at all sorts of cats...

  • No wild animal can be tamed they just learn to tolerate and live with humans

  • I''ve seen 1 or 2 wild cats and i hope they go on living in the wild where they belong they must never be tamed me i'm a cat lover Lonewolf4540

  • 400 left in the whole of scotland that is low i just hope the Scottish Wild Cat can be saved and people start leaving them alone they fantastic for wildlife fans but i never knew they cant be tamed, if thats true how come we have over 100 million domestic cats in Great Britain they must of been wild to begin with?

  • @Dock18TeamLeader good question, but the domestic cats are way different from the wild cats thought you would think a cat is a cat, but not the wild ones

  • Great commitment to the species - thanks

  • @MrRobBrooks your welcome i love all Cats domestic and wild

  • very informative, thank you for making this video

  • Have you heard about the Caledonian Forest restoration project?

    Go to treesforlife. org. uk

  • interesting stuff

  • Thank you, that was a lovely film. I only ever saw the wild cat twice in all the years I lived in the N. W. Highlands. Also, one Osprey, snowy owl, and many, many otters. Magic moments that will never leave me.

  • Lovely and heartwrenching. The song seems not only to be a lament for the wildcat itself, but for the land and the people of whom they are so representative. Also made me homesick.

  • @sorbothane unfortunately, some seem determined to remain unenlightened.

  • hunters god I want to shoot thoose fr****** bullys with a riffle see how thay like it.

  • pfff just release some home cats in the wild and no extinction

  • majestic creature everything possible needs to be done to preserve them.

  • You had a sand cat 1:18 and an african wildcat 1:31 in there but oh well.

They also need protecting too. xD

  • Beautiful animal, i hope the carry on breeding and surviving

  • Thank You ,i hope so too :)

  • @FinJeffin only if they breed with there own.

  • Beautiful Cats. On pictures they look alot like normal stripped cats. but trust me, when you've seen them in the wild you then realise how bigger and more powerful they are to their domesticated cousins. a gorgoues animal.

  • Great vid helen...cool images, especially at 3:10. captures the wildness in the eyes. sad part is that too many people believe the wildcat to be domestics gone wild, where this is merely an amateur opinion which does not help their decline. waladghazali - scottish wildcats will fish if they need to, their fear of water is another factor that seperates them from domestics.

  • @notenglishandproud I would bet that hunters spread the myth that wildcats are merely feral cats. Any far-fetched pretext for pulling a trigger. In the US, hunters actually assert that in killing bobcats, they're doing a conservation service--saving the other animals that bobcats prey upon. As if Nature needs the intervention of gun-happy hicks...

  • @cbdesade they hunt Bobcats? i didnt know that i hate any kind of hunting oh god those poor wee crators just sickens my stomach its same when i found out they kill wolves in USA i mean i couldnt get over that its a disgrace, these people have no hearts, i get upset if i even kill a beastie by mistake if i trod on it out side and it preys on my mind, let alone to go delibertly kill a animal for the blooming sake of it, killing to survive to eat is different, but not for sport

  • @helen1434 Yes, bobcats are hunted by gunslinging goobers in the States. Right here on youtube there are videos of this "sport." In one that I recall, a wall-eyed creep shoots both a coyote and a bobcat--in a kind of backwoods double feature. As the bobcat's not on the "endangered" list, it's not protected by law. Still it's tragic to see such a superb creature--arguably the most beautiful of the lynxes--killed wantonly. It's seems that animals here are safe only in zoos...

  • Fantastic creation!

A lot of plants and animal species are disappearing each year, as a result of mans greed, cruelty, and vanity.

  • EXCENLENTE!!!.*****

    Felicidades.

    Eduard.

  • gud job helen the mare we force people to to fight for these wouderful wee beasties the greater the chance they will strive again the highland cat is ment to represent the nature of the scotish nation we should be doing more to perserve them

  • thnks Colin aye yer right there we do need to preserve them mare, nice to see Scottish writing on ma comments as weel :)

  • Comment removed

  • weel its a dialec thats naw all there any mare either its a bit like yer wee wild beasties slowly fading

    Tapadh leat "thank you" colin

  • Beautiful composition with excellent music.

At 1:22 you have introduced a Sand Cat, and at 3:03 a Fishing Cat. These are two diferent species.

  • Thankyou. the cat at 3.03 i do think is a wild cat, as they are great at fishing 1.22 im not sure i just took it to be a wild cat though he does look a bit different, a lot of wild cats breed with the domestic roaming around and look a bit different.

  • @waladghazali mm, actually I agree with waladghazali, that's a fishing cat. The skull is much longer than that of a scottish wildcat and scottish wildcats don't have spots behind the ears. No silvestris cat does as far as I know. But it's an easy mistake to make! Either way, it's a great photo. xD

  • oh this is beautiful. they're such beautiful creatures, i could just kiss them all over their whiskery faces. and those kittens made my voice go squeaky! thanks for posting this. :)
