Anoop has a very great potential of an actor, performer and singer he got the right package. I am not sure though that he will be the ultimate Idol for this season.

But this boy have a very good voice, and he just have to pick more powerful songs that can showcase the variety and power of his voice. Try to sing more of Josh Groban, James Ingram, Brian McKnight songs and even Celine Dion's songs (male version).

I believe he can sing anything, he just have to put a little bit of action/emotion

Anoop was actually 17 here, almost 18. He decided to take off some weight I'm sure for the same reason most people would - look better, feel better, clothes fit better...... He had lost weight by Fall 2005 (watch Pimpin/Gold Digger) but the real transformation is evident by February 2006 (watch Don't Lie).

Couple things - 1) this venue has relatively crappy acoustics, at least compared to Memorial Hall where most of my other videos were shot, 2) the sound system or the camera microphone might have had issues, and 3) he was 17 years old here and his voice did evolve, I feel, over his time with the Clefs (the 4 years of my videos) from expereience. But I don't feel his voice here is all that different - he is excellent at adapting his voice to sound much like (better than!) the original artist...

Something to remember is that this video is from more than 4 years ago when he was 17 years old. It's likely that, if he sang this today, it would sound different - more towards the rich tone he has developed. And the goal of many college a cappella groups IS to sound just like the original artists...

I know that a cappella groups tend to "imitate" the original, and thats okay, but once in a while its nice to hear something different. I particularly enjoyed Be Without and Angel of Mine alot because those were orginally done by females, so its harder to just imitate w.out bringing a bit of your own into it.
