I worked with Curtis Strange jan and feb 1989 and went to the U S Open with him and make a change sun and he hit 16 GIR and WON his second. I have another student that won two U S Opens in a row ! Pat Perez worked for me at La Costa for 7 years. Won every tournament he played in when he was 17, beat Tiger in 3 Majors. Carl Welty

Wow! I remember when Curtis won it two years in a row in '89, 16 GIR!! The only other person I know that won 2 US Opens in a row besides Curtis Strange was Ben Hogan in 1950 and '51... or is there another?

Perez worked for you for 7 years! He is one of my favourites, Your resume is outstanding Carl, I bet you have some great golf stories too!
