  • you are like real good only total war ive played is napoleon total war and i was ok but you are like BEST.

  • Wow why do run it with so many units the fps is ugly...

  • how to get that menu that you get when you put the mouse in the top of the screen

  • Im controlling the Greeks, and i have taken all of Greece, all of Italy and im moving on to attack to the west

  • Comment removed

  • @Pala16123z0r Whenever Im controlling the Greeks I go Greece, Itally, Turkey and Southern Regions like Cyrene and Alexandria

  • wat game is this?

  • Rome: Total War

  • can anyone tell me how to download mods for total war gold edition?

  • where are you others campaign chronicles 38,39,40,50,60 their so freaken awsome i love episode 58

  • attila 16, i know you don't answer questions, but PLZ, I CAN'T FIND THE ANSWER TO THIS ANYWHERE, how do you make your unit cards go to the bottom of the screen, and hide the other actions????

  • i know me neither

  • eurgh, google "Rome Total War, Minimal UI".

  • thks

  • That army must have cost a pretty penny to recruit. I don't see how you could afford it with Carthage. They are just too expensive. But their units are competent.

  • Well,ibery fighters(can't remember its name)

Are worth of every penny. Those spearmen too. They cost 500-600 gold and ibery cost 200-300. They are good to protect sides, and too holding off romans some minutes

  • actually, Carthage is a very rich faction if you manage them right.

  • I've never played Carthage and not had the city of Carthage losing money after ten turns, even on medium level. I can usually play the others and make money on hard.

  • well, first of all you should set up a port between Carthage and Lilybaeum. i can have Carthage make money on very hard. the minute a town becomes a large town u should set up a port, check the statistics for towns to make sure rebels aren't burning your territories and keep up with farms and markets. don't recruit to much

  • that's my problem. to fight rome (and sometimes the Greek City States) I have to recruit. That dumb starting army in Lilybaum sucks. I have to recruit. To do that, I have to spend money.

  • The army in Lilybaeum rocks. It's got elephants!

Carthage is all about the cheap cavalry.

Also, the money tag beside the city means nothing, its the overall money chart you need to look at.

  • I know it's the overall money chart I have to pay attention to, but I just have trouble seeing a city losing so much money so quickly. It's not that I'm not a fiscal planner and can't deal with Carthage, it's that I haven't had the same success others have had.

And the Lilybaeum army does suck. Yeah, elephants are cool and usually work well in conjunction without other units able to hold their own, which Iberian infantry and long shield cavalry cannot do.

  • Long shield cavalry is all about the cycle charging: they move fast and they have a good charge bonus, plus they're better than Greek or Roman cavalry in the early stages. I always use them in large numbers for logistical reasons. Africa sucks for money. Take Italy if you want money, but the real cash cow is Greece of course.

I agree Iberian infantry suck, which is why you need to focus more on cavalry with Carthage. Infantry should only fight maybe 10 secs tops or else they run away.

  • I'm 30 or so turns into my VH/VH Carthage campaign and I'm ahead of every faction. The army on Sicily is useful, you keep Hanno there as a guard while building economy for 5 turns or so then take the whole island and knock out the Brutii by taking Croton and Tarentum with Hanno. After that the Romans are reluctant to attack. So you can keep building economy by taking Hasdrubal west along the north African coast and the east coast of Spain. When you are fit to progress, advance on Rome.

  • lol and I've just realised that Attila pretty much has done the exact same thing in these chronicles :) Hard part about taking Rome is that the senate is so powerful and they guard Capua which is a stepping stone to Rome. So I took an army up north past Rome and conquered a Julii city. This made the SPQR split their great army to defend, and I just managed to knock out the stronger half of the SPQR force while they were missing most of their generals. Now they are doomed, long live Carthage!

  • i worked out a tactic so when rome attacks syracuse, wait for syracuse to be captured and attack whatever the roman settlement is it should be mostly empty because of the invasion of syracuse, then once you have captured whereever it is, turn on syracuse then offer a ceasefire to the scipii, you have sicily and no war

  • Yeah that's a good strategy I think. That way you avoid any huge conflict with the collective Roman factions and conquer siciliy without striking up war with the Greek city states.

Suppose it depends on your style though. I preferred to go head-to-head with the Romans. Their greedy eyes will eventually turn to Carthaginian lands anyway. In my campaign they are extinct, but it means the Greeks are thrice as powerful. Now they must perish at the tip of a good sarissa. Mwahaha.

  • Hanno dies at the second turn.

  • i destroyed the senat in one blow. send half my army and crushed rome in 19 turns

  • good strategy

  • that was good man u were organized

  • lol just as the skirmishers were about to get attacked, the salvatiom of the spearmen attacked and pwned them Saminite Mercenaries xD

  • Spear > Horse.

  • I love spear companys :D

  • dang dude that was awsoem i luved how u did that protection berrior and u always win lol u dotn let ur enemies get any were cloe to beign out lol

  • dude, why didnt you use slingers?

they are much better dan peltasts!

  • who cares?

  • ur advisor is hillarious

  • interesting tactic but u had a disadvantage

    i see no sacred band

  • yangyangshit, even if carthage had the worst army, then they still had the best general: Hannibal, Romans always tought they could win with bigger forces, but you can only win with a smart strategy.

  • "Never advance relying in sheer military power" Zun Tzu

  • yeah unless you know wtf your doing xD

  • Wouldnt knowing wtf you are doing count as having more than sheer military power...oh well, yeah your are right

  • you need to rely on strategy to get a victory but you also need a good army incase u are outnumbered very badly.

  • I think he means the game, and actually he is right, regardless of your general, all your infantry before poenis rout after a pila storm...and even if they are cheap, they are just too unreliable

  • okay, its me vs. 100 guys, i can win with a stratedgy, right? NOT!

  • PtJtultimate you have to order them not to fire at will

  • hey how do you make your missile units stop firing even if they are in reach of firing? i pressed stop but they keep doing it.

  • interesting formation at 8:59. Im the Juli faction and Im just a beginner at playing this game, right now i have most of all of western Europeexcept for couple German provinces and one Britainnica Province. Should i go down to Spain, go up north to Britain, or Go east and get rid of Dacia?

  • the formation i usually do with greeks, but you should do them if, if not already, britain would be the place to take and camp a bit

  • why can't you be pontus is campaign they're a pretty strong faction ( when they want to be)

  • i think he doesn't play rtw anymore

  • wow, what difficulty was this on. normally you're kicked out of sicily in the first few turns, even if you use the cheap phalanx gateway trick. i usually end up having to give up corsica and sicily and keep total naval dominance to keep scipii from attacking, then i have to go up through spain and attack the julii before they flood into gaul. then i just put a blockading chokehold on all of the romans and let their own economy destroy them.

  • that's at very hard (all my total war video are at very hard

  • @Scipio1770 The scipii will attack the citystates first. This will give you time to bring your army to sicily and attack the weakned from war with the greeks romans and then you will dominate Sicily (even in hard mode) :)

  • who do you put does buttons up there??

  • bleh, i hate the carthaginian army.

    i suck with em :P

  • nice video

  • thanks =)

  • goodness fast mouse movemeent and quick thinking! nice arrow! done wif infantry.. im like WOW right now im onli comannding like 400? haha this is LIKE INSANE!!

  • Attila is the modern day Hannibel Barca

  • hehe, well... if you say it =)

  • all you did was bulwark them, doubt that would've worked against someone in mp

  • Those soldiers are blessed with such a good general.

  • hehe i hope so ;)

  • i have q question..how 2 defeat the spartans phalanx wen if im a using the romans without any cavalry or archers?...coz in my last battle,i have the advantge of 2159 men against the spartans with 1328 men...coz it really cuase me a lot of my men so i plan to retreat..

  • all you can really do against a spartan phalanx is flank with everything you've got and hope it sticks.

  • omg nice tactic

  • thanks =)

  • How do you get the unit cards at the bottom in one line? And unlock cartahge in campaign?

  • complete the campaign with julies brutii or scipii

    then you'll unlock many factions

  • r u sure charging through ur own ranks with cavalry doesn't hurt? cause my men scream whenever that happens. also elephants definitely hurt no matter wut.

  • as long as it doesn't kill them, it doesn't matter much in my opinion

  • 5 stars mate

  • yeah, that's weird...

  • This is nice battle.

  • glad you liked it =)

  • kool

  • u 1st 2 see and im 1st to vote

  • thx for the voting =)

  • u own

  • hehe, thx!

  • pretty good battle.took the box formation again I see.you must really like it.they didn't put up as good a fight as last time though

  • well i adapt my formation to the situation, by adopting it in that battle it allowed me to be sur my main battle group was secure while i was hunting down remaining romans troops.

  • bahahaha first to view!

  • hehe it alway sound like a competition ;-)
